Great place for dinner. Menu is not very large but food is outstanding. Ambiance is also great. Highly recommended. Parking conveniently available in garage just across the street.

Server seemed busy and very inattentive... we waited too long between courses, for drinks, for dessert, to ask for check, etc... Restaurant wasn’t full so couldn’t understand why we felt neglected at times.

We had a phenomenal brunch at Trace. Incredible service, lively fun vibe and absolutely amazing food. My boyfriend and I thought every ingredient was thoughtful and every bite was delicious. We shared the quail and grits, crab avocado toast and duck huevos rancheros. We are both foodies and thought this was some of the best food we've had in Austin. Highly recommended.

We enjoyed ourselves and they certainly treat the person having the Birthday very well. That being said though, the menu has changed, and while the quality and grits was still awesome, we weren’t as into the rest of the meal. Definitely sad to see the Duck Chilaquiles were no longer on the menu, and the Duck Confit Huevos rancheros just aren’t the same. Not a huge fan of the presentation of the lox sandwich. We were expecting actual pieces of lox and not the sort of “spread” that it actually was.

Went to meet someone for a late brunch. I felt a bit rushed by the server who kept stopping by to see if we were ready to order. The person who dropped off our food failed to bring me the condiments I had asked for...That said, the food was very good and somewhat reasonably priced considering it’s at the W and downtown.

Went for Mothers Day lunch and was presented with the menu. The kids menu was very expensive @ $25 for bowl of lettuce, 2 pancakes and slice of chocolate cake.
Food was good and the service was ok. Needed to ask for silverwhere.
Overall good but a little expensive for what was received.

Service was friendly but slow. Food was lacking. My poached egg came out as hard boiled. Seems like they forgot to salt and pepper my steak. Really sad because I wanted to like this place. Great atmosphere and location, but the food didn’t hit the mark.

Great place for breakfast or brunch. There are a lot of unique menu items, and the brisket infused items (hash or omelette) are fantastic. Eggs Benedict are also delicious.

None of us enjoyed our food. We ordered beef short ribs, beef filet, salmon, several different appetizers and the only thing everyone agreed on was the salad. Everything else was a disappointment. Every one of us said we wouldn't come back for food but we would for drinks. Open, beautiful atmosphere with great drinks but food is a pass.

Server had incorrect info on the day's sangria, then a second cocktail was selected and the restaurant was missing an ingredient so a third choice had to be made. Entrees were mediocre. Fish was in a very spicy sauce and lacked any sides. Steak was sitting in a pool of a citrus oil, which was not a good flavor combination and made the entire platter unappealing. Mushrooms on steak were rubbery. Convenient location but would not return.

Our waiter was outstanding, but the 3-course meal option for a brunch was too heavy. We needed a fish and chicken option, so the brunch was a bit disappointing.

We looked forward to Easter Brunch being amazing and Trace delivered! We had a wonderful meal and experience at the W Trace. The food was phenomenal, the ambiance was amazing, and the service was impeccable.

Our waitress was Ruby and she was on top of it. She was attentive, made sure we were happy every second of our meal, and went over and beyond for us. We also met Daniel who came by the table to check on us and ask if he could make our experience even better. Just great service overall.

The live music that day was an acoustic guitar player who really made the afternoon great. Finally the dessert came around and we scarfed it down. We just can’t say enough about how Trace goes beyond great service and stellar food. Thanks again y’all. We’ll be back!

We had a reservation for 11:45 AM. Unfortunately when we arrived promptly at 11:45 AM the restaurant told us that they did not have a table us and that we would have to wait. The restaurant was not able to seat us until almost 12:30 PM for an event that the restaurant was hosting that had started at noon.

Once they tried to finally seat us, they tried splitting our reservation of 8 people into two tables of four after we had called and confirmed three times that one table for 8 people was doable for the event. After awkwardly sitting at two tables for 15 minutes without being served water or being asked if we wanted anything to drink, they were finally able to get us one table together. It was another another 10-15 for drinks to be ordered or to get any attention at all - in fact, the waitress came by and took our coffee cups without even asking if we wanted any. After we were presented with the menu, we quickly noticed that they had increased the prices of their cocktails for the event as opposed to the pricing that the cocktails had been before at previous events.

After not so good food, we were presentable with the bill. The waitress then informed us that they could only take four credit cards per table while there were 8 of us present. This was never relayed to us at any time: when the reservation was made, before being seated, or during the brunch. To say our brunch was a cluster f*** is an understatement. We had intended the brunch to be an opportunity to introduce new friends to the city, but instead were left too stressed and angry to enjoy any of it.

We were told several times that the problems were caused due to the fact that they were "slammed", but if the restaurant was hosting an event one would think that they would know they would be "slammed" ahead of time and to prepare for it. Especially if Trace has hosted the same event twice before. EXTREMELY disappointed in the restaurant, the quality of service, and overall experience.

we ordered an appetizer and it came with a side sauce. It was brought to our table and didn't have the sauce. When we asked about it and for it, our waiter was a complete jerk. He was not our primary waiter and that is unfortunate because primary waiter was great. This guy was not. If you advertise something on your menu (fried olives with a remoulade sauce), please make sure you serve that dish. Make sure your wait staff knows the menu and then they shouldn't act like jerks when it is incorrect - not the customer's fault.

We made reservations for my daughter’s 26th birthday and were unbelievably disappointed in our experience. When we arrived we waited 5 minutes for someone to greet us at the hostess stand. Several people walked by but did not acknowledge us. Finally we are taken to our table, where the hostess realized the table wasnt ready. She had us stop in the middle of the restaurant where she grabbed forks, knives, napkins, etc and set the table up while we stood there. Not once did she offer an apology, simply “Your server will be right with you.” Finally our server comes to take our drink order. She doesnt welcome us, ask why we are in Austin, nothing. We order 4 total drinks but only 3 were registered so we had to wait another 5 minutes for the next drink. We then order brunch. Brunch came and it was sub par to say the least. My daughter’s breakfast sandwich was cold. Never did the waitress ask how our food was or if there was anything else we needed. Finally, we had to ask for the check and it took about 15 minutes to get it. Bottom line, it was some of the worst service and food we have ever had. To make matters worse we ate there to celebrate a birthday.
