A Trabocco is a unique fishing pier found along the Adriatic coast of Abruzzo. Architect and Designer Lev Weisbach of Weisbach Architecture|Design was inspired by the beautiful Trabocchi of Abruzzo when he created his spectacular design. With its reclaimed wood ceilings, dramatic copper encased fireplace, and modern bar Trabocco is warm and welcoming yet strikingly dramatic and modern.

Troboco is always great. If you’re not happy with any part of your meal, tell the chef. He always personally visits every table to make sure you’re happy. My only problem with Troboco is that I put a lot of effort in trying to narrow down the choices on the menu. When I finally make up my mind, the waiter comes by and announces the specials for the day which often negates my previous hard work. You’d think I’d learn.
Wife has yearly conference in Oakland & we come here every year for the last 7 years or so.
This is a place you should try to get to. The food is not to be missed.
Prime rib was amazing
We saw Trabocco featured on “Check Please, Bay Area” and have been wanting to eat here. We were not disappointed. The waitstaff was impressive, from being able to rattle off all of the specials, to recommending a wine pairing with my meal. The food was delicious and there was a wide variety to please everyone. We also ordered two appetizers and a pizza to share. The portions were generous and we had leftovers to take home. We will definitely be back to try more items from the menu! We highly recommend Trabocco!
This place is near perfection. They just need to up their bread game. If you’re giving us bread with olive oil and balsamic, give us some high quality and fresh bread please!
I would not recommend this restaurant to a friend, nor do I plan on visiting the restaurant again. Although I appreciate an attentive staff, being overly attentive is very annoying. They barely gave us time to look at the menu before they were asking if we were ready to order. I had to ask for silverware twice, and our appetizer arrived and I still did not have silverware. No sooner that I received my silverware and attempted to enjoy the appetizer, the representative was there again asking if we were ready to order. It was very frustrating. We found ourselves rushed the entire time. We had the octopus, for the appetizer, that was quite delicious, however, the entre was awful. We both had the lasagna. The meat was very dry and the lasagna was very mushy. Considering it was one of the specials, I expected it to be a lot better.
Ravioli con Coda are excellent, Piatto Trabocco presentation and taste great, very good risotto, humongous sandwiches for lunch.
Of our three lunchtime visits, this was the least impressive. The carpaccio antipasto was particularly disappointing: not sheets of thinly sliced beef, but circles of what looked like tiny mortadella slices arranged in a larger circle, with some dressed lettuce and a sprinkle of parmesan. Fodder, not food. The stuffed pasta al coda was, as the foodies say, toothsome, but the stuffing was bland cooked veal with no sauce or braising liquid I could detect ... and since there was only a jus to moisten the plate, it got old fairly quickly. As I say, on previous visits we've done better.
Our service this time was amusing and efficient -- one seen-it-all Italian waiter assigned to the outdoor pavilion, with only us to serve for awhile.
I'll still go there when a fun lunch is called or, but I'd like to see a return to form in the daytime kitchen. I've not gone for dinner, so dunno if there's a marked difference.
Food service and drinks were all excellent. Price was a little high, but overall cant complain. It was a lovely special dinner date for my husband and I.
Always delicious, Trabocco is a wonderful place. Tonight the owner/chef served us our appetizer, he is always welcoming diners to his restaurant and sings Happy Birthday with his lovely singing voice! It is a pleasant and cozy environment. Our waiter was clearly from Italy, so cool. The entire waitstaff was attentive and always available. What's so amazing about this classy place is that it is in the middle of our local outdoor shopping mall! Therefore, parking is great! We take our friends here and recommend it highly to anyone who's considering it for lunch or dinner. We love going to Trabocco!
Cocktails and Caprese salad were good. Some entrees lack flavor, e.g. the seafood grill was bland. Wine was delicious It was a birthday and the staff and chef made it a wonderful celebration!
We have gone multiple times for birthday celebrations and had the free dessert to celebrate.
We had passed on dessert, but the waiter kept insisting we should get some.
We assumed incorrectly that it was the free tiramisu that you get for your celebrations, so it was quiet a surprise when the bill came and we were charged $8 for it, even thou we said ok we would have the crème brulee. A little disappointing on that. But food is always good and we will continue to go back.
This was the third Friday in a row for us and brought family this time. Had Randall last week and Camilo this week as servers and both were fantastic. My advice is to be open to trying something different and enjoy the ride.
I don’t have a complaint but would love to see some different desert options.
I went for lunch with some girlfriends I hadn’t seen for awhile. We talked and talked as we ate our way through several delicious courses. We never felt rushed or hurried or ignored. We spent three hours there and had a wonderful time.

If you need a vegetarian meal, be sure to tell the server and ask what they can do for you. Most entrees had meat on the day we had lunch.

Being a Monday night, I figured it wouldn't be busy but we made a reservation on Open Table and hopped in the car. As other reviews state, it's in a shopping center and was a little bit of a walk from the parking area. Once inside, we loved the immediate warmth and friendliness. The chef/owner was behind the host stand and was smiling and friendly as he found the reservation I'd just made 15 minutes earlier. Kind of glad I did as even on a Monday night, it was fairly busy. Nice menu and good moderately priced wine list. We started with an order of calamari and some soup and then straight to pasta. Everything was amazing. The calamari was light and the dipping sauce was an unexpected treat. The food was absolutely on point and we loved every bite. We also had some spumoni and tiramisu for dessert that was a great way to end the meal. Our server, Barry, was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and wine and made us feel like regulars even though we'd never been in the place before. All in all, a spectacular night. It made Monday night feel special. We will absolutely be back. This place was a real find.
I ❤️this place. So very good every-time we go there. I really like the pizza and the pasta. And a lovely Italian wine selection. I bring out of town guest here regularly. Can’t wait till I can go again.

Brought my parents as I know they like Italian and this is one of the nicer Alameda restaurants open for lunch on Sunday. Food and service was outstanding. Grilled seafood was moist and flavorful. Will definitely be coming back!
Not sure what they could do to make the experience better. Marshall was attentive but not overly so. My only complaint is that I don’t live closer. Will be back soon.
I've dined her a few times before and the quality of food and service has remained at the same high level as on previous visits. My salmon lunch entree was perfectly prepared, nicely presented and the server was knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient. My dining companion was equally impressed. I'll definitely return.
Wonderful food service
One of the two best Italian restaurants in the Greater EBay. Suitable for romantic 'a deux' or a group. Burrata is a terrific starter-simple but perfect. Baccala lovers, don't miss the Baccala e Peperoni, unique to Trabocco. Chef Nacarelli's risotto is always amazing. Gnocchi or seafood pasta is also top-notch and consistent. Best dessert is the zabaglione, a Marsala soft custard with sweet ripe berries. Unlike many over-hyped new restaurants, service here is first-class, well trained and properly supervised. Trabocco has been one of our favs ever since opening in 2013!
Tremendous food and service as usual. The chef came out to say hello. Always smiling and gracious. The calamari was to die for so was the prime rib. As it was a birthday dinner the chef brought out a complementary tiramisu. We’ll be back.
We have been to Trebacco a few times. We were close by with some friends who had never been but wanted to so we booked it via Open Table. Upon arrival, the man at the front desk said he would seat us on the patio which was completely empty. The main restaurant was not full at all - lots of open tables - but he hesitated and told us that because we reserved via open table that was all he could offer us. He said we should have called instead. I asked him why we were being penalized for using Open Table. He then reluctantly took us to a table in the main dining area. Very disappointing and disrespectful service from him. Everything else was good - the food, our waiter.
