A Trabocco is a unique fishing pier found along the Adriatic coast of Abruzzo. The passion of the boss and chef are certainly noticeable in their food. I highly recommended. It's a regular restaurant to visiting.

We initially sat in the main dining room, but because of a loud conversation at the table next to us, asked to move to the kitchen-side bar. The staff accommodated us with a smile, and we had a great date night! The food and service were, as always, excellent.

Trabocco never lets me down. The food is great. The service is great. Giuseppe the owner is so friendly. He checks at tables to see how his guests are doing. He greets people with a big smile. Trabocco is one of my favorite restaurants.

From the online pictures I just had a very different picture of the restaurant in my head. But we are trying new things and getting to know the area so let’s try Trabocco.

Service seemed slow. We waited at least 10 mins for a waiter to come to our table.

We started off with ordering two slightly dirty vodka martinis. If you have cocktail in the name of your restaurant one would assume that this type of traditional drink would be very good. I’ve never had citrus flavors in my dirty martini and for the record it didn’t work. The martinis also arrived after our appetizer which is a pet peeve of mine.

For an appetizer we split the fried calamari. It was fine, nothing out of this world. We each had a pasta dish and again it was fine. The dishes were a bit oily and heavy. Now that we have gone to Trabocco we can cross it off our list and move on to finding other restaurants in the area.

I love Trabocco. Whenever I visit the Bay area, I dine here. The food is absolutely fresh and delicious, the service is wonderful, and the chef owner who greets you is so gracious.

Service at every point was welcoming and on-point. We came here for lunch, and the portions are huge! Flavorful. The salmon sandwich was my favorite.

The chef and owner came out to sing happy birthday and delivered the cake on a beautiful plater with happy birthday spelled in chocolate. It was a special surprise!

The food was excellent. Sat at the bar prior to dinner and the bartender was great. Drinks top notch. It was a bit noisy and the seating was kind of close - you have to be comfortable with sharing your conversation with the people next to you ! - but a nice find in the middle of a shopping mall.

Always the best at Trabocco. The chef/owner greets each person -sometimes when you walk in, sometimes when you leave smiling “ Ciao!!” ( he’s italian)
Everything is delicious but we always include the Branzino dish- it really IS like Italy here!!

I was in town meeting up with my friends and band mates. I’m a musician and actor. The decor of the restaurant is beautiful and every single person on the staff is superb. They were professional yet relaxed. I would eat here everyday if I could. The food is excellent. The thoughtful care that the chef puts into the menu and the daily specials really show in the deliciousness of food.

Took friend for a birthday celebration. They brought out this beautiful plate with the words "Happy Birthday" written on it in chocolate and a piece of Tiramisu. Very nice touch--and the tiramisu was complimentary! Women will love it!! And by the way, the food was absolutely delicious.

It's quite a trek to drive over to Alameda from San Francisco but two days ago I needed to visit a good friend for lunch. Trabocco will get me out to Alameda much more often. That pizza "Carolina" with proscciutto, arugula and truffle oil sent me to heaven and back, and I'm still savoring it.

While the restaurant was very crowded and the tables were very close together, we had a great time. The food was really good, and our server was very pleasant and efficient. We were so close to the tables on either side of us that we got to know our fellow diners - thank goodness they were nice. The salad and mains we had were delicious. The dessert was kind of ordinary (up to that point we felt like we were revisiting Italy but the gelato didn’t stand up).

I just love this place. I was saying to my husband as we were finishing our dinner, "Trabocco is just such a fun time out." Everyone who works here is friendly but professional and really efficient, and the chef/owner cruises through the dining room frequently to check on his guests. On Saturday nights, reservations are a must. I had a very rich lasagna and my husband had the whole branzino; I'd say that fish, pizza and anything out of the wood oven & rostisserie are especially good. They have interesting cocktails and wines by the glass that make the dining experience even more fun. It's a little bit noisy. Come here for a special occasion and you'll feel very well taken care of.

Great food and wonderful service!

Three people each had a different entree and all three were very pleased with the meal they were served. Server overheard we were celebrating a birthday and surprised the celebrant with a desert topped with a candle.

Will definitely return!

Very pleasantly surprised.. Staying at the Oakland airport one of the challenges is finding a great place to eat.. Went to Open Table and this restaurant popped up and glad I took the recommendation.. From the moment you walk in with great reception from the hostess to the incredible service we received from our waitress. The Chef/owner came out and delivered a desert to the table next to us and sang Happy Birthday. Worked the room and asked about our meal etc.. Something you don't see these days.. Great food and overall experience..

We love Trabocco and are delighted that they located in our home town of Alameda. We’re greeted like old friends and we never fail to enjoy our food and the friendly efficient service. We celebrated a birthday at Trabocco recently. When we were seated we were asked if we were celebrating anything that evening. Then they surprised us with a happy birthday dessert personally delivered by the owner and chef Giuseppe. Thanks Trabocco!!

Sits kind of in the middle of an outdoor mall, will need to walk from parking lot into the actual mall area, GPS will get you only close, look for smallish sign on sidewalk pole. Once in though, very nice architectural e backdesign for both dining and kitchen area, tables leave plenty of room for servers and patrons to get around, plus an outdoor tented area with heaters. Greta was our server and nothing was lacking in her game, took excellent care of us from start to finish, house made pastas and pizza were outrageous and desserts were heavenly. A true treasure in Alameda and will be back to do it again.

We had a great time at Trabocco. The only annoyance was that when we got there, the hostess forgot to ask us if we'd made a reservation in advance (and I forgot to tell her), and then later the restaurant told OpenTable that we'd failed to show up for our reservation, causing OpenTable to send us a nasty-gram.

But as for the restaurant itself, the food is wonderful and we had a great time.

Simply the best! High end Italian cuisine served in the most stylish spot in Alameda.
Giuseppe and Christine take pride in everything they do. It shows. This restaurant is "their baby".
First off: the chairs. They're actually comfortable - and match the high end decor. You may never want to leave once you settle in.
So many must-have dishes: The octopus appetizer OMG. Pasta done to perfection: get whatever Giuseppe recommends. I had porchetta which was done to crackling perfection - and one of the largest portions I've ever had. (I took half home.)
Finally, the service: Professional from start to finish - beyond professionalism was hospitality. Our group was a mix of Italian and Hawaiian - the bond between these two cultures is the importance of a welcoming, generous hosting experience. You get all this and more at Trabocco

This was our first visit to Trabocco. Trabocco offers some of the most authentic and scrupulously prepared regional Italian dishes we've found anywhere. The uncompromisingly authentic and truly rustic food is unique among Italian restaurants in the Bay Area. The bacala appetizer was a standout because few restaurants offer salt cod-based dishes. The raviolo (or "raviolone" because it was large) with the oxtail ragu was a hit, as was the porchetta, the evening's special item from the rotisserie. Our server was charming, friendly, and professional, and the restaurant's team approach ensured timely and agreeable service. Finally, it was a pleasure to meet Giuseppe, "il proprietorio stesso," and to thank him for everything that Trabocco offers. Torniamo presto!

Real italian food (I'm italian). The food is NOT soaked in garlic, like the vast majority of italian places around. The owner/chef is from Abruzzo, and is very friendly and not too intrusive.
Definitely recommended for the fish. I went there a few times. The fish soup is awesome. Also the fried calamari.
This time I had pasta del Trabocco, which is pasta with tomatoes and different types of seafood. Super good. Also had a glass of wine and a dessert. My wife took pretty much the same. Total bill was reasonably around 70$.
I'll definitely come back.
