Curry is way too heavy for mussels, I don't recommend their current dish. Their wagyu steak also did not seem like wagyu, but maybe my standards are too high.
Room was a bit noisy but could still have a good conversation & food was very good.
Solid business lunch place. Need to work on service, took a long time to be greeted at table.
My go to lunch is a great salad and a great glass of wine. Townhouse has both. Highly recommmend for quick lunch service in a pretty restaurant.
This is clearly a "go to" for lunch downtown! Food and service are top notch.
Was there for a business luncheon. Overall nice, busy place. For the price, the portions might underwhelm (except the salads where the size is proportional to the price tag)
Great for lunch....many tasty choices, nice pace and friendly service.
Convenient location. Food was tasty but the tacos were greasy. Service was very good.
It's been awhile since I've been to Townhouse and it seems as though, unfortunately, it has lost its appeal. I ordered the portabello mushroom sandwich and it there were only a few strips of mushroom on the whole thing. Not what I was expecting for the price point. My colleagues ordered the turkey burger and Greek salad, respectively. Neither were too impressed.
It's too bad because I really used to like this place.
Went to Townhouse for a late business lunch. The waitress was attentive and very friendly while the food was delicious. I highly recommend the Thai Salmon.
Townhouse is a convenient place in the Chicago Loop to have a quick lunch or dinner and/or grab a cocktail. The food is good, but not great, and the beer selection is pretty much the same. You will pay "Chicago" prices for the restaurant.
Wait staff was attentive early on but took a long time to get food and then the check. Ceiling is really high and lots of noise. Food was good but seemed extra salty - might just have been my meal choice - brisket french dip. Must admit I really liked the brisket and the bread on which the sandwich was served.
Fantastic foot and service. Loved everything about the visit and food.
We had a nice Valentines Day dinner and enjoyed the evening. The wait staff was very pleasant.
Large portions, conveniently located, attentive service. Great for a business lunch. Too bad it was so cold, the table in the doorway was quite breezy!
It was absolutely freezing in the restaurant: all three of us wore our coats the entire time and other patrons had theirs on as well. Music was very loud at 2PM. No one checked in on us after we received our food and we had to go find someone to get the check to make it back to work.
That said: food was good, salmon was great, and we were given a cheese and charcuterie tray that someone else had ordered by accident, which was a nice surprise.
One OpenTable tweak: this was supposed to be a 1000 point reservation and it only came up as 100.
The restaurant was very chilly, our hands were cold the entire lunch. We will revisit in the spring or summer.
Restaurant is cold and drafty
Great burger and great service....food arrived quick.
Place was packed. We did get quick service however and our server was on top off things and attentive despite being obviously very busy. Food was great and love the nice big wine glasses.
Adriana was wonderful! Chicken in My Asian salad was very dry. The rest very flavorful. Very attentive service! Very busy so a bit loud. Definitely would come back. Nice menu.
Good business lunch option. Like the menu and great location. Will return!
Had a great time at Townhouse. Def recommend the turkey burger, brisket flatbread and thai salmon. My dining partner and I shared everything including a bottle of wine. We had a Malbec blend-The Owl and the Dust Devil, it was unique and delicious. Not a typical loop / financial district place-more thought has been into their menus than you normally find in this general area. Dining room leans on loud.
Servers seemed a little disorganized but overall it was not a bad experience
Great experience from start to finish. Food was way better than expected. Server was pleasant and knowledgable. Had a drink at the bar after dinner-would return for their Happy Hour specials.
Expected routine happy hour/bar food for a pre-show dinner before the opera, but the meal was superb. They were crazy busy for a Wednesday night, so the service was a little slow, but still attentive. Portions were quite generous and surprisingly flavorful. Highly recommended.
We had come here because of the vegetarian options listed on the website, only to find the restaurant doesn't have them anymore. Server shrugged it off, didn't care.
Then our server forgot to put our order in. We had to ask another server about our food as our server went 45 mins without coming by the table. There was no apology for the mistake. Overall awful experience, will not be bringing colleagues here again!
I've been here twice for lunch and froze both times in different seasons. Open air blowing cold air right on you. Also very, very loud and difficult to have a conversation, even at a 2-top
it was freezing in the restaurant. simply awful. i will never go back.
Food and service were excellent. But it is somewhat pricey. Ambiance is great.
A little too loud for business conversation. Everything else was great
Very busy night because of holiday celebrations- however our service and attendance from our waiter, Anthony was very good & enjoyable.
It took forever for a beverage to be delivered. Food took longer. We missed our train as a result
Great place to have a business meeting over lunch. Not too noisy.
I've been to this restaurant a few times, and the current menu is leaning more toward bar food than loop restaurant. Really really loud around dinner time. Probably good for lunch or partying 20-somethings, but not for a nice dinner before opera!
Overall was good experience. We met some friends who had trains to catch so it served its purpose. Decent wine list that was fairly priced. Appetizers were good...to give it a fair shot we all agreed to have dinner there next time. But certainly worth meeting friends there if time permits before catching a train.
While the food was excellent, the restaurant was so cold, again, that it totally distracts from everything else. My friend and I both wore our winter coats throughout the meal. This is the third time I've been there during the winter months and I won't be back until it's warmer. It's just too uncomfortable.
I booked this restaurant on a holiday trip to Chicago. We enjoyed delicious and stacked burgers and a few drinks as well. It is well located just a short distance from Willis Tower and the atmosphere was reasonably quiet being a Monday evening. I would definitely recommend especially for the burgers.
The food on the online menu looked AWESOME!!! ...which, unfortunately, just means that they have a great photographer.
In reality, the place was too noisy to have a meaningful business conversation, the food was mediocre at best, and the server - although working her tail off - was covering far too many tables to be prompt and attentive.
As to the food... the Jambalaya was watery and insubstantial with very little flavor and seriously over-cooked shrimp. The crab cake sandwich was dry and also lacking in flavor.
Lunch for two certainly did not FEEL like $70 for two... but, with tip (I said she was working hard), it sure was.
Sadly, I would not come back or recommend others to this place. Which is a bummer since I work a block away in the Willis tower and often entertain staff and clients.
Had a wonderful today and all 3 of us enjoyed our meals especially the shrimp tacos and turkey reuben! Will return!
