Trama's at One Willow
First time at Trama's was a hit. We loved the atmosphere inside as well as the great views outside. It is well situated for a nice romantic dining experience on the water. The fried clam appetizer was great. We had the simply cooked fish that was broiled and served with broccolini. We had the mahi and the halibut and both were fresh and excellent. A nice night out.
Great view of the Sandy Hook Bay. Great place to unwind and relax at the outside bar
Beautiful view,great food,great service,dog friendly
Beautiful setting, lovely menu
Loved atmosphere and wait staff , food was also good but a bit pricey
Food was very good. service was excellent. we didin't know to request outside, so sat inside sadly, on a very nice day, but will no better for next time. will be back.
Our first visit to this Restaurant in August 10 was very nice Specially Jason one of the restaurant manager is professional and Respectful to Customers we give him A+ The Best Roya and Jim
We did Dock and Dine with our friends and it was great!
We had 5:30 reservations on a Friday night and we we're in our car on the way home by 6:15, keep in mind both me and my husband shared an appetizer , ordered separate entrees and my husband ordered a dessert. We tried to savor our microscopic meals unsuccessfully and left this establishment hungry and dissatisfied. Come here for drinks outside after dining @ one of the byob places in town.
This place is superb in every way! The ambiance is stunning with beautiful water views from almost every table indoor and out. The food is excellent and beautifully prepared. Portions are generous. Though service can be on the slower side, we were in no hurry, our server was delightful, and the food worth waiting for. I hope this restaurant will continue to be so successful! A wonderful addition to Highland’s many fine choices.
Bartender provided excellent service. However, our server was inattentive at times. She was focusing her attention on a large party nearby and became passive aggressive when we were forced to ask for things. Food was excellent, so much so that we’d try again even though the service was poor.
I have recommended the restaurant. It is a beautiful dining experience. A great treasure
Beautiful new restaurant. 5 of us lunched on a lovely summer Sunday on the deck, under awning. The bar below on the marina side appeared lively. Being right on the water was very nice. Server was sweet, but a novice. When asked a menu question (whether mussels could be served in the butter sauce), rather than collect them all (portion sizes, ingredients), along with our orders, she left to get answer from the kitchen. Not a big deal, but showed her level of expertise. Also, no offer of bread, no salt and pepper or serving utensils. We understand how challenging it is to get “summer” help. The food & presentation were good enough. The menu is adequate. Prices are high. A 5 oz. cocktail was $14, which I guess is the expected waterfront cost. Lunch for 4: bisque, tuna tacos, mussels, 2 salads, (don’t bother with the $14 chopped salad - just lettuce really plus 1/2 dozen cherry tomatoes), 2 sandwiches, 2 beers, 1 wine, 1 cocktail= $200+. The “smart casual” dress code apparently means baseball caps, bare feet, open shirts ok. This restaurant just needs to up their game a bit. We will be back to see!
"I love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. I definitely would return to try more dishes. The potato-leek soup was amazing and the Bibb lettuce salad was refreshing. The table was split on the monkfish – one person thought it was great, but another felt that the tastes didn't quite mesh. Everyone loved the flat iron steak. Service was well-timed and friendly, wines were affordable."
We had a lovely dinner at Trama's. First time there since it opened. Food and service were wonderful and the cocktail list was amazing
Would recommend for the outside bar and outside dining but with the caveat that it is on the pricey side. Servers could use more training and polish. They need to know to bring over serving utensils plus the food to be shared. I don't want to have to keep asking for things needed to complete the dinner when it should be automatic knowledge on their part. I do like the fact that the food is brought out immediately from the kitchen by food runners so that it arrives hot to the table.
I really want this place to do well. The atmosphere is beautiful. The staff was very friendly, especially the manager Kevin and our server Bella. Can't say enough great things about them. The food was good, not great. But good enough that I would go back given the atmosphere and staff. Now... here's my constructive criticism. We arrived an hour prior to our reservation to have a couple drinks at the bar before dinner. We settled in at the restaurant bar as there were plenty of open stools and the outdoor bar was quite crowded. We sat in our stools for quite some time before we were able to order a drink. No bartender approached us. It wasn't until we said "excuse me, can we order a drink?" The same thing happened when we were ready for our second cocktail. I hope they are able to remedy this as I really want to be a loyal customer.
Fantastic place for everything: dinner, drinks, entertainment, sightseeing. Outstanding food! Great service! Another Perfection from Pat Trama!
Great. Ambience and food were terrific.
beautiful view sunset
Our first visit to One Willow didn’t disappoint! We had the amazing crab cocktail, Salmon and Branzino. All were delicious and the fish perfectly cooked. Great wine selection, great service and we cant wait to go back!
Food and service were amazing!
Location is beautiful, the fish had no flavor and sides wee undercooked. The mussels were served in a sauce that tasted like Ragu from a jar. Will not be coming back. We love the original Trama, this is just all bad. Servers have no knowledge of the menu or how to serve
Food, service, outdoor dining were all terrific . But at 6 pm the band came on which was way too loud - to the point that we couldn’t talk anymore so skipped desserts, coffee and after- dinner drinks just to get away from the overwhelming noise. So loud in fact that it spread across the whole marina. They should provide music that enhances the overall dining experience of their guests rather than overpowering them with a loud bar band designed to attract boaters cruising by on the river. We already have several restaurants that use the “loud music to suck in the boaters” formula. Tramas is far too elegant for this with really great food and service. Hopefully they might consider aligning their entertainment to match the rest of their classy atmosphere. Good luck Tramas. We really hope you become a huge success.
One of the plates that were handed to us had a tomato stuck underneath it
We reserved outside dining on Open Table. We were told they couldn’t guarantee that when we asked why we were seated inside. If we wanted outside dining we had to get on a list then. We were just brought our appetizers, lobster bisque soup was cold, and then immediately two of our entrees were brought out. The waitress apologized and the entrees were sent back.
We were celebrating our daughter ‘s engagement. Our server Bella was very gracious and answered our questions. She came often to check on our needs. Kerri, the lady that helped me with the reservation was very helpful. Bella presented us with champagne toast . We sat on the southern side overlooking the water. We were near the entertainment and at times we couldn’t hear each other. Overall we thought the evening was great!!! It was a perfect evening—- even the weather cooperated. My daughter and her fiancé commented that it felt as if we were away on vacation!!! I want to thank Bella and your entire staff for making the evening so special!
My sincere thanks,
This was out third time at Trama. We love the food and the view. Eat outside and you feel as if you're on vacation. We’ve eaten inside, outside at the bar and outside at a table. The raw shellfish are sooo fresh and delicious. Fried clam bellies are as good as you’re gong to get in New Jersey.
One complaint. Service can be sketchy. The first time we were there dishes were scraped at the table. Last week we had to ask for water three different times. Even when the person was pouring water, she walked right past our table. The waiter came to ask how everything was half way through the meal. A bit too late if there was an issue. These issues ca be remedied easily. Everything else is wonderful.. Training staff better would make this experience next to perfect.
The food was outstanding, topped only by the exceptional service!!!
A beautiful place, with scenic views of the water, and nicely arranged table floor plans. Service was fine. Wine list was good. The East Coast oysters were fresh, though very small for $18; the halibut was excellent. The restaurant seems very adept with seafood, which is great. Definitely will return. Noise level on an early Wed. night was fine.
With beautiful views of the bay, great dinner with a very experienced bartending staff and restaurant management. Clams were on the small side but very sweet. Grilled halibut was cooked to perfection. Salad was large and very fresh. We will be back soon!
We had a fabulous lunch here food and service were fantastic pat and his staff always deliver the best
I was disappointed because I ordered the Halibut and they gave me MAHI MAHI. I was eating it, not knowing they made a mistake and thought it was dry. I then had my friend try a bite and he said it wasn’t halibut. I told the waitress and all she did was adjust the price. I only ate half of it because I wasn’t too fond of it because it was dry and over cooked MAHI MAHI. I would have thought the restaurant would have comped me or at least gave me a free dessert, they did nothing.
My review is not to criticize our waiter but the overall service - we ordered drinks before dinner at the bar and the bartender put down a check for $40.25 for 2 drinks with no listing just the total - I questioned it after listening to the people next to us complain that their bill was high and then received our correct bill for $19 - I found the incident odd. We had a 7:15 reservation and had to wait to sit which was fine and we sat by 7:30 and dis not order right away but our dinner was at our table by 8 and we were still eating our apps. My dinner was fish and although the waiter said he took it back and they would make a new one it was obvious they did not. We asked to let the manager know and he never stopped at our table although he walked by many times. we have been to Trama in long branch and loved bay point inn which this restaurant replaced so a little disappointed - maybe will try again after the summer
A work in progress, requires some fine tuning, from wait staff to food selections. Beautiful location, lovely bar .
Excellent food and attentive staff . We sat as soon as we walked in and a great experience started . We frequent the Trama Tratorria in LB and figured we would give this a try . Congrats to the Tramas’ for keeping the passion on resteurant #2 !
Excellent views, creative menu
The grilled fish was just fine. Wish they had other side dishes beside broccolini, though. Our friends had cod dipped in tempura. The tempura was not what was received. It was too thick and a bit difficult to eat. They ate the fish and left the tempura. Service was outstanding. Dessert was also very good.
Beautiful location and outstanding food. A bit pricey, but certainly worth it. The best Shore location in the area.
Fun girls bday dinner!
