A Trabocco is a unique fishing pier found along the Adriatic coast of Abruzzo. Architect and Designer Lev Weisbach of Weisbach Architecture|Design was inspired by the beautiful Trabocchi of Abruzzo when he created his spectacular design. With its reclaimed wood ceilings, dramatic copper encased fireplace, and modern bar Trabocco is warm and welcoming yet strikingly dramatic and modern.
Went for lunch and both entrees were great !! Ordered grilled chicken sandwich and grilled salmon sandwich they were so good we each could only eat half so finished for dinner! 😊 I allready know what I’m going to order next time ! On Saturday ‘s they have lasagna on the menu it is the best !!!
Trabocco has been one of our most favorite Bay Area restaurants since we first tried it out a few weeks after its Fall 2013 opening. Great food; happy, high-energy atmosphere; fantastic service; family-friendly but also perfect for couples or business. Trabocco is located in Alameda's South Shore Center, a pleasant outdoor shopping center & that means easy parking...plus the option to stroll along the lovely Alameda shoreline before or after your meal. Highly recommend!!
Fantastic food; welcoming atmosphere -- hits that sweet spot of being both sophisticated and warm.
Everything was great except it was warm in the dining room.
Excellent service, great food and cocktails. I always enjoy my meals when I dine here.
Every time we dine here it’s a wonderful experience. Food is fresh (think farm to table) and drinks are good. Friendly neighborhood pseudo upscale restaurant near home. Always a treat! And the chef is engaging and very friendly :)
Great for everything!
This is my fourth time at Trabocco. This time we enjoyed the meal served on the patio, the service was excellent and perfectly paced. Everything we ordered was perfectly done. My companion was celebrating a birthday and they served her a beautiful tiramisu on a happy birthday plate. I will go back to this restaurant several times over the next year.
As always, EXCELLENT!
Very high reco! Great service, and wonderful food!
With the many fine restaurants in the Bay Area from which to choose, it’s not every day one comes across a dining experience that REALLY stands out; but Trabocco is truly an OUTSTANDing restaurant experience. From the warm hospitality, to the lovely ambience, the excellent food, and top notch service, this place shines. And did I mention the ample and easy parking? Hooeeeeee!
Hands down our favorite restaurant in Alameda. It never disappoints! We love the seafood stew, the Branzino fish and the octopus appetizer. But everything we’ve had there is delicious.
This was a wonderful dining experience. The food was delicious, the prices were fair and the service was just excellent and professional. The chef greets everyone as they enter which is a really nice touch. The restaurant itself is beautiful and comfortable. My only complaint is that we should have requested a different table as were in a corner near the emergency exit. The restaurant was full and we didn't want to make a fuss. Otherwise, we thoroughly enjoyed our experience.
Fantastic food. Unusual and delicious. The chef (owner?) was so hospitable. And the waiter was very patient. We talked for hours with no one hurrying us along.
Celebrated my birthday with a good friend. My favorite restaurant. So perfect and makes you feel like family.
Food and service were great. Food came out a tad cool, and I wish there were more vegitarian pasta options.
Fantastic service, attractive space, great food.
The service was amazing and as always the food was some of the best I’ve ever had! Always a warm inviting feeling when we come here
Thanks Marshall for making dinner extra special!
Great place! Had Salmon dinner and a glass of house Cab.
Service was quick.
Server was really friendly.
Little expensive so was a treat.
Food is always very good. Recently though, they are putting more sauce/meet in the dishes vs pasta, which makes the dish too heavy. Service is always good.
excellent food, service & menu options. ambiance is awesome too.
The best Bay Area restaurant for a celiac to feel welcomed and fed a safe, hearty meal. The chef came out very quickly and had such a positive attitude. He also greeted me as we left. The hospitality was superb and unexpected. Thank you!
Trabocco is a favorite spot... great food, good variety of options so everyone can always find something, lovely drinks (the basil martini and margarita are favorites), nice wine list, and the service is perfect. Walking in the door is like walking in to join extended family. Thank you once again!
I highly recommend Trabocco! The food is amazing, the service is great, and it’s not overly expensive.
This was my first time coming to the restaurant and it won't be my last. Authentic Italian cusine full of rich flavors.
For a restaurant in a shopping mall in the suburbs of the East Bay, I expected a better value. The food was mediocre at best. The pork chop was under salted and over cooked, the worst tragedy for meat. It was loud in there. The only redemption was the perfectly cooked scallop in the seafood stew. Wouldn't go here again.
What a surprise! Super food, super service. Reasonable prices. Only things not super were the proximity of tables to each other and very high noise level. Luckily we did a lot of eating and not much talking.
Went for my birthday and had a blast! They ran out of the pasta special (lobster ravioli), but the waiter "found" a plate for me! Delicious. The lobster flavor was prominent and bolstered with the little shrimps in the wonderful creamy tomato sauce. Others had a very well balance butternut squash annonetti (sp?). St. George vodka cocktails were amazing. Definitely will go back.
Our waiter was pompous and annoying. Some may find him endearing, I think not. When I commented that my sandwich would feed me for dinner too (it did and it was delicious); he said, then go to French restuarant and pay twice as much for half that. His snarky attitude was not amusing . He also said said "grandma" remark that I ignored. I'm sure someone him, I did not!
It’s always great going in there you feel so welcome and everyone says hi to you. This last time I went in my salmon was a bit chard and burnt on the end. The rest of the meal was great and I will probably go back. If I said something I have no doubt they would have fixed it but I was in a rush.
Once again..... a wonderful experience. The owner is always there to greet you at the door and the wait staff is amazing.
Edward provided great service, and the food (as always) was excellent.
Food is good. The staff treats you well for any type of celebration.
The food is delicioso!! Our service was impeccable. My favorite cocktail is their Basil martini. Oxtail raviolis are wonderful. Really appreciate the hands on approach of the chef/owner. Always a great experience at Trabocco.
I love this restaurant. We have dinner here whenever we come to visit my son and grandson in Alameda. The restaurant is super clean. The food is high quality and the owner seems to take great pride in his establishment.
The restaurant, tucked away in a shopping center. is the perfect combo of an interesting menu, great service and well prepared food! A gem!
Great service and delicious food. Although our waitress could’ve check in a bit more. Our water jug remained empty for a while and I had to request for more water. That’s just something minor that I felt I should mention. We were pleasantly surprised when we were presented a Birthday Slice of cake on platter! It was great!
From the ownership to the food preparation and wait staff to the folks in the bar to the folks behind the scenes, this is a Total Class Operation! Every menu item is well-conceived, well-prepared, and served with a smile. Oh, and, BTW -- this is the best Italian food I have had since last I visited Tuscany. Do yourself a favor and get to Trabocco !!
I am a little biased, living just one block away, but I prefer coming here even with all of the wonderful choices in the bay area. Giussepe, Christine and staff make everyone feel like family with a menu of great cocktails and fresh cuisine. There were 3 of us on this visit (one was a "newbie"). We ordered 3 pastas so that he could try bites from each plate. Lo and behold, the food came on long platters with individual portions of 3 pastas on each plate (just beautiful). It is thoughtful touches like this that make each experience memorable. I always look forward to the next visit and highly recommend this special place to anybody looking for a unique and fun dining experience !!
