    The waiter was surly and rude. All three of us noticed his poor attitude. Food was great but the server made for a poor experience.

    200 year old building serving tasty southern classics with option. Attentive service with lots of ambiance!

    The atmosphere is beautiful at the Tousey House however the service, and food are just OK. The kitchen wasn’t able to split a dish consisting of two eggs Benedict for us. Jam is served out of individual Smuckers plastic cups. Green tomatoes are cooked well however, have no flavor. I wish I had a little bit more of an elevated experience.

    We forgot we weren’t in Charleston, SC anymore. Seafood is iffy at best inland. The smell of fish entering the restaurant was off putting. I enjoyed my halibut while eating, but experienced a bit of tummy discomfort after finishing. And my husband wasn’t all that crazy about his scallops. However, we will return. The service friendly and efficient. The atmosphere like going back in time—very historic. Parking easy. Loved the look of the intimate bar. Just no seafood next time.

    This is my third visit. The food is just OK. We had the blackened mahi-mahi wrap and the Tousey pasta as well as two kid meals. There’s nothing really bad to say about the food, but it just doesn’t exceed expectations. It’s OK. Also, we were seated upstairs where it is virtually silent and the tables are close together. Everyone can hear every word that is said, and it is a little awkward, especially when you are with children. We probably won’t rush back.

    Carolyn was our server and she did a fantastic job! Sat outside and it was lovely!!! Highly recommend!!

    Like lipstick on a pig, this old Pettit house, with uneven floors and wobbly tables is dressed up in its finest with white tablecloths, and fine china with excellent service and food that is fresh and well prepared as you will find anywhere. Not for bargain hunters but if good food and service in a unique setting is the goal, it is recommended.
