Mediocre at best. If you are hungry the food is ok. If you are looking for something special go elsewhere.
Food and drinks were fantastic, especially the house-made pasta! But portion sizes were much smaller than expected, and the service was also a bit slow for the number of people in the restaurant.
Overall, it still a very nice place to go. But the price is a little bit higher than the food quality, in very understandable level. Will go there again for sure.
We had a salad that was definitely large enough to share. We each tried a pasta dish. He had the lemon linguine with chicken and I enjoyed the gnocchi. Table service was fantastic.
Great experience. We went the day before and loved it enough to go back.
Excellent choice for a meal between Part 1 and Part 2 of the Cursed Child.
Nice choice for dinner between Harry Potter. My husband had the short ribs and I had the Gnocchi and split the arugula salad. All good!
Overall mediocre experience. Felt more like a fast food restaurant than a nice one.
I selected "birthday" for the occasion on OpenTable, yet when we arrived, the hostess greeted us unenthusiastically and immediately stared down at the iPad the entire time without ever congratulating or mentioning the birthday as many other restaurants do when you check in. We were seated very close to the tables around us and one of the servers noticed our discomfort. He kindly offered us to change tables to a less crowded area. We happily obliged and a nice server was about to take our order when another host came by and curtly said "sorry, there's a large reservation coming so we're going to need you to move back over there." The apology wasn't sincere and once he brought our menus back over to the side we were originally seated, he left without saying anything. After that, we had a new server who didn't seem like he cared or wanted to be there. We were once again seated closely to tables close to us which made it uncomfortable to have conversation. It was also quite loud. The food was alright, nothing to write home about. Portions were small and nowhere as big as the photos on Yelp made them out to be. No mentions of the birthday at the end either. I don't recommend coming here when there are many other restaurants to choose from.
Menu is great. Food and ambience even better than anticipated. Can't go wrong dining here.
Wonderful find close to our hotel! The focaccia was DIVINE! It seriously melted in your mouth, with the extra salt and dipping olive oil, it was really AMAZING! The romanesco sauce with grilled vegetables was super tasty and the pasta excellent. A big YES as to would I recommend this restaurant to a friend.
We went with all the family. Service was fast. Food was ok. Nothing extraordinary
We ate lunch at Tratto prior to seeing Cursed Child at the Curran. We had a reservation and arrived just when they opened. We were given a choice of a large or small table and we chose the larger table next to the window. Our server was no. Ice and friendly. She answered questions about the food and checked back frequently. The food was really good. No scrimping in lunch service the pasta was perfect and the sauces were spot on. She even brought me a birthday dessert although I not said it was my birthday! Must be that the app told them. But whatever the reason it was a wonderful surprise!
Fresh made pasta was nice, but otherwise we weren’t too thrilled with our food. Yelp pictures made the ambience of this place seen a lot “fancier” than it actually is.
Theater dinner. Everything was terrific
Ate here between Harry Potter play, they got us seated and served quickly! Food and service was excellent!
Great value and especially great when attending plays at The Curran theatre in San Francisco. Will go back again!!!
Minestrone tasted good but served lukewarm. Lettuce in salad was limp, didn’t seem very fresh. All the food seemed pretty mediocre.
Great dining experience. Food and service was excellent!
Our waiter didn’t seem thrilled to be there, but the food & cocktails were good.
The service was very good, attentive. The restaurant was almost empty so I hope that was not a typical day.
The salad greens were kind of wilted, could have been fresher, crispier.
Warmly greeted and promptly seated thanks to our Open Table reservation. A varied, yet not overwhelming menu (both food and drink.) For example, they offered one brand of each varietal of wine and a handful of both beers and cocktails. Our server did well in answering any questions we had and helped patiently with those who just couldn't decide. No daily specials - read into that as you will. Personally, I think it's a good thing.
The Spinach Tagliatelle, Three Meat Bolognese was a pretty safe choice based upon the previous reviews and it certainly did not disappoint! Perfectl Perfectly cooked pasta with just the right amount of bolognese. It'll be tough to order differently next visit.
A very nice Tiramisu and Affogato finished off the meal.
Service was very attentive, yet not intrusive - probably knowing the show schedule at the nearby Curran. (We had plenty of time between Harry Potter, Part 1 and 2, to enjoy all Tratto had to offer.)
This is a great location if you're going to the theatre and the space is really cool. Was warm and inviting and upbeat. The lobby next door, where you go to use the restrooms, is amazing. The food was truly delicious (spicy polenta fries, foccacia, crab arrancini, gnocchi with braised beef) but the server while so nice, was a little slow and our cocktails took a good 10 mins and then we had to remind him about one of our missing starters. But we'd go again!
Everything was so good- tried two of the salads and two pastas and they were all amazing
A pleasant surprise in the Theater District. May become our new go-to.
The theatre prixe fixe menu was very helpful, as we were between the 2 Harry Potter shows at the Curran and had limited time. We had time to spare, and had a lovely dinner.
The service was super slow and the food was bland. But the drinks are good - I would only recommend coming here for the bar, not the food
Enjoyable lunch before attending ACT performance with friends. Food was good, menu somewhat limited. We all enjoyed the mushroom/garlic pizza, among other menu selections. Iced tea was refilled without requesting it, but had to ask for coffee refills.
Pleasant surroundings. Noise level fairly low. Restaurant is very convenient to the theaters on Geary. Would return.

スタッフも雰囲気も最高でした!
This is a casual to moderate spot with a solid menu and very good service.
Great for a pre-show meal or any time.
Close to theaters. Chopped Italian salad was OK, minestrone soup had more flavor. High-energy Happy Hour/ pre-theater crowd on a Thursday.
Great food and the wait staff did a great job of making sure that we made it to the theatre on time.
We had dinner there. Delicious. Tagliatelle with bolognese and gnocchi with braised beef. We also had a good lunch here. Reservations are recommended. If you have a play to get to, they’ll accommodate your schedule.
Good food! Place is a little noisy, but the service was good!
Food was delicious, with ample portions, and very reasonable prices!
Modern twists on Italian food. Limited non-alcoholic beverages.
Service was great but food was cold and made me sick.
We went for my roommates birthday
The best pasta EVER.
Quick and helpful service to get us to our show, and. Theater price fixe menu
Great location! Very good food and excellent service made for a fun evening
