Excellent food, and some of the best service I've experienced in SF in a while. Went with a group of 5 and was able to try a wide range of great dishes. Everything was paced out nicely and set up family style. Loved the Kalbi Short Ribs, Sunomono Crab Salad, Kim Chi Fried Rice, Homemade Spam Musubi. Cocktails were delicious.
We enjoyed an excellent dinner at Trailblazer on Friday, March 13. Probably because of Coronavirus, the restaurant was not as busy as normal. We both had the multiple course tasting menu and enjoyed it greatly. Its a very reasonable price at $65 each, with a wine pairing at only $15. The multiple appetizers were outstanding as were the main dishes. We were very full at the end of the meal.
We had excellent service for the entire meal.
We will definitely return to this terrific restaurant.

Always nice ambiance, unique drink options, variety of delicious plates you've probably never seen before. Always pleased with the service.
It just feels corporate-y. No tropical escape happening. Service was outstanding. Food pretty good. Dessert outstanding. Drinks were not craft level.
Excellent, attentive service. Food was tasty and innovative and gave us a chance to eat items that we would normally not be eating. Some food, such as the abalone-lobster-scallop entrée, didn't fil the bill, but the miso-glazed butterfish was excellent. With the Travelzoo coupon, it's a great deal.
Close to work - convenient and delicious. Lots of options for pescatarians.

The food was good but not worth the high price tags of $30-40 for most entrées (coming from someone very familiar with the reality SF dining prices) — perhaps because it doesn’t match the atrium environment and casual service. The standouts were the appetizers: the ahi tuna poke and the maitake mushroom tempura, both 11/10.
Food was delicious, the decor is really cool, and bar service was great. Unfortunately wait staff was inattentive throughout the meal and it took a very long time to get the check and leave.

I really want to like Trailblazer: it’s near my office and I like the concept of casual Hawaiian in the downtown. But the menu at lunch or dinner is pretty limited, prices for a full entree seem unreasonable for such a casual setting, and service is inconsistent. I’ll use it as a fallback for business lunch or drinks but still prefer other restaurants that get more things right.

We ordered food and 30 mins later chicken came out. It took another 30 mins for beef and broccoli.
My birthday lunch was made extra special with a greeting card from the staff and special dessert!

I've had the opportunity to dine here about a half dozen times. This last visit was probably the least enjoyable. The food was ok - not particularly delicious. It was lunch, and not too busy. We waited a long time for our server to first come over and then it was ridiculously slow between courses. The servers were lovely and very nice, however, a 2 hour lunch for a casual lunch - overall, not worth the wait.
Overpriced. Very small portions, but good tasting food.
The food was well prepared and arrived hot. However I think the dishes are overpriced for what you get in comparison to MM other restaurants such as International Smoke or his flagship Michael Mina.

The menu was surprisingly limited (though what we had was fine--nothing to write home about, but fine), the service wasn't super attentive (despite the fact that the restaurant was far from full), and the overall experience was pretty average. I was expecting better.

Our waiter was very strange for lack of a better word. He had an odd demeanor He almost seemed judge mental about us ordering cocktails. The Sommelier was very kind and provided excellent service. We were also pleased with the hostess and other servers that dealt with our table.
Service was very slow and they forgot one of our sides. Our reservation was at 1pm and it felt like we were the forgotten table in the corner.
Excellent and delicious food! The presentation of each dish was beautiful. Service was excellent too! Brought my friend who was visiting from Hawaii and she loved the food!
I’ve come almost every week and it doesn’t disappoint —great food, service and feel like I’m really away from it all in this little corner of paradise!
Very poor. From the hostess that didn't smile once, to the 7-8 minute wait to get greeted at the table. The food was over priced for what you got, and lacked detailed execution in the kitchen. Fries, really! Send the Chef to In and Out Burger for a day, that should help. You can really tell, just from 1 visit, that the staff is inadequately trained and overwhelmed. And I like Mina's restaurants, they just missed the mark on this one.
Awful service and two raw chickens.
They served bacon to vegetarians who ordered vegetarian dishes. Didn’t apologize or waive any charges until we asked to speak to a manager (after we paid).
You can't slap a celebrity chef's name on a restaurant and then serve mediocre food without people noticing. The porchetta tasted like a pig pen might smell. The potatoes served with the octopus were all but burned to a crisp and the octopus itself was the some of the worst I've ever been served in a restaurant. It was as though they left it under a heat lamp until they were done burning the crap out of the potatoes. Someone who appeared to the manager (he was wearing a suit) described unagi to my fellow diner like this: "it's like we have a fish and the unagi is a part of the fish." Don't even get me started about the blue/green hue emanating from the LED screen in the office lobby--it caused half of the diners to look like they were coming down with something. Maybe they were...
This place is always on point for their service and food.
Overpriced food and unenjoyable dining experience. We did the 10 tastes of Hawaii tasting menu for 2. Shockingly, we were served 6 at once with no time to enjoy the experience. We asked them to slow down repeatedly and the final four were still served together.
Despite there were not that many tables filled, we felt like we were rushed through what should have been a wonderful meal. We will not return.
