All the options were really good.
I had a great dinner with great service tonight! Thank you for a great meal.
Very reasonably priced for the Union Square area. Service was excellent, food is good not great. Noise level is high.
As usual everything was great
The braised pot roast was succulent! The meat melts in your mouth. I would highly recommend it! The server told us that it serves 4-5 people, when it actually is more fitting for 2-3.
Great food, pizza was awesome. Wine jug is such great value!
It was delicious but the main dining room was loud. The mural in the side room is very interesting. The drinks were delicious.
Love the meatballs
Great food and if you are going to ACT, The Curran, SF Playhouse, or Marine’s Memorial, you can’t beat the location. Hostess was wonderful and waiters were friendly, but a little slow and innatentive.
The service was great and my burger, while not being worth $18, was really good. And the juice is bottomless! Highly recommended.
Incredible food - surprisingly so. This is much better than the typical pre-theater Union Square offerings. Unfortunately the noise was almost unbearable. Will try again on a slower night.
Loved the food and the place. However, when all the tables were full, it was very loud making conversation at my table tough to hear.
We had one of the best ever meals at Tratto. It was recommended by a friend and am so grateful because it exceeded my expectations. Must have reservations, especially during happy hour and dinner. Service from the hostess who seated us, the main waiter and the rest of the crew, was really great. We shared plates and were able to taste so many different dishes. Started with warmed assorted olives, something new and excellent with cocktails. Next, chicory salad with soft Barrata cheese - this cheese takes every kind of salad a couple notches up. Crispy pork belly - to die for. Soft cubes of tasty pork belly cooked soft then deep fried to give it a crispy exterior, served over a sweet jam. Can't get this dish out of my mind, it was so good. The canneloni was perfect. Hard to find this dish on most menus anymore. This one was served piping hot in a casserole dish, right out of the oven as it should be. A perfect ending to a most delicious 4 course meal. Can't wait to visit San Francisco again, just to dine at Tratto's. Can't stop thinking about this great restaurant experience.
Dinner in the back room is so much more pleasant than in the main room, as you are able to hear yourself think. We had the meatballs to start and although they were a bit dry the sauce and especially the polenta made them a delight. The fried chicken thighs were not very exciting, but the eggplant canneloni was top notch. Molten chocolate cake for dessert was excellent and a bargain at $9.
Not great. Breakfast menu looks good. Eggs Benedict simple and not fresh at all. Avoid it. Servife quite bad.
Excellent breakfast and our waiter was great. Food was hot and service fast. They kept the coffee coming and were very attentive to our needs.
Everything tastes like magic. The polenta fries are my favorite, followed by the calamari, then the grape pizza. I normally don’t eat sugar cause I am pretentious AF,but the donuts with the bourbon sauce will change your life.
Great location, not too expensive and food was good.
Server was slow and inattentive. Nothing special about the food ... chicken was bland
Liked the quiet and warmth of the back room!
We loved the pasta and the chicken breast was excellent. good service, good food, portions just right.
Kali was a great hostess. Food was good but not great.
We all loved our dinner at Tratto's. There were nine of us and we all have very different likes/dislikes etc., and Tratto's met them all. Thank you for a great meal/experience.
The waitress was helpful and cheery. The gnocchi with ragu was delicious. The warm olives were delicious if a bit overpriced. Overall the meal was tasty and served with a smile. Thanks tratto!
Had lunch in a group of 6. Everything was very good. Recommend for lunch
Casual but hip environment. Excellent food for reasonable prices. Duck confit and celery root tortellini was delicious.
Surprised with quality and the prices. Great find! Will definitely come back again.
The lunch menu is sparse but everything we ordered was delicious, and reasonably priced.
We had out of town guests. They thoroughly enjoyed the meal. The mushroom pizza and salmon were excellent. We actually ordered a second pizza because it was so good.
Great as usual 🤗
Valentine’s dinner, we had a good time:)
Food was great and service was excellent.
Boyfriend and I ate here for Valentine's Day and it was a weird meal, but a great one. Even for Valentine's, the restaurant wasn't too crowded and the noise level was totally normal for a San Francisco restaurant. We ordered focaccia (perfect) and drinks to start- they have a great cocktail menu. Very much enjoyed my Green in Winter.
The weirdness started when we ordered our entrees. I got the pappardelle and he ordered the bucatini- but what arrived at our table a few minutes later was decidedly not bucatini. To be honest, we couldn't figure out what it was beyond that it wasn't bucatini. Approximately a minute later our server arrived with the lost bucatini and we, confused, ate our food. Both dishes were amazing- perfect amounts of sauce and great noodles.
At the end of our meal we were given cute mini gift bags of granola. I did not see anyone else receive these, so maybe it was conciliatory granola for the mix-up earlier? Definitely not mad about it (is it possible to be mad about free granola?)
Overall, a great dinner, some confusing notes, but nothing that really detracted from our meal. We'll definitely be returning to try some of the other items on the menu!
Great cocktails. Several vegetarian options, both small plates and entrees. Fun place to be, especially if you find yourself in the Theater District. Very convenient to ACT Theater on Geary.
the food was really pretty good and prices reasonable. hard to find decent places in the theatre district. but the main dining room was incredibly noisy, but we were moved to an alcove, which was much better.
The only major problem with this restaurant is the noise level. It is SO loud you can't hear the other people at your table (or the servers) or carry on any sort of a conversation. Otherwise, good value for the money.
Loved restaurant redo & food! Service slow tho... Can't wait to return!
Waiter was very attentive. Nice atmosphere. Chicory salad was lightly dressed with a delicious vinaigrette. All in all a very nice meal. Oh, and bell cap in the adjoining hotel was quite pleasant and helpful.
Excellent food, reasonable price, portion size just right. Spoil yourself and go.
Great location for an early dinner before the theater. Food is good though I didn’t see any indication that they use organic and sustainable meats, which matters to me. But their house made papparadelli noodles are great and add the roasted vegetables as a side dish and you’ve got a great vegetarian meal for $23+ tax and tip. Yum! Great cocktails too which of course will quickly double your bill.
