A group of friends has been looking for new places to dine. We had heard about the Tousey House Tavern a few years back, so we decided to try it. We are happy we finally got around to going. The food was delicious. All four of us got something different. None of us were disappointed with our selections. Our meals were hot and tasty. The service was excellent. Our server kept our glasses full and checked numerous times with us to see if we needed anything. All of us agreed we would be going back again.

Colonial cottage type setting. We had my 85 year old mom with us and were seated upstairs, which was a bit inconsiderate of her. Service was efficient but mechanical, not very personal despite not being very busy (our room was empty when we were seated). Brunch was good. Quiche could have been cooked a bit longer, but biscuit dish with gravy, eggs, and ham was huge and yummy. Overall good, and I'd return to give their dinner menu a try.

We are weekly patrons of Tousey House for Sunday brunch. We have always had a good experience for brunch. If there was ever a complaint at all it was minimal and they do the best to make it right. We love our Sunday servers as well. Always make us feel welcome.

We had a great overall experience but they need a bigger area to wait in while you’re waiting for your table. The bar is very small and you’re left standing in the entryway with hosts and servers trying to get past everyone carrying trays of drinks and food. That’s a problem. We waited about 30 Minutes for our table even though we had a reservation. That needs to be worked on as well.

Food was good. Service was very good. A very minor thing was the sides weren’t listed on the menu so you have to ask the server and there’s no dessert menu so once again you have to ask the server. Not a big deal but I prefer to be able to look at the options.

We went around mid day and the location is beautiful. The house is so charming and well kept up. It’s definitely worth visiting for the ambiance. The food was pretty good, but from reviews I would have expected a bit more. We did not get steak, so that may have been our error. Overall. Great atmosphere. Good service. Ok food.

I had the opportunity to dine on two consecutive Saturdays. Both were birthday celebrations. On this occasion, all three diners chose steak. Two chose the filet and one chose the ribeye. We loved the steaks ,with the filet topping our PAST preferred filet from a well known Cincinnati steak house. We have already decided to return for next month’s birthday! We will definitely have the fried green tomatoes, filets and it will be a toss up between the warm cinnamon bread pudding and the awesome blackberry cobbler. Who am I kidding we’ll have both!

We were here for our first visit on a busy Saturday night. They had several specials as well as the regular menu. Table placement in the room we were in was super crowded. Our selections included fried green tomatoes, fried chicken and the house filet. We also tried the hot slaw and a house salad. For the tomatoes I found the cream cheese mousse a little bland, kept thinking pimento cheese would have been a better choice. The waiter warned us the fried chicken was hit or miss (it was a miss) and the filet wasn’t anything special. Service was fantastic.

Our first time here in a few years. Food and service was excellent. I had the walleye and my wife had fried chicken. Both were great. This was only tartar sauce I’ve ever found I liked. They had bacon cheese fritters as a special for an appetizer and they were outstanding. Waitress said used to be on the menu and they took them off. They should bring them back. Can’t wait to go again.

The welcome was friendly, seating with a reservation was prompt, and the atmosphere was refined and comfortable. We ordered the charcuterie, which was just okay, only 5-6 (of one type) of cracker leaving nothing to put the remaining meat and cheese on. It also doesn’t have enough variety for the price. From there, however, everything was spot-on and delicious! We ordered the Tousey Pasta (both the shrimp and chicken) each of which had a great flavor profile and the perfect mixture of ingredients. The bread and salads were just right, as well. Two notable items that our party thoroughly enjoyed were the Espresso Martinis and the Blackberry Cobbler. The latter of which, is not to be missed! The server was pleasant, efficient and engaging. We’ve already booked a return visit for next weekend!

This was the perfect lunch spot with a long time friend of cold winter day. The warmth of the setting and our server made for a delightful experience. Our server gave us time to talk and enjoy our food without unnecessary interruptions, while still being attentive (this is a special skill).
