Sat at the bar..great service and recommendations
First bite of the bbque sandwich was pretty amazing.
We came for brunch and the waitress was dope! She was friendly and made us feel welcome
Love this place! Everything about it…the servers are attentive, food is delicious & your bartender Karlie is AMAZING! Will be back sooner than later!
The bathrooms were disgusting at 8pm. It wasn’t like a restaurant. It was like a frat party.
The girls at the desk accepted the reservation so I wouldn’t get penalized on OpenTable but they wouldn’t let us in. There was a college football game on tv and people wouldn’t leave even though we had a reservation. None of the surrounding restaurants had availability. Won’t go there again.
The collard greens were excellent. Not a fan of the brisket being on the dry side but it was still pretty tasty.
Spent the first 40 minutes of the visit arguing with management about whether or not we could get a drink. We had an underaged person in the party who was not drinking and only there for food, however they were insisting that everyone else at the table had to be over 25 years old in order for the rest of us to have a drink. The PA law is that one person must be over 25 in order to be able to chaperone a minor, not EVERY other person at the table. This took them over 30 minutes of arguing with us to realize. The bartender even started yelling at the server for asking to order drinks for our table. The manager apologized for the inconvenience, however a customer should not have to argue with the staff in order to teach them the law and made feel very uncomfortable.
Went for Eagles game. Service was poor to fair.
I seriously love this place, which is why this was probably my 4th time back. Had 12pm reservations so we could catch the Eagles home opener at 1, however no bloody Mary’s on this day. Our server said they were OUT of Bloody Mary mix, which was one of the reasons I was turned on to TRADESMANS. Karlie makes the best but she was off this day and they had no mix available. There’s nothing comparable to go with brunch in my eyes. Our server rushed us out without offering or suggesting anything else which kind of put me off, hence I was out in 45 minutes, no drink, and missed the beginning of the Eagles game at 1. Food was good, staff was polite but not what I had experienced in the past. Would’ve been nice if she didn’t rush the check I would’ve gotten something else at that point and obviously spent more money. Now I now to ask if Karlie is working and if there’s bloodys mix made.
Good portions were out of this world! The lamb belly was bomb the brisket bangin everything was great! Would go again
Brisket was the best thing about our visit. Chicken was a bit dry. Fries were good! Server was friendly and did her best, but with the Penn State white out crowd her plate was full. We are outside which was nice. Def a bar vibe and feel, so I won’t return, but if you like a bar I think it’s a cool vibe with decent food.
Everyone was very pleased with the food and value.
This was the second time I came here. The first time, my experience was great. The staff were very friendly and the food was good. This time, however, the waitress Payton W. was very rude. Got an attitude because we had to ask for basic things like napkins, silverware, sauce for chicken tenders, and water refills.
She proceeded to speak to my table as if we were bothering her oh so much, after we asked for ketchup and salt, and then did not check on us for the next 30 minutes, probably so that she didn’t have to do any more work. Not cool. My group was some of the nicest people she would have been dealing with that night. We tip very well, but do not expect a tip when you’re providing a low-level of service. We will NOT be back. If Payton hates her job so much, she should find something else to do. She should also try wearing her mask above her nose.
Many of us have worked service industry jobs, and while they can be tough, there is never a reason for you to be nasty to someone who is being kind to you. Looking back, I would have told her that I didn’t appreciate her attitude and simply left.
More of a bar than a restaurant, with poor food as a result. If you're drinking with your friends, it's fine. Don't bring a date here.
Me and my kids love just going to different spots to eat and explore. I love cooking so I know what taste I’m looking for in a great meal. This place was clean and the atmosphere was just relaxing. It was really cold but it was extremely hot out this day. We came in was seated quickly, we order drinks they came out. Sodas was flat and i don’t know but My watermelon adult beverage was not great at all. The waitress was ok she did her job didn’t really suggest certain items so idk. But we ordered the lamb, baby backs, fries, mash potatoes, Mac and cheese and the beans. First off there’s no meal with sides deal. The ribs and lamb was good and tender fries where good as well. The other sides I do not know what y’all put in it but please change the recipe around. I was not pleased at all with those sides. They did take them off my bill was very nice about everything. But sides do matter so as much time as you put in the meat please fix your sides.
Everything was great and the brunch was good as well! Definitely good calm vibes for a wonderful Sunday!
Great food. Nice service
Our server was nice, attentive (but not too attentive), and friendly. When we first arrived, the noise level wasn't too bad no one had to shout to be heard however as the restaurant filled up, we found ourselves having to shout to be heard. The food was really good and the drinks were tasty and creative.
Food quality overall seems to have gone downhill. The restaurant is busier now since Covid restrictions lifted - maybe that’s it?? Def not as good as it was - as an example, we ordered a side of bacon and we received a paper boat of overcooked/burnt pieces. Also - how do you run out of Diet Coke?
Food was okay. Not what I expected for some reason.
Brunch was great. Tator tots were so good as well. Rebecca was an awesome server. We had a great experience in a nice venue!
Food was excellent, service was excellent as well. It’s a larger building with a warehouse feel inside, very trendy but noise travels. We were fine with that as we talk loud ourselves. Will definitely be back!
Good food service was good
The major issue was the quality of the food. All of the meats were overcooked and dry. We ordered the lamb belly, brisket and chicken. The brisket was so dry we could not easily cut into it.
Bad management. That’s the only excuse I can think of for why the service was so bad. The food was really pretty good. We arrived 10 min early but weren’t seating for over 30 min. Then sat forgotten for 10 when one of the two hostesses slung us water. The exasperated waitress finally arrived who I think was the only one for both inside and outside.
We sat for over 40 minutes before we even got a drink! Our server was not liking her job too much! Rolled her eyes when asked for another coke or extra butter! They all seamed out of touch with customers and seamed very overwhelmed! Music was too loud and we say outside! The hostess were the only bright spot as they seamed to care about their guest!
Loved our host! Great service!
It was during the sixers game 7 when we lost. 😩
This is a new place in Central City Philadelphia. The place is nice. The food is good. The only gripe I have is the ribs needs more seasoning otherwise everything is good.
Extremely poor service, the meat is good, but sauces are well below average. Plus they are too cheap to get occupied locks for the personal bathrooms which makes going to the bathroom unnecessarily difficult. And those bathrooms are desperately in need of cleaning. I do not recommend this place for a meal.
Now that I have been there, I know that I am not the targeted demographic for this restaurant. More pictures on the website might make it clearer, but not certain about that. Trademan's is actually more of a bar, even though the food was pretty good. My husband and I, 60-somethings, were the only people there over maybe 35-ish, most younger. The music was very loud, even at noon. The back was really cold, the front was all high-tops. I didn't feel overly clean, and someone was still cleaning bathrooms downstairs from what had obviously been a busy Friday night, again at noon on Saturday.
I personally would never go again, but honestly, I recommended it to my daughter.
The waitstaff was very friendly and effective.. wish I could remember our waitress name. She was fantastic
I love to support local restaurants, and rarely offer a bad review. Unfortunately, that is not the case for our experience at Tradesman's Philadelphia. We were celebrating two birthdays, and we were a party of five. When we were seated at the table the first thing we noticed was that the top was broken off the base and wobbled , so we needed to be re-seated. Unfortunately, the food we ordered was inedible for four out of five of us. The taste of the meat was rancid and freezer burned, and the chips we got with our dip were stale. The crisped onions on top of the caramelized Brussels sprouts were also stale. Four of us ate a single bite of our meal, and could not eat any more of what was presented to us. We literally made reservations at another restaurant for the evening while sitting at the table waiting for the manager to come over. Kudos to the manager for removing the food from the bill. We also had no complaints about our server, but I feel for both her and the manager given the poor quality of the food they have to provide to customers.
Our reservation was supposed to be ins
Great food with an excellent selection of drinks and beers.
Loved it here! Great food, great service!
Great gathering spot! Good BBQ! Music, sports and drinks a plus.
It was a freaking ice box in there
Our server was outstanding. They were definitely busy and food and drinks took a bit to get out, but tasted good.
Bottomless mimosas were great! But Brunch menu has little options in my opinion. But our server Peyton was great!
