Trabuco Oaks Steakhouse
Trabuco Oaks Steak House is the perfect place to grab a bite to eat after a long day in the canyon or if you just want to get away from the hustle of the city crowds. The rustic BBQ restaurant gently reminds everyone as they walk in that casual is the norm here by displaying cut ties from the ceiling. Enjoy a steak like the top sirloin, New York strip or porterhouse cooked to perfection. Trabuco Oaks understands that not everyone wants steak, so it offers entrŽes like the mesquite grilled chicken, Italian spaghetti or an order of fish and fries.
Finish off the meal at Trabuco Oaks with a delicious dessert such as a hot fudge sundae or the famous hot cherry Gizmo, which is a cherry filling wrapped in a flour tortilla that has been deep fried and topped with ice cream, hot cherry sauce and whipped cream.
We love Trabuco Oaks! This night, not as impressed.
My steak was way undercooked. I asked for medium to medium rare and got seared. They took it back and cooked it more- not a problem. The other thing was- we were a group of 6 - and were sat right beside the other large group. The dining was pretty open, no reason for that close. We couldn’t hear our own conversation. They just seemed to be having an off night. (I hope).
i have been coming here for over 40 years great place for a great steak, don't tell anyone!
Enjoyed the evening, , unique spot, good service and not expensive. However our steaks seemed very dry as if they sat under the warmer. We ordered 3 filet’s and a New York. The steaks were cooked correctly, just very dry. Again the Prices are very reasonable.
My Son and I had a great time and I believe our servers name was Cherie and she was FABULOUS!!! I brought my daughter back on Sunday for an early dinner and everything was great but just waaaay to warm in that back room. We could feel a huge difference when we walked out in the cool front. We had a great time at both meals and such a little gem.
Very rustic with charm. Steak was out of this world!
The steaks just aren’t as good as they used to be. I don’t know if it’s the seasoning or the vendor. The baked potatoes are always undercooked.
I always enjoy the salad, but they need to serve better bread. It’s basically cheap white bread toasted and barely buttered.
Sat at a table that was crooked. Food had no flavoring for price
Delicious. Never disappointing when I eat there. Great food, great service, great surroundings.
Very nice restaurant in the trabuco canyon. Highly recommended
Great steakhouse for the whole family. The cowboy is a fantastic meal for two, with leftovers.
Great ambience in the canyon. Remodeled entry and added bar since my last visit. Back room the same. Very quaint and a fun dining experience.
Patty Melt is the best around with the string fries
Onion Rings as an appetizer
We enjoyed the entire experience. The service was great and the food was delicious. Will definitely come back!
It was the perfect evening out. Both my wife and I enjoyed every minute.
We wanted to try this place since we’ve heard great things about it and it was not up to the hype. It was very dirty, as in dirt and dust and dead flies on the tables and chairs, cob webs everywhere with dead flies in them...quality of food didn’t seem bad but with the restaurant dirty like that I’m worried about the kitchen so I didn’t eat more than a few bites, seems very unacceptable to begin with but especially considering the price of the food. Our server was good but we don’t ever want to go back.
My son and his girlfriend weren't too impressed with the hugeness of the buns on their sandwiches. Additionally, my son said the hamburger meat wasn't good. I found the filet and mashed potatoes really good. The skillet mushrooms were good as well! The beans we not tasty and the starter bread was only ok. The ambiance was excellent and the service was the best!
It was a great night with fantastic food, ambiance, and people. Love getting my tie cut!
As usual seated in time. Everything was wonderful. Food cooked perfectly. Server smart friendly and kept up with our beeds
It's ok, good steak priced high, long drive, wait times even with a reservation, great valet. Don't expect to see your server often. Maybe every 10_15 minutes
Very unique experience, not what I expected. We enjoyed it and the food was excellent.
Out of town guest
One of my friends was celebrating his birthday!
Thank you We will come back we love restaurants like this one stand up for our country The Patriots
I was looking for a steak place on the whim because I was staying at a hotel in Lake Forest and is new to the area!
Well, first to all the ride here is quite interesting. You are going to go through a 2 lane road with twisty and sharp turns, however, the view is gorgeous and I loved every bit of it. I made a mistake and thought it was a formal place so I wore a dress and was so out of place, this place is really casual/ business casual. Casual is the best way to put it. Also, don't be off-putting about the valet because it's free. The reason they probably do it is to keep every car in order since it is a small place. Also, no need to have a fancy car, there were
Pick up trucks filled in the parking lot!!
I went around 8 PM and the service was amazing!
The food was amazing. I got the New York strip and my boyfriend got the rib eye. The salad was yummy so was the toast and the mud pie dessert!!
We loved it!!
Its an exspierence and very nostalgic for me,went there as a kid and thought it was cool then. Great food and choices, too much food but good leftovers too!
A fun steakhouse to go to where it has the ambiance not to take oneself too seriously. If you enter with a tie on, you won’t be leaving with it intact, it will be hanging on the ceiling or the walls.
All steaks and ribs are phenomenal and worth the price! Bbq sauce is amazing on the ribs but no sauce needed for the steaks. Just had the onion ring and shrimp appetizer for the first time and amazing crust on both. So good and will be ordering again. The meals come with bread, salads, and a side of western beans and a choice of options. We all ordered the baked potato, such a good decision.
Oh and in addition, the waitress was friendly, checked in on and filled refills in a timely manner AND saw my special note in the reservation about the birthday we were celebrating and brought out a treat (even without me having to mention anything in person) That was spectacular service. W
It is my favorite steakhouse in Orange County and continues to be. Great job and love this place!
Love this place!
We took friends there a while back not knowing it had new owners. The food was not good; steaks were tough & tasteless. Really missed that mesquite-grilled flavor. The service was terrible & the prices had gone up a tad. We wouldn't have minded if the food was good. Hated the parking situation. This time we had a much better experience. The food was very good. I still missed that real mesquite-grilled flavor that we use to get in the steaks there, but it was tasty. However, the prices are ridiculously high now. We will definitely not be able to enjoy a monthly trip as we use to before the new owners. This has become more of a special occasion place for us due to the prices. Still hate the parking situation. Please stay consistent so we can bring friends.
Always consistent service with a smile and wonderful food. The beef ribs are out of this world. I highly recommend this restaurant for the friendly vibe and cozy atmosphere.
A bit too loud the night we were there with large groups
The steak is more like choice and not prime or “grass-feed”. Flavorful but you will have to chew.
So the house salad dressing is Italian and very good but I asked for a bowl to drain the some it was swimming.
Need more foam on the seats. Next time I will bring my “A’s” seat pad.
Excellent Danish Service
We went for the first time for my husband's Father's Day dinner, it was kinda rustic inside, but well lit. The servers were very friendly & apologized for having to wait a bit before she came to our table, we understood since it was a holiday. The food was very good, I had the 8 oz filet mignon cooked medium rare, it cut easily & melted in my mouth. My husband & daughter ordered the port ribs, they were very tender & had a nice smoked flavor. To end the meal we shared a mud pie, it was delicious!
Nice and casual steak restaurant hidden in the canyon. Server was friendly and attentive. My steak was cooked the way I like it. It was delicious and tender. Look forward to going back.
We had a great meal.
Upon arriving at the restaurant, the parking lot was completely full. There was no off street parking. The only available way to park was either wait for another diner to leave and miss our reservation or pay the Country Store owner, who was standing outside taking money, $20.00 to park down the road. Total joke.
Not worth the price. Since the name says it’s a steak house I expected a good steak. Steak had a lot of gristle and lacked flavor. Service was mediocre at best!
This is not our first trip to Trabuco Oaks. As usual the food is excellent. We had the Sirloin this time and it was perfectly cooked with grill marks on the outside and medium rare on the inside. The house wine is not particularly good but passable. The table was jammed in the corner very close to two other tables but there was very little noise due the the sound absorption of the ties on the walls and ceiling.
Trabuco Oaks is one of our favorite restaurants when we want steak.
We celebrating my son‘s 25th birthday!
Have visited this quaint, out of the way Steakhouse for several years now. Have NEVER been disappointed with anything! The service is awesome, the food extraordinary and the ambiance is fun. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
