Service was slow and out of sync. Communication about issues was slow. Appetizers arrived and were completed before drinks.
Server was attentive and nice. Had the Porchetta Lau Lau, very rich and tasty. Love the coconut cake too.
This place is probably better for folks coming down from salesforce at the end of the work day. Service was nice but the food was not cheap and really not well done, except for the poke tacos. Lobster had hardly any meat and was really overdone.
Waiter sat us down and left for the day. Didn’t get another waiter until we flagged someone down. Asked for condiments and never came until we finished our meal.
The menu prices are pretty high. I chose the most expensive : Lobster and scallop dish - literally one scallop and a lobster tail that didn't have that much meat, more tofu on the dish than lobster - I was greatly disappointed. The ahi tuna poke appetizer and the fish entree were good. We would not have dined here if we didn't have a voucher to use.
I have been to Trailblazer Tavern before, and ordered cocktails and an appetizer, which I think is the way to go.
The dinner was good but heavily overpriced for what it was- the Spam Musubi is the standout star -original and plated with perfection- but the entrees were underwhelming for the price point.
Partially, you pay for the lively atmosphere, which is certainly exciting- good for clients or introducing people to San Francisco for their first time- but not good for wanting to be satiated after dinner.
That said, the service was excellent; attentive and professional.
Go for drinks and SPAM musubi!
Open atmosphere, good appetizers and friendly service.
Great service and food!
Fun dining spot with a sense of humor and terrific well prepared food
Go for happy hour, hang out at the bar area. Dinner service however, is slow. We had a 6pm reservation (i think is still pretty early at night) and they already "ran out" of their signature Pork Lau Lau entree. So we're seated with other tables that were served while our table looks over. It was weird how do you run out of food at the beginning of dinner service especially knowing you had reservations for the night. Our food took forever to arrive. The food was great, i was expecting more Hawaiian insipred dishes but i found myself eating what felt like mostly korean fusion dishes. Maybe if i was able to order that Lau Lau dish it wouldve felt different. Our server was nice, but she barely checked in on us and we found ourselves having to flag her for assistance. Still, the place is cute. The food was good. Overall, i still prefer Michael Mina's PABU over this place.
Nice variety of menu items. Excellent dessert. Very attentive service.
This is the second time I have been to this restaurant. My whole family enjoyed and amazing experience. The food, service and cleanliness was beyond GREAT! Love this place and this team. We will be making more reservations soon!
Pre-concert surprise for friends and was a great experience. Jerry and his staff made for a culinary delight
A little hard to find and feels a little odd being inside a corporate lobby - but it did not take me long to forget about that once I had some food in front of me.
Excellent service as well.
I will eat there again and have recommended it to several friends and colleagues already.
Food and cocktails were good but felt a bit like we were eating in the food court of a mall. The bar has a nicer atmosphere and I'd definitely go back for drinks. Overall Trailblazer was good but not great.
Great eclectic Hawaiian menu. Service was poor. They initially brought us all the wrong food and then we waited another 15 minutes to receive the correct plates.
Yummy food, very super casual vibe, not so casual prices.
Wonderful food. Waitress was great
Food was DELICIOUS. It was a little loud since the dining area is next to the bar and it was happy hour on a Friday night, but we didn’t mind it. Everything was delicious; wish we could have tried everything on the menu.
Four of us went in for a business dinner. Service was pretty slow, menu is limited. One colleague ordered a drink and specially requested a dirty martini with 2 olives and ice. Instead got no ice, no olives and what looks pled and tasted like Lilliet instead of olive juice. Server didn’t automatically apologize and bring what was ordered. Same person mentioned he was doing the Keto diet and ordered the grilled octopus. Instead got the fried calamari. Also no insistence on making it right. Rest of us got what we ordered but shrimp was fishy tasting and green beans over-seasoned/salty. . Lumpia was great and so was ceviche.
Server Albert The Best
The service and food were great. The music was a bit loud making my (business) conversation a bit difficult.
Enjoyed the food very much but it is an expensive meal. I don't know if I like it enough to go back again at their price point. However, the creme brulee dessert was out-of-the-ballpark good. I would certainly go back for this if not for anything else.
Nice place, and you feel like you are in the middle of downtown San Francisco. The food was nice, but could use more effort to bring out distinctive flavors. Everything about the experience was pleasant.
Last minute booking to a restaurant nearby turned out to be an amazing meal enjoyed by all. Every dish was delicious. Great cocktail menu. Even the mushroom tempura was perfect. Highly recommended
This was a small business lunch and while the food was very good, our server was slow in bringing the food and took 20 minutes to bring the check at the end of the meal. It was like she forgot about us. Also, because of construction outside, the sound of a loud jackhammer permeated our lunch. Definitely not ideal for business lunch, which is disappointing for a Michael Mina restaurant located in the FiDi.
Outstanding service! Flavors are amazing...Huli Huli Chicken, Miso Honey Glazed Butterfish, Kalbi Short Rib and the incredible Porchetta Lau Lau. Be advised to save room for dessert! The Coconut cake was my favorite.
Excellent meal in an unexpected location (within the salesforce complex). The server was good a suggesting how to feed our group of 10 with share plates and brought out special deserts for the birthday and engagement within our group!
My Hawaiian friend and I ate here after seeing a play and enjoyed it very much. We wished it was even more tropical and had Hawaiian music playing in the background. The Opah fish dish I had was excellent and my friend had the chicken dish which was very good. We had 6:30 reservations but were disappointed that they had already run out of Lau Lau's! Parking was convenient on the metered side street.
Outstanding food. Outstanding service. Will definitely be back.
This a great restaurant!! The staff, and service is superb. We were celebrating one of friends birthday, and as a surprise, I invited another friend. The staff was able to keep my other friend hidden, and surprise our friend! The server recommended certain dishes, and we were so glad we listened to her! We started with an appetizer - ahi poke nachos - the poke melted in our mouths, and had a buttery taste. We ordered the following dishes: grilled octopus - it was very tender, and tasty; prochetta lau lau - a pleasant surprise to see it wrapped in leaves, and when untied a huge piece of pork, with shredded pork... and oh... the crunchy skin; mizo honey-glazed butterfish - it was delicious. It was so tender, sweet and buttery with each bite and melted in my mouth. We also ordered the fried rice kim chee but it was not spicy. I can't wait to come back to try other dishes.
Touted as traditional Hawaiian cuisine but shouldn't be. Hawaiian fusion would be a better description. No aloha music or spirit in the place........ interior design was nice though, but come 'on, change the music format. Very pricey, as well.......we enjoyed being there, but no plans on returning.
It was great!
Fun to try. Some things were excellent. The prix fix is probably the way to go, but we wanted to try everything. Expensive, relatively poor service.
Great food and drinks. Staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome! Overall, a wonderful dining experience!
First Class all the way.
Overpriced. Hard to find. Signage also exists on the park, atop the Salesforce Tower.
Service: poor - no one checked in after dropping off.
Way overpriced. Food was so-so. Sandwich, way to bready. No flavor.
All options seemed all cost/no food.
Will definitely tell others to avoid.
Was looking for a cool local venue to recommend to executives for food/drinks.
Great. Good food and service. Shaved ice is better than it sounds. Not just ice and sugar.
Excellent food with great service! Their grilled octopus dish is to die for. There unagi appetizer and gin coktail are both very good. It is pricey, but you're getting a great experience with wondeful food.
The space and the ambiance is great. The food is pretty good, but it may be a tad overpriced.
