Incredible food and great location.
Was pretty disappointed by the food, and the service was slow and completely inattentive. We shared the mesclun salad, which was fine and the potatas bravas, which were basically spicy potato skins. They tasted good, but it wasn't really what I was expecting. I felt like I was eating something off the menu from TGI Fridays. That app wouldn't have inspired me to write a negative review... The margerita flatbread, however, was a serious disappointment. I'm not really sure how you mess this up, but they did. The crust was beyond bland. Just tasted like cooked flour. And (perhaps to compensate for the utter lack of bread flavor??), the pizza toppings (cheese and tomato) were so incredibly salty, I was convinced I'd start swelling before I left the restaurant. And it was just too cheesy, like an inch thick of super salty cheese. I won't be coming back here, and with so many great dining options in Boston, I'd choose smething else if I were you.
The food and the service was absolutely amazing. The staff was very friendly and attentive! Can’t wait to go back!
Lobster pop over was ok. Could have been hotter but nice flavor. Same goes for the lobster pizza. Tuna tartar was a little to finely chopped for our taste but again had decent flavor. Beet salad was a complete joke. 4 thin slices of canned beets with a ton of baby arugula, some pumpkin seeds and goat cheese with a blessing of some sort of dressing.
A festive brunch on marathon weekend, featuring a window table, a “prosecco bucket” and a delicious Eggs Benedict. Service and atmosphere was wonderful. A real treat, and the price was very reasonable. Will return soon!
We were here for brunch. Mimosa was great. Potatoes were amazing, as well as hollandaise and the English muffin. However the eggs were severely undercooked. One side of my Benedict just had a raw yolk. No white to be found, and trust me, I looked. I added salmon to it instead of lobster and it ended up being cured, instead of cooked, which I was not a fan of but that was my fault for not asking. Overall everything really was great but next time I will ask for my egg whites not to be runny and I would get a different protein.
Best brunch in Boston! We loved our mimosas and breakfast. Will definitely be back.
Sat at the bar, very relaxed atmosphere for a Wednesday night. I was greeted right away by a friendly bartender. Food was great. Only gripe I have is my Manhattan was $15. I would go back
Two of the four meals we had for Easter Brunch were awful The bloody Mary’s were not good as well.
Good food but atmosphere needs work. Was like a cafeteria.
Once again, the Food was only so-so.
and the service also so-so.
front desk lacadasical (sp?)
We are taking this restaurant off our list forever.
After emphatically informing our server of my garlic and dairy allergies, 15 minutes into the service she informed me there was garlic in the bread, which I had already eaten. A complete and total fail on the restaurant’s part. The manager did comp the meal after offering to comp one appetizer. She took my number to follow up, which she never did. Worst restaurant experience in years, needless to say!
This is my second time at this establishment. I love the ambience and the food was delicious I recommend it to all.
I read the dinner menu for the lunch menu during restaurant week & was very disappointed with the meal selection. Would have liked more to choose from than a salad or turkey club sandwich. Macaroni & cheese is a side dish & not an entree.
I ordered Chicken waffle, it looked great but was little dry to eat. Overall it was ok.
This past Saturday was my first and last time eating at Towne. The service was horrible. We were served our entrees minutes after receiving our appetizers and the wait staff was not impressive. Food was mediocre at best.
The noise level was defining not energetic. The food was very good but over priced.
Good to check this nice gem out, very sweet ambiance food was golf and super awesome. Johnny was a great server!!
The atmosphere was very nice. The cob salad could be improved. Double check the bill at the end, as ours had some extra items we didn't get.
Waitress was very nice and helpful.
We were very displeased with the service. Our first and second course was served way too soon. I hate feeling rushed at a restaurant, it's my biggest pet peeve, so therefore I cannot recommend. The food was pretty good, but service is everything to me and that was sub par.
Valentine special was great!
She really liked the food. She dound very perfect as romantic dining.
It was my first time going there for brunch. We had the special madI gras menu. The huevos rancheros were delicious and the staff was very friendly and attentive. The restaurant was cozy and serene. I will definitely return.
Usually the food at Towne is great. This time it was very good, but not up to its usual level. Admittedly, the bar is high for Towne, so it's still a place I'd recommend.
Food was extremely expensive and quite unremarkable; service was slow despite the restaurant being nearly empty.
Overall dining at Towne Stove and Spirits was an average experience. Things were OK but very little was great. I had the sirloin steak and it was overcooked and not the quality of cut I expected for the price. My date had the lamb and that was prepared very well.
A little bit of a disappointing brunch for such a good restaurant. Slow service and food was fine, not great. Wasn't worth the price overall.
While there, my sister asked me if the restaurant had just opened because it had that feeling to it--like it was just figuring things out. However, it's been open for years. We had to ask for everything--spoons for tea we all got, salt and pepper, maple syrup for french toast. They never brought the mimosa that was ordered, so we ended up cancelling it. Everything was just difficult and not the relaxing brunch we'd hoped for. The food was pretty good, but for the price, I'd expect better.
I’ve been wanting to come here for a long time, but was unfortunately really disappointed. We walked in and waited at the host station for a solid 5 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. When the host came up he said “hey can I help you with something?” Um yes, we’d like a table? This is a restaurant?! Bizarro.
Food was super expensive and really sub par. Caesar salad had little dressing and was extremely dry. Shrimp cocktail was good. Pizza was a sham. I got the “homemade sausage” one and the vegetables were hard and it had little toppings.
I was shocked because i had initially heard really good things when this place first opened. Maybe it’s gone downhill?
A super great restaurant. We had a wonderful meal and the service was fabulous.
I probably wouldn’t go back. The food was mediocre. I had oysters and they were fresh and delicious, the calamari was ok but the meals were a disappointment. I got the duck and it was tough, and over cooked. My friend got the salmon and it was ok not much added flavor. Dishes not worth the price.
Went for brunch. It was an absolutely delicious meal! The staff were attentive and courteous! My group of 4 was extremely impressed! Can't wait to go back!
We went for Sunday brunch at noon. It was not busy about 1/3 full in the dining room. The service was lacking in, well, service. The coffee took a long time to come and subsequently refilled. Hailed the person who had served us the coffee to ask to place a drink order and she said 'i'm not your waiter' and did not bother to get waiter. I did not order the drink. The food arrived with no jam for the english muffin. Had to ask for it, whereas usually these things are brought out along with the food. I thought it was a bit declasse for this type of restaurant for the raspberry jam to be brought out in a little plastic condiment cup, clearly it had been scooped out of a larger jar. They should have the individual little jars or a better presentation if they are scooping out of a larger jar. The best part of brunch were the breakfast potatoes, crispy, creamy, simply outstanding and plenty of them. Need to polish up the service.
Quality has gone down. The lobster popovers were stale and chewy. Very disappointed
We used a discounted coupon and the value was very good - food was fantastic and great ambiance. Will definitely return!
Service was bit slow and spotty despite room being pretty empty. Wine list was depleted. They were out of nearly everything and we had to settle for whatever they had available. However all of our food orders were prepared very well. I'll probably be back to give them another shot, but based on this experience I am not rushing back anytime soon.
Went here 1 year ago and had a fabulous meal and experience. This time the meals were sub par and the dining room was almost empty on a Friday Evening at 7 pm. Not sure what has happened, but a definite change had occurred . Not worth the cost.
AWFUL EXPERIENCE!! Poor service, my boyfriend's plate arrived 15min than mine and we asked the waiter and she was like the other will be here shortly, (I guess we don't understand the same for shortly)...
Don't waste your time and money in go to this restaurant, you have too many better options around.
