Like lipstick on a pig, this old Pettit house, with uneven floors and wobbly tables is dressed up in its finest with white tablecloths, and fine china with excellent service and food that is fresh and well prepared as you will find anywhere. Not for bargain hunters but if good food and service in a unique setting is the goal, it is recommended.

Everything was perfect for date night! Our server gave me a great bourbon recommendation from their extensive list of more than 200 bottles. The food and dessert were delicious!

We had such a wonderful time as a family but the restaurant was amazing!!! Melissa was wonderful and communicative, respectful of our family time but attentive to making our experience memorable and just gracious. This is what customer service is! An outside patio, inside to accommodate family gatherings, handicap accessible & genuine kindness. Absolutely amazing food that should be in a Michelin restaurant series. The Fried Green Tomatoes - so refreshing & seasoned to perfection with sour cream & chutney, the pretzels and dip with grapes & apple slices...OMG top of the line!! The Fried Chicken...hands down 10/10, Sea Scallops - OMG, the spinach risotto...pimento cheese. Don't miss this restaurant - the history, food and service is like none other. Thank you...can't wait to visit again!!

We absolutely love our experience here every time we come! Love the kids menus and the jokes on the back, that was a new surprise since our last visit! Food was delicious and everyone was super kind to our boys (7 & 9)!

We had a reservation and were seated right away. Another table of two was seated a few minutes later. The server got them drinks and then took their food order. We were a little confused because we were there first, but whatever. The server finally came over and took our drink order and brought us drinks. We were ready to order but she just sat our drinks down and walked away before we could even say anything. She went to seat another table and take their drink orders, she then took their food order and disappeared. We had been waiting over 15 minutes at this point so we left cash for our drinks and left. I later received a notification from Open Table that I never checked in for my reservation, which I was fortunately able to dispute. I will not be back to this restaurant even though I’ve been a regular customer for over 10 years.

We stopped in for dinner on our way to the Cincinnati airport. What a great decision! The staff, food and setting was awesome. We had the deviled eggs and grouper fingers for an appetizer and they were amazing! My husband had the fried chicken special with mashed potatoes and gravy and green beans, slaw and biscuit and I had the crab cakes. All of it was delicious. We will be coming back and highly recommend stopping in for southern cooked food!

Everything was great, the only issue I had was the prime rib was not as tender as I was hoping and a little fatty. It was still delicious but just took a long time chewing.

We might have been the noisy table as we had a lovely dinner with my sisters and mom celebrating Mother's Day. The food was spectacular, the service was fantastic and our server was enigmatic. Ambiance is always lovely as it's in an older house with creaky steps and dark paneling, lots of rooms and decor. I've been a few times with my husband and friends and I love everything about this place. The food is high end, but priced fairly and tastes great. I can't wait to visit again!

Excellent location, food and service. Overall great experience! Shrimp and grits for me, fried chicken thighs for my wife. Bacon and cheese fritters for appetizer. Will be going back!
