Delicious meal with great friends, exceptional drinks, and fabulous service
We had brunch and sat outside. The food quality is excellent as is the service. Background music (ACL around the corner) is noticeable, but not overpowering.
We went to see The Mavericks at ACL next door, so Trace kicked off our amazing night. Our DrinkyPoos , food and service were fabulous
Great happy hour. Excellent service and food. Love the patio.
We like going here. It is easy never too loud, and considering the location and quality the price is really a very good value.
I went to brunch and it was so much fun, the food was great, the service was great i loved it!
Great place - really enjoyed the charcuterie / cheese board!
The octopus was spectacular! Creative twists on seafood.
Not my favorite.
Everything about Trace was great, but maybe reconsider if you have a party larger than 4. We had 8 and our check was not divided by who ordered what (nor were we asked at the beginning how we wanted to pay). I have to assume that this is policy, because our wait staff was excellent. Kind and attentive.
So, the last 30 minutes of the meal were us writing in pen on the back of the receipt what we all ordered. However, everything else about the experience was great.
So, Trace, please. Help people divide the check up before/during the meal.
Have brunched and dined several times at Trace in the past and have enjoyed the experience. However, on this occasion, Valentine's Day dinner, the fixed price dinner selections (table for six) were generally subpar.
Our Valentines dinner was amazing! The steak and the desserts were the stars of the show! Definitely glad we picked Trace to celebrate valentines at.
Was not that empresses with the restaurant, service was disappointing, especially not having a coat hanger when it was raining and freezing cold outside I was wearing a big fur coat and had no where to put it. Disappointing and unacceptable for the W hotel!
Food was very good and perfect temperature. Server wasn’t all that professional-rolled her eyes at me at least once (I don’t think I’m a bad patron). When she delivered the check, she was all smiles. Maybe she was just not having a good day. I will definitely return.
Always great, Hilary has set a great standard of awesomeness. Absolutely love the entire staff but Katie and Della is our ultimate fave
There was a live DJ and the atmosphere was kicking. Lots of energy and fun
Sunday Brunch is just out of the world. Loved the DJ. Great ambience.
Fantastic meal and Service! Spare ribs were superb. Never had a bad or mediocre meal at Trace
Phenomenal dining experience. Every menu item seemed to have been reinvented from the ground up -- both creative and delicious. Looking forward to going back!
We went for brunch, number one they’ve taken their best items like the shrimp and grits and the quail and waffles off the brunch menu. The waiter we had was horrible. He had a smart mouth and he just wasn’t hospitable. And when I didn’t leave a tip he came back and asked why I stiffed him his tip and he said it was rude. So Trace is definitely off our brunch list and we go to brunch every Sunday after church. We are know as the Brunch Crew. We post and give reviews on Facebook and Instagram.
The menu lacked healthy options and vegetarian options. The Duck Chilaquiles sounded wonderful but was, in reality, nacho chips with a few pieces of duck and one egg. Staff were wonderful in accommodating changes etc, but menu needs an update.
Service was great as usual, as was the coffee and mimosa's. Most of the small plates were good, except for the Boston Cream French Toast, which leaked frying oil every time you cut into it. The last time we dined at Trace, I don't remember this being an issue. I love the energy at this restaurant, but the music was a little loud this time. It was occasionally difficult to hear the person sitting next to you.
Great food and nice staff. Good for out of town guests. Great prior to ACL show. ACL theatre is next door.
Very nice lunch special.
Everything was great except dessert. Waiter didn’t seem to care that we didn’t like the dessert. But otherwise everything was great!
The servers (particularly Prometheus) and manager (Hillary) provided superior service as usual. I’m really hooked on a few of their menu items, but have never ordered anything that disappointed me. Granted I should disclose that I’m not a picky eater, but I love the food here. I love going to Sunday brunch with DJ Kurupt - great vibe, music is always on point.
Delicious Christmas meal. Expensive.
Went in for Christmas dinner. When we asked to be seated inside instead of a covered patio, we were given some vague response about, “reservations, because reasons...” The patio was loud and the temperature was very inconsistent.
Waitress was outstanding and appropriately attentive. Menu was nicely explained and was a good selection. Waitress asked how the entrees were and when we mentioned the lamb was mostly fat with very little meat, she didn’t offer anything other than a fairly weak, “we try to trim the fat, but leave enough to be flavorful...” Sure, but that didn’t negate the fact there was very little actual meat in the entree. The prime rib was excellent and more than enough to be worth the price.
Service was nicely timed until the very end, and the wait for the check took a bit too long.
False advertising! Never mentioned in ad that it was a set menu @$60 per person for average food ! Plus $25 for bread! Never again! Rip off and so disappointing for our Christmas family dinner!
We went to Trace for a special Christmas Day 3 course dinner with family. The beet salad appetizer was odd, no greens, popcorn sprinkled on top, flavor was just ok. The specialty biscuits were hard, over cooked, and more like a ciabatta roll in texture. The prime rib was nothing special taste-wise. My husband got the smallest rack of lamb entree and left hungry. The desserts left something to be desired. I was very disappointed, given my high expectations from the good reviews. We will not be going back.
Great place to spend Christmas Eve :)
Xmas eve Brunch was great as always this time brought the teens out to enjoy and they loved it.
Trace is a great restaurant to visit before going to ACL Live. The food was good and the appetizer small plates are generous portions. While I enjoyed all our food, the shrimp and grits were my least favorite. They were still good, but not as good as everything else we ordered. The restaurant also has a great win selection by either the bottle or glass and the waiters are very knowledgeable about the wine and food parings.
Food was delicious, service was fantastic, atmosphere was fun without being too noisy. Hip place with grown-up food. A little pricey, but we left feeling very satisfied. Great proximity to Moody Gardens Theatre - perfect place for a meal before a concert.
I had the fish tacos which were excellent. I preferred them on corn rather than flour tortillas and they readily accommodated me. Excellent service.
Best staff in Austin
Given a generous expense account, Trace would impress an important client. However, Austin offers several much less expensive alternatives that deliver impeccably prepared and presented dishes in elegant settings served by graciously attentive and knowledgeable wait staff. Great place for wanna-be 'one percenters'.
Thanksgiving day finding parking near the hotel/restaurant was a nightmare. Lots of people were walking everywhere for the Turkey Trot.
We brought cash for the valet but, roads around entrance were blocked. Parked at a public garage a few blocks away. $13 for one hour.
I would like to have been emailed directions on how to reach the entrance around the blockades.
Food was a bit over salty.
Cocktail: Burning Bush was delicious!! Nice atmosphere for a date or to enjoy a signature cocktail.
They were so kind and accommodating for my grandson and our group and wonderful dinner service after. Could not ask for better experience!!!
Sit outside, inside lighting is “DINER BRIGHT”
