The service was the best we have had in San Francisco. Great recommendations from the server. House made Italian sodas were delicious. We had Polenta fries, butter lettuce salad with green goddess dressing, and roasted grape prosciutto pizza. All delicious and plenty of food for two people. Had the Italian donuts and an affogato with housemade gelato for dessert- both amazing.
I went there for my 50th birthday celebration, this was stated on booking and by my husband earlier in the day! I booked this restaurant as I read that they would help me celebrate, nothing was done acknowledged or even when I informed them said nothing! The waiter rolled his eyes every time we asked for anything and had to go and get another server! Totally disappointed and the food wasn’t good! Thanks Tratto for the birthday disappointment
Not bad at all -- just ordinary. Very limited, odd menu. If I ever go back I'll order soup & small plates. (The minestrone was outstanding as was the bruschetta.) The pasta entrees were just not very good --- the pasta was overcooked and underseasoned. Considering they only have a handful of entrees on the menu you'd think they'd do them better. The description of the place said "buzzy vibe." I have no idea what that means unless it refers to table after table of millennials looking at their phones and not talking to each other. If I rated this place on the entrees only it would be 1 star. Service was efficient but not warm or welcoming.
Excellent find. Truly delicious . We will return on next trip to San Francisco.
good location, nice and specious, liked tea with pot service
It was our last night In SF and Trattoria was a great place to enjoy it. It was lively and spacious and I loved the contour landscape on the wall. We we're served promptly and our waiter was knowledgable and attentive. The wine and Itslian sodas and all the food was terrific. A great night. Two small things we're not ideal though. First, the salad and the pasta came out at the exact same time. I wanted to eat my salad, but the pasta was getting cold so I switched to the pasta, then finished my meal with the salad. Not what I wanted to be doing. The other thing wad that i got several big knots of fettuccine, clumps that were not seperated well. It tasted fine but looked rather homely. A trifle I suppose,
Great food and good service. I loved the decor. A bit noise because it is in a hotel, but overall was a great dinner before going to a show.
Nothing special. Ordinary flavours - as if it is a hotel restaurant serving captive audience.
Good food in a casual setting
Outstanding dining experience!! Will definitely be back!
Excellent food and service!
I indicated when making reservation we had two significant birthdays in our party. No mention was made of this while we were there.
Met our expectations. Service was good and fast
Pretty cool place. The best arugula salad I’ve ever had, WOW. I had the chicken and it was great. Not 5 stars ‘cause it’s noisy, but maybe I’m getting old.
Exceeded my expectations, all went so smoothly. We had an early 5 pm reservation and let our server know we wanted to be done by 6:15 to head to Hamilton, he said no problem and I was at ease to enjoy my meal. The decor is great and loved the pic worthy hotel lobby. I had a seasonal strawberry kiwi Italian soda with Vodka and it was unique and delicious. We started with the canneloni then had our pizza and salad. Loved all three. We were out the door by 6:15!
Yummy and well-crafted Brunch cocktails! Friendly and professional service. Grape Pizza and Spinach Pasta with Three-Meat Bolognese we’re both delicious!
Expensive for what was served . A $48 bottle of wine tasted like a $5 bottle of wine.
Everything was fine, however I did mention in the open table reservation that this was for a milestone birthday but unfortunately that was not acknowledged during our visit.
Fuimos dos días seguidos pues quedamos felices el primero! Jose uno de los gerentes nos atendió espectacular y en general el staff es muy agradable y la comida exquisita!
Relatives were taking me out to lunch for my birthday in the downtown area, so I suggested Tratto. I’ve had dinner there, and since my family enjoyed our experience, I thought that this would be a good time to try their lunch menu. We all enjoyed our meal yesterday - especially the pizza and Italian doughnuts for dessert!
The food was okay. The service was pretty good. The atmosphere was odd. There are plenty of better Italian restaurants in the City.
Some relatively unique dishes very well prepared for a tasty meal. House made soda with a different flavor each day - the flavors are strong, but good. The deserts are really good too.
Food was delicious and we were served really fast.
Wonderful street views and food
Horrible service. Terrible slop food.
Exactly what I had been craving after backpacking in Yosemite for a week. Thank you all very much.
extremely loud; food varied between bland and not edible
Very simple! No bread offering which most Italian restaurants provide. Server took slightly unfinished dishes away too quickly. Noise level of the open space was way too loud with voices bouncing off the hard walls and floor.
Great spot! The food was incredible!
Very nice location. The pizza was good, the summer cocktail as well.
Great family-sized salads, table red blend, and meatballs.
Enjoyes a lovely dinner with family. We are the Duck Confit, Short Ribs, Piazza Margarita and orchiette pasta with broccolini pesto- Something for everyone!
Recommend the restaurant, not the roasted chicken.
The Hilton on Union Square recommended you. What a neat spot! The food was terrific and we hard a hard time choosing just on entree for each of us. The SummaTime cocktail special was also delicious. We would highly recommend this spot!
Convenience was the main reason we went to Tratto after a long day of walking. The food was just ok. My husband's gnocchi was pretty good but my cannelloni was bland and gummy. An Italian restaurant should be ashamed to serve such poor pasta. The service was friendly but not efficient. Would not go back and would not recommend.
Great value hotel conveniently located right next to The Marker Hotel. Simple choices served well with friendly staff
Appetizers are AMAZING! We had a window seat and loved the entire meal!
Great place in the Union Square area. Good food, reasonable prices, will definitely be back next time in town.
We were looking for a new restaurant for brunch and stumbled on Tratto while walking around the area near our hotel. The reserved tables were on the corner by the windows and spaced far enough apart that we were able to converse easily even though the restaurant was full. We ordered the French toast (two very thick slices of brioche browned to perfection), eggs Benedict which were perfectly done, and the breakfast pizza (with Parmesan, thinly sliced speck, and a poached egg). There were so many enticing items on the menu that making a choice was difficult! The food was excellent. The service was attentive without being cloying. The atmosphere was relaxing.
Food was delicious, ambience was nice, good location, price was good. The main problem is that it took quite a while to get hold of our waiter for ordering, paying etc.
