We’ve been to town over a lot of years, generally about one a year. The skirt steak with garlic mashed potatoes has been a signature dish that whole time. It’s gone downhill badly though. The green beans it is served with were cooked almost beyond recognition, limp and cold. They seemed reheated in fact. And the onions that used to be freshly cooked finely cut have been replace by heated up breaded frozen food rings. At $33 for the entree, it was pretty poor.
The chicken and ribs was much better, but the lousy skirt steak ruined the meal.
Such a great spot to celebrate a birthday! Highly recommend the brunch/lunch for a group - delicious, not so hectic, leisurely!
Everything was fantastic about our dining experience at Town. We ordered cheesy garlic bread, deviled eggs, and a wedge salad for appetizers. Then ribs with potato gratin and mac and cheese, and teriyaki skirt steak. Then bread pudding with ice cream for dessert. We had 3 cocktails and 1 glass of wine total. It was a ton of delicious food. The total came out to be only $163 for all that food which was amazing. The quality of the food was very high and the presentation was great! The best part was the service. Our waiter took excellent care of us. We will definitely be back.
It’s always excellent during the week. Weekends, we tend to get the meat undercooked. We always have excellent time
Excellent eatery for steaks and baked potatoes. Centrally located in San Carlos restaurant district. Recommend reserving a table as this place is packed also in week days.
Love this place. Great food, great atmosphere, great drinks.
Went for a birthday dinner and had a wonderful time. Service was great, friendly and funny. Food and drink service was prompt. The food was great, I would recommend the Town Cut Prime Rib along with the mashed potatoes and mac n' cheese. I would go back!
The food is great but the service was outstanding. Our waitress was great. She made great recommendations based upon our input and when we told her the steak was slightly over cooked, she immediately had them replace it, and the manager comped it.
I have been here twice and both times had a great experience. Food, service, ambiance and overall experience was both enjoyable and something I intend to repeat. Already planning birthday and anniversary celebrations for the place.
Ambiance is great, food is wonderful, but service was the star. The restaurant allowed us to switch our table from inside to the outdoor area at the last minute -- even though there were 7 of us (it was a beautiful night). The wait staff were wonderful as well, attentive yet not overbearing. Our server
(Juan Carlos) cheerfully accommodated all of our requests, including that we needed separate checks due to being on business. It was the second time I've been here (both times on business) and each visit exceeded expectations.
Other than not remembering to sit our guests who arrived after we did at our table causing a 20 minute delay it was fine. The food and of course ambiance is always good at Town.
Always a good choice when the ladies get together.
Used to be one of my go to restaurants. Twice in one week it has been a terrible disappointment. One salad came out wrong, not once, but twice. Grilled tomatoes were overcooked and dry. Too many other good places, so it's unlikely I'll ever be back.
I’ve been for dinner and lunch, this was my first time for brunch. It did not disappoint! Pricey but worth it!!
Love the food and ambiance. Was a little disappointed in the service this time. We were there to celebrate a birthday (it was indicated on the reservation), but it was not recognized EXCEPT by the hostess AFTER we had ordered (she brought a couple of menus with "happy birthday" printed on them - too late). Our server never acknowledged our celebration although she was very attentive to the birthday celebration in the booth next to ours to the point at which it ended up being a distraction (including loudly comp-ing their dessert; ours was not). Although it is not my style, next time, I will make sure to announce loud and clear that we are celebrating when we walk in the door.
We were seated at one of the strangest configured tables I’ve seen for a party of 6, and it was difficult to manage conversation. Then we had to flag down a waiter to ask if he was our waiter. Although he wasn’t, he graciously took our drink orders. After that, service improved. Our appetizers were delicious, particularly the cauliflower. I ordered the Town Bowl, and was disappointed. It was a heaping bowl of veggies and grains that was difficult to make a dent in, and I didn’t find it all that tasty, in spite of the waiter’s hearty recommendation. We usually enjoy going to Town, but not so much this time.
got there early and was seated early. They had menus made special for my friends bday, love that touch! The waiter was very accommodating. I didn't care for my cocktail and said my friends would drink it and ordered myself a new one. To my surprise he removed the cocktail from the bill which was NOT something I expected. It's not their fault I didn't care for the drink. I was more than willing to pay for it. Just goes to show their ambition to please their guests for the full experience. Love this place!!
I love Town!! My husband and I are regulars there and we leave happy every time. The service is awesome as well the food!
Daughters birthday/Fat Tuesday
Excellent dinner and drinks as always. Tonight I had the Miso Glazed Chilean Seabass for a change. It was excellent. So tasty and not too filling. I will definitely be back again soon.
Town never disappoints. Town has the recipe for a successful restaurant....fabulous food, inviting ambience, and terrific service.
Town is the perfect restaurant for couples, friends, and families.
I would recommend Town to anyone and everyone.
Food was fabulous. Service was even better! Our waiter made recommendations and assisted us several times.
Great lobster and very good fillet mignon.
My family comes here often for birthdays and celebrations; I’ve also come here for business lunches. Never disappointed with the food, drinks or service. Always a pleasant time. Great kitchen, well-managed restaurant.
It was my 3rd time dinning here and yet again everything was excellent! Thank you so much. Will definitely be back again
Maurizio was our waiter and was fantastic!! The food was great, the waiter was very personable and made our experience the best!!! Gotta love Town!!!
We went to brunch to celebrate our daughter’s birthday. We were a party of 9 and we were seated at an oval table, where we could all see each other and enjoy conversation. It was perfect. Our waiter was Ramas, and he was fabulous. He was very attentive to our table without over doing it. He even had special birthday menus sent to our table. The food was delicious. The drinks were awesome. The coffee kept coming. The desserts were excellent. We couldn’t have asked for a better brunch experience. Thank you Ramas, for making it extra special.
Will go again service was outstanding excellent waiter.
I had chicken and waffle and it was horrible. The chicken was dry and the waffle was like a brick with no flavor. I told the waiter I was disappointed.
Wow another restaurant in the Bay Area that used to be amazing has gone downhill. The restaurant is screaming for a remodel. The tables are all weathered and even the walls are all banged up. Who ever has been adding some of their decor touches lately needs help! Adding thick, extra long curtains to the main entrance is ridiculous. You are basically closing out people from wanting to enter your restaurant. It just seems to have changed to a lower class.
Towne was great as usual. Have yet to have food or service that wasn’t a quality product.
wonderful waiter and delicious food, great atmosphere
Town never lets us down!! ALWAYS consistent service and delicious food!
My friends and I LOVE Town! Everything on their menu is delicious and the bread pudding is a must-have!!
As usual, Our Town experience was lovely. They had our table ready along with personalized menus for our sons birthday.
The servers are the best. Food was generally quite good although the Teriyaki skirt steak - which is usually yummy - was burnt on the outside. Oh well...
Overall, great restaurant.
Service was great, food was just ok. I ordered the chicken and it was very dry.
Really nice evening. Cocktails and ribs were great.
If a friend wants to be be at the bar and be seen then I would recommend Town. Being a long time resident of San Carlos and used to frequent A Tavola before it changed to Town. Things were different back then and even when Town first opened it was different. It used to have a much more welcoming atmosphere.
Loco mock was delicious! Great service as well!
Consistently great..TOWN continues to turn out a great experience and, new to us this time, was a realization they have a thoughtful kids menu that doesn't break the bank and isn't an afterthought. TOWN knows its patrons well!
