Friendly staff, good food
the new reboot of tramonto is on the way to becoming a very nice addition to the area. we will be back
Went to celebrate a birthday. Have been here many times before and was really looking forward to a lovely evening. The new owners also own Mima and Zuppa’s, which are wonderful restaurants. This I’m sorry to say, falls far short of the others. ALL of the food, including a$60 porterhouse steak arrived at the table luke warn. Steak came to the table and it came complete with congealed. There were 4 of us, and while I certainly knew this was going to be on the expensive side, that would have been find if the food quality and service were worth it. Bill came to $400 for nothing more than mediocre, room-temperature food . Such a disappointment
Food came out barely hot. Service was terrible. Food average with a very big bill. Sorry to see this great location. Be so disappointing!
We were two old (in both senses of the word) friends having an early dinner before a movie on a Saturday night. Food was excellent. So was service (especially because the chef and waiter made a special effort to satisfy the need for one of us to avoid dairy products). Bus-people were omnipresent and very gracious. Ambiance was lovely; lots of space between tables; lovely soft lighting. Very quiet when we arrived for our 5:15 reservation; crowded when we left at 6:30, but still quiet enough for conversation, which was lively at all the tables. Reasonable pricing, considering the quality of the food and the service. We will certainly be back.
Excellent food and service. Great selection for restaurant week
The service was attentive but not intrusive . The new, modern interior was a nice change. We were there for restaurant week but the full menu looked worth going back to try. My salmon, salad and bread pudding dessert was delicious.
We we’re celebrating our 31st wedding anniversary. Tramonto has always been a favorite. We arrived to find that it has new owners, redecorated and new staff. Everything was lovely, the food was delicious, the service was outstanding. Perfect dinner.
Congrats on this "refresh" of a great restaurant , part of the Zuppa family....Already have a return reservation planned and spreading the word. Thank you Dana and staff for making us so comfortable....Hospitality is your middle name! Leone
Food was delicious . New owners have spruced the decor a bit and created an interesting new menu
It was a nice surprise to discover that this restaurant was taking part in HVRW when we visited. Bice choices including a stuffed mushroom appetizer,, risotto balls, arugula salad and a daily soup. Secondi choices included a pasta with short rib ragout, pork marsala, chicken dish wi and salmon. Flavors were nice, but not amazing. All of the dishes were aptly prepared and beautifully plated, but temperature if the food was not hot, at all. Pannetone bread pudding with a small scoop of gelato was fabulous - the highlight of the meal! I might consider trying this place again, as the service was attentive, polite and knowledgeable.
Now part of the Zuppa and Mima Vinoteca Italian Restaurant Family - Tromonto has very good food (eggplant crispy hot meatballs for an app ($15), Lobster pasta in a spicy tomato sauce ($29) and Chicken Scarp on the bone ($24)
Excellent service by Luis H. All the food and drinks were at reasonable prices.
Drinks were excellent - 2 glasses of house Cabernet at $12, ice cold large Kettle One Martini for $14 and a large Spaten Oktoberfest draft beer for $7.
Some minor improvements (all of which are fixable) are needed to get that 5th Star:
A full sized Lobster claw and tail came with the pasta. Both were tender, but the claw required a cracker to take it out of the shell - there was really no room on the table for this type of messy wet operation
Very noisy in the dining room with the bar
No window coverings and very few pictures on the wall - the place had a clean look more like an Adirondack ski lodge
We sat at a small table for 2 with a whobly base which was barely big enough for the food
Two day old hard bread
Eggplant meatballs were great, but the 4 small meatballs were small for an appetizer
The Owner/Manager asked what kind of Sambuca I wanted - this is the first time I've ever been asked that question and I couldn't remember the name "Romana" which is $33 retail for a 750ml bottle - Instead he poured me some cheap brand that was not even drinkable, i had the waited take it off the bill
We'll be back the food and service was way above par.
good foodmgreat service. A little too noisy for my taste
We made reservations and decided we wanted a grab a happy hour drink prior to eating. After purchasing a drink we were asked how long we planned to leave because she had a reservation at the bar. We didn’t know why she asked us because there were many people at the bar
The dinner service adequate but there seemed to be confusion with the staff. The only person who did a great job was the bus boy.
The portions were small but the food was good.
New owners. A bit of a disappointment. Favorites like cacio pepe pasta are gone Instead, there are some thoughtful dishes but new takes on old classics like chicken scarp don’t work — some pieces of chicken on the bone and I was digging bone and gristle out of my mouth. Desserts were uninspired. Hope it improves once they’re over growing pains.
Very nice meal! Empty but it was Tuesday. Nice spot for date night.
This was our second time at Tramonto. Staff very accommodating. Very quiet. Great food. Would recommend.
First, we had early reservation at 4:45 had asked for corner quiet table. They wouldn't seat us in the quieter dining area I assume because no one else was there. They seated us in the front. a little noisy with the bar and tv at the other end of the room. About ten minutes later another couple came in and they proceeded to bring them to the quieter dining area they wouldn't let us sit in. Perhaps the other folks were "regulars" but certainly a bad impression to not acknowledge our specific reservation request and then ten minutes later letting someone else into the quieter area.
Second, the waiter at first was stretched between bar and us (no one else was there until the second coulee came in) he was friendly enough however.
Third, food was good- but nothing exceptional
Food has gotten excellent since hiring Chef Greg. For a while it lost its excellence but now every time we go, we are more pleased than the time before!! Keep it up...we love you guys and want to see Tramonto serving the community for many more years.
Seems like the waiter had to many tables he was not allways present. but when he was he was good.
The food was mediocre i had eggplant it really was not very good ! i was dissapointed
I had lunch with a friend during the workday. It was my first time there and I will definitely be back to see what dinner is like. The people couldn’t be nicer! From the greeting I got at the door to the smiles and accommodating our requests at our table. They really were lovely. Very warm. I had a personal pizza and my friend had a panini, both were good. I will go back with my husband for a full, dinner to see more what a “fuller” food experience is like.
Have been to Tramonto several times in the last 8 months and it is consistently great in all aspect of the restaurant experience.
Always good food and service. The soft shell crabs were excellent. excellent reasonably priced wines and you are always greeted with a smile upon entering
Great welcoming atmosphere. Excellent food. First rate service. Will definitely dine there next time in the area.
The food is very very good and they have a nice wine selection, particularly a tasty Chardonnay which is my favorite wine. This was our fourth visit to Tramonto and we will definitely be back again soon.
Consistently excellent food. Not a large menu but what they do make they make right.
Great food. Good service. The waiter was very kind about our sleeping six year old and waited to make her dinner u til we were about to leave so it would be hot when we got home. Had the veal milenase. It was delicious. The salads were beautiful and fresh. Great food.
Always the best service and food. Never disappointed here and never rushed.
Service was slow and very inattentive. Server was wearing a jacket that looked like she had just come in from outside. Long wait for food - and then my appetizer arrived with the entree (pasta). I returned the pasta, and when I was ready for it I received a bowl of noodles that were all stuck to each other and only warm. I chose to just eat some of it, as I was in the middle of a business lunch. Empty glass of seltzer, until I got server’s attention. Very poor experience.
always a reliable staple! good food, good service and quiet enough to have a nice conversation with your dining pals!
Delicious salad good service
We went for Hudson Valley Restaurant Week with some friends. Menu was very good. I didn't care for the butternut squash soup, but the clams and rest of meal were very very good. Area we were in was cold when we arrived, but they did make it warmer after we asked the waiter to adjust it. All in all a nice meal.
A recent Wonderful dining experience at this restauran by my lunch guest initiated our lunching experience today. The HVRW opportunity always is a good way to check out restaurants. The HVRW menu was not great; and so we moved off menu and I spent way over what I had thought to do.. not to mention the hamburger... yes hamburger, was way over cooked. Asked for ground black pepper for my salad..no one shows up. My dining companion loved her order of chicken francis ... too much food for 1pm...brownie was over-nuked .. we left it and the pistachio ice cream ...best was the apple salad and espresso single shot.. which is where I should have stopped.... $90 later... forget about it. Hostess told me to just take a seat.. I was not seated with menu. You can look at some of my reviews.. I am not one to complain... but, I go to restaurants for dining experiences... and I guess I got one! Also, waiter did not charge me for the hamburger.. which was kind.. and he offered to cook another hamburger for me... I declined .. but thanked him. I’ll try again.... some other time.
Always great food and good service.
Been coming to Tramonto forever. Consistently good food and excellent service. The pastas are top notch and some of the traditional Italian dishes are great.
Our favorite restaurant always a great meal
Great food and attentive yet unobtrusive service. The regular menu alone has some of our favorites, but the rotating specials are always a treat. My gf raves about the gnocchi.
Nice place great food
