Be adventurous, go to TOWN…
Food was quite good at Town. Service was excellent. Noise level was a bit loud. The lamb shank dish was a little out of balance; too much meat relative to the small amount of vegetables. The fisherman’s stew was truly excellent.
Value is average as everything is outrageously expensive on Nantucket.
We would go again.
Very noisy place. Food is consistently good. Server took our forks off the salad plates when done and put them back down on the table for us to use with our main course - gross.
The meal was fine just the seating arrangement
They might as well have my wife and I with the did functional family with the 21 year old son
Load and a noxious
They had to stop serving the father drinks
If you dine there ask for a bar high top otherwise your sitting with strangers
The duck was excellent. One of my favorite dishes of all time. They were extremely short-staffed the evening we were there, but I would recommend Town to anyone visiting Nantucket.
Music blaring under our table - asked to lower and no one did. Service was awful - took forever for drinks and food to arrive and place was hardly packed. The food was awful! Tasteless, menu made no sense and was so overpriced. We’re from NYC and expected a great meal In Nantucket and it was horrible. Go somewhere else!
Able to book a table the same day and got the corner table on the patio where we could watch folks walk by, enjoy the breezes and late day sunshine. Ordered starters and small plates and it was all fresh, very tasty and enjoyable
Malcolm was outstanding. I wish all waiters were well trained, anticipated moves, and when needed, go over and beyond to heighten diners’ experiences.
Food was average both and presentation was so-so - not innovative. One of us had the pork that was an unusual combination of ingredients, not served as a pork chop;one of us had the steak that was better. Service was attentive, and price was reasonalbe
Great sushi though I felt like we were treated as an afterthought. We didn’t get seated until well after our reservation then the music drowned out any chance of conversation. Good food but would go earlier next time. Staff seemed a bit frazzled.
The absolute winner, and maybe the best value on island, is the chickpea fries... clocking in at a modest $6. Perfect with a cocktail or Cisco brew...
We had a terrible experience at this restaurant. We made a 7:30pm reservation but weren’t seated until 8:20pm. Once we ordered it was another hour before our main course came. Very unfortunate as we were a party of 6 and had made the reservation on Open Table weeks before.
Family Vacation outing
Lovely waitress, but very slow service from bar and kitchen.
Only problem was long wait for food
Good value and delicious, eating outside was a bonus!
I went here with good expectations. Unfortunately they were not met. First, we were seated about 12-15 minutes past our scheduled time. Something uncommon for fine Nantucket dining. Then we were created with the flickering of lights around our, the patio was wonderful, yet flickering lights? We were told the switch was in a congested area. The food was good though. The edamame was interesting already pre cracked and all, a first for me. The entrees were great, yet service was incredibly poor. Slow for water coming to the table, and at 9:45 we were ultimately forced out of the restaurant due to people from the bar using our chairs as armrests!
Service was terrible. Sent my salmon back to be cooked more and it never came back. And! The waiter never checked on it. When addressed , he invited us back, but that won’t happen
Excellent ambiance! Highly recommend the sushi
The host was an absolute treat and the waitress we had was so sweet. They made the start to our night very special
Service and experience was excellent! Delicious and fun 💓
Terrible food! This place is very disappointing. Used to be good.
great service and lots of fun
Fun place- food was great!
Service was extremely slow and rude wait staff. When asking about an allergy, they were inpatient.
Our wait service was pretty bad. The water dude literally spilt ice on me and then poured water on the table and walked away. Our waitress came by once or twice but def not enough. The main meals were lacking.
Just not what we expected. Will not return.
It was all great...until we sat down.
I hate to write this bad review, but I feel compelled to since it was all the positive reviews here that led us to book a table at TOWN. But I knew the minute we walked in that the I should have turned around. The Asian fusion menu that also had Mexican and clam chowder combined with the French signage on the walls, TVs and pleather seats told me: this was a very confused restaurant with an identity complex. The foods made no sense together, was slow, wrong items arrived and overall it was just such a huge disappointment. The only exception was the waiter explained the head chef was out that night and he apologized and took off an appetizer and the Maine course that we didn’t order. I am so sorry to say that I would never go back.
Unfortunately, the restaurant didn't live up to our expectations. It seemed like a casual place to take our friends that were visiting. First of all, no air conditioning so it was hot. They got my husband's appetizer wrong so when they got it to him, we were already finished with ours. It was a long time to receive each course. Our server was trying very hard. I ordered a drink that they ran out of for a second one. Instead of telling us that will try to find another bottle, the bartender left the restaurant looking for this bottle. I clearly would have nixed the drink if I knew the situation since it was a long time before back and with drinks. Our main course also took a while to be served. The duck ramen dish was too heavy. My husband's halibut was over cooked. I have salmon which was good. The desserts looked good as they were going to other tables. However, we were so agitated by dessert, we just left. We definitely would have ordered the brownie and ice cream if were happier customers. A nice gesture would have been to send over desserts on the house as a thank you for tolerating their lack of everything!! We will never go back!!
We used to love this place, but sadly not as good as it used to be. Host sat us in front of a blaring speaker, would not accommodate a table change, and seemed annoyed when we asked to turn the music down. Even the waitress couldn’t hear us to take the order! Had sushi that seemed pre-made. Shrimp tempura was cool and the spicy tuna on top was ice cold. Didn’t seem fresh. A shame as it used to be out go-to place in the summer.
Great appetizers and drinks, lovely space. The entrees were disappointing though. The curry was not good but my fish was pretty good. The first course was so good that the expectations were high.
Sushi is always great! I had the mussels and really enjoyed them as well. Nothing very spicy fur my husband and he likes spice but had chicken curry and enjoyed it.
A good experience and we’ll be back. A little pricy Fire fat you get but I guess sushi is usually pricy.
Good place. Service was great. Malcom, our server, was very knowledgeable and was very helpful with recommendations.
Food was pretty good and service was good. Would go back another year.
The food and service were excellent. The music was odd and the restaurant is very dark.
The menu has great variety and the restaurant has an attractive bar. Our dinner was excellent, as was our server, Amanda. I enjoyed the atmosphere and experience.
Surprised it has such high stars. The food and service left much to be desired.
Was a winter night on Nantucket so it was really perfect. The bartender Louise, who was truly running the entire show, was wonderfully attentive without being cloying. She is such a nice lady and Town is lucky to have her!
