TR Fire Grill - Waikiki Ratings and Reviews
If I️ could give this restaurant 0 stars... I️ would. We arrived at 645 and happy hour ran until 7. When we ordered beer from the happy hour menu, the waiter left and came back a half hour later and told us they were out of the beer we ordered and happy hour was over. He proceeded to not acknowledge us or let us order for another 15-20 minutes. Right as we were about to get up and leave he finally took our order. The service was horrendous at best. If you want to have a horrible and expensive experience this place is for you. I️ will never go back.
We booked this restaurant and the food was AMAZING!!! The Mac & Cheese is a must, absolutely the nicest I’ve ever had dining out! Flat breads were delicious also. Service was a little slow. When we arrived with our party of 8 we were seated next to the kitchen which was too hot, we asked to move as it was cooler throughout the rest of the restaurant and we were moved on high top bench seats near the front of the restaurant. Not a great seating area for children as my 7 year old Niece fell off her seat and landed on the ground. Our initial server gave us to another server and we waited sometime to order until our new server was deligated to us.
Told them it was our anniversary, and they didn’t acknowledge it at all once we were there. Sat us in a dark secluded corner near an open kitchen with harsh lighting. Messed up a margherita pizza - not sure how that’s even possible? Not good, overpriced and wouldn’t go back.
I didn't know this was a Tony Roma's restaurant, otherwise I might not have chosen to come, but I am glad I did! The food was very good! I had the scallops for my entre and meatballs for a appetizer. Both where delicious. My friends had burgers and fries which they enjoyed! I would go back again sometime.
This is my second visit and I was slightly disappointed, the reason why I came back was because the first time i ate here food was amazing but for the second visit not so good, I ordered the Chicken and Waffles and the fried chicken was overcooked where the crust was black around the edges so it had a burnt flavor to it but my friend had the special which was the Ahi tacos and she said it was delish. We finished off with the Wonuts which tasted like greased soaked bread (totally gross)and we took a few bites and that was the end of our dessert. I have to say that the cocktails were yummy but pretty expensive.
The food was good. The service, not so much. We're not usually ones to complain, but we mentioned to the waiter that our water tasted funny. He just said oh ok and didn't over to get us new water. Then we paid our bill and were shorted change. Bad first time experience.
Planned an early Mother's Day celebration for 12. Arrived early to see the place as we've never been before. The parking is valet only and the staff at the front are very friendly and helpful. If you validate your ticket, parking is $6 for four hours. The concierge escorted us to the restaurant as it could be a bit confusing to find.
The restaurant was renovated and it looked beautiful. I called earlier to find out some information as my mother in law has bad knees so I didn't want her trekking up stairs and what not. The hotel has a wheelchair service and we were able to move her from valet to the restaurant with no trouble. Kudos to the valet and concierge of the Hilton Garden Inn for being so helpful and comforting. As a Kama'aina its great to know that we can get the same quality of service as our visiting tourists do.
Love the open concept and the ease of flow of the restaurant. The kitchen is open and you can actually see the cooks working on the meals and plating it. Whoever designed the restaurant put great thought in planning. The attention to detail is on spot. Very pleased with the way the restaurant turned out. There is great light from the windows which gives a cheerful and bright appearance.
Ordered appetizers to start. We had a mozzarella dipping, pizza fondue with focaccia bread, we had the harvest salad, and an avocado flat bread that was so delicious. The entrees were amazing. Some ordered the salmon, some ordered the chicken and waffles which was amazing. Some also ordered the loco moco and the mac and cheese which I was told was also delicious. They have a wonderful chocolate dessert that can be shared by a large group. We couldn't even finish it. I'd say the pricing for the meals was priced just right. For our party we paid $700+ for our meal which included 3 bottles of champagne as well
Our server Rich was very patient. We were very happy with the area we were seated in. It was private and comfortable. We were able to enjoy one another. thank
Extremely slow service. Our appetizer was nearly finished by the time our drinks arrived at the table, although they were ordered in opposite order. After finishing first drink, not offered a second drink until nearly finished with entire meal, at which time i declined. Empty glass and dishes not prebussed. Food was good, but not worth the painful service experience on a small crowd night.
The food preparation took forever. We told them that we wanted to order a special dessert that is on the menu before we started ordering our dinner. Out regular food took a long time before it was delivered. After one hour and forty-five minutes the dessert was not ready so we ended up taking it home with us. The dinner food was OK when we finally got it.
Had the seared tuna sandwich for lunch which turned out to be 3 1/2 thin slices of tuna. Bread was dry. Overall very bland sandwich even with the tartar and slaw.
My co worker ordered the chicken salad because it had jalapeños listed on the menu. When it arrived it had no jalapeños. So when he inquired with the sever, the server had no idea jalapeños was an ingredient.
Decor was clean, modern and comfortable. Bar looked great. Definitely room for improvement on menu development and service training. Could be a great venue.
The food & service were outstanding! I had lunch with my wife for our last meal in waikiki on our honeymoon before leaving to come back to New York. The food quality was so good! We were very impressed & if we get the opportunity to visit Waikiki again in the future we will definitely be visiting the TR Fire Grill for a meal guaranteed.
The TR Fire Grill had a nice ambiance and it was great for our group dinner. My other friends' dishes were great. I ordered the scallops and it came out after everyone was finished eating (including my friend who ordered the same thing) and my scallops tasted fishy and the texture was chewy so it was the worst dish on the table. My other friend who ordered the scallops said the same thing, but he ate it anyway because he was starving. My friends gave me some of their food (because they felt bad I was the only one not eating) so I got to taste everyone else's dishes and they were much better. When chef came out to deliver my dish, he did apologize, but then I just got the check while I was still eating. I told the waitress that my food was very late and that it was chewy so only then did they take the meal off my bill. It was a crappy experience for me, but I'm glad I made all of my friends' happy by putting this dinner together.
Overall it was a great brunch. We actually started with the Asian Pear Cobbler which was excellent. Really nice, kept the crisp texture and topped with ice cream! It was large enough to share it was our appetizer. Then I had the chicken and waffles to which the chicken breast was so tender and yet very crispy on the outside and wonderfly seasoned. My guests each had Eggs Benedict one southwest and one Florentine. It was equally delicious. Very large portions. And we were very glad we had Shawn (I hope that was his name I am bad at remembering names) anyway, he was very friendly and yet great service!! We are looking forward to going back again for dinner next time! They also have valet parking!!
Good downtown Waikiki location in a renovated Chili,s. Food was reasonably priced but the wine much less so. We wound up just sharing a pizza dip and flatbread "starter" which was lots of food. Our server started the evening by complaining about how tired he was and seemed kind of disinterested the rest of the night.
The restaurant website promoted a special Wednesday 50% off selected wines but I was told this was only available at their Florida location. I wonder if they reverse this lame excuse if you ask the same question in Winter Park FLA?
Was able to get a reservation on New Year's eve when other restaurants in Waikiki were booked. A pleasant discovery , with friendly staff, and food prepared with unique touches that make for comforting dishes . The chicken and waffles definitely stand out, and the wonuts are not to be missed! Will return to eat here when I return to Oahu in a couple of months.
We had a very nice dinner. My partner ordered the flank steak and I had the market salad. Both were very good. The salad is arranged as individual ingredients on the plate. The red onion was pickled, giving it a strong flavor that was a bit much for me given the other ingredients. The service was very attentive and helpful.
I read about this restaurant in the newspaper and at the same time Open Table sent me an email about this new restaurant. My friends and I decided to try it. Not knowing exactly where the restaurant is, is a problem for locals who are not familiar with the one-way streets in Waikiki. We entered Waikiki via Kapahulu Ave., and after spotting the restaurant, had to drive around several blocks because of the one-way streets to get to the hotel parking ($6 valet paid up front, does not include tip). Only a few tables were occupied, so service was extremely attentive. All the wait staff were friendly, most stopped by to ask if we needed anything. We ordered the morning burger, salmon & zoodles, and shrimp & grits. All were delicious - I recommend all three. The restaurant is located in a prime spot on Kuhio with lots of foot traffic, very visible, and when word gets out about this place, I have no doubt it will be a "hot spot".
