We had the best meal I have had in Rochester in a very long time. Our Server, Jen, was AWESOME! We cannot wait to come back!
We had an amazing dinner for my brothers graduation. The bartender when we first arrived was fantastic, knowledgeable, and helpful. Once we moved on to dinner our server and busses were so there for us! They went with the flow, always a step away and getting anything we needed. The food was sublime, from the steaks to the side dishes and finishing with classic desserts done to perfection. Everyone enjoyed themselves and left satisfied. We will be back. For reference, party of 9, Thursday night reservation at 7. Thank you to tournadoes for a great experience!
Favorite restaurant in Rochester. Great food. Great service.
Had the Wagyu meatball appetizer. Outstanding. My wife had the small filets done 3 ways. She loved it. I had the Wagyu ribeye. Ordered it med rare. Perfectly prepared and seasoned. Could be the best steak I've ever had .
We were in town for the weekend for the Nitrate Picture Show at the George Eastman Museum. Visited Tournedos for dinner and it was awesome! The place is really nice and easy to get to. The service was very friendly and attentive. The food was excellent. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our meals. I had the trio and he has the strip steak. Our appetizers and salads prior were also great. The sides were very good, too, especially the mushrooms. Looking forward to coming back next time we’re in town.
Everything was simply amazing. Ambience, service, food, location...all fantastic. Steak was melt-in-mouth perfect. For the price point, worth every dollar (though definitely a special occasion place rather than everyday).
Still the best place to go for a special occasion or if you want to do something really nice for good friends take them there.
Leo creates a warm and inviting atmosphere. The food is superb.
Always love my experience at Tournedos!
The service was impeccable and the atmosphere relaxed and quiet. The seafood salad was wonderful - light, well-dressed, and a perfect portion size for lunch. The asparagus soup was creamy and delicious - just right for a rainy afternoon.
Fabulous food! Best steak I think I have ever had. We lingered long after our meal with business acquaintances and never felt rushed. Taking my husband there for his birthday.
We were visiting from Texas and wanted a great dinner. So glad we decided on Tournedos, the food was amazing & the steaks were cooked to perfection.
My husbands birthday so made reservations. Did NOT know we were being put in the bar closet but waitress and food were great. Really would have preferred to know in advance that we were being but in the closet rather than the restaurant
Great food. The service was a bit off compared to other times that I had eaten here.
One of my favorite spots. Again they did not disappoint!
Steaks were outstanding. The wine was a tad pricey. Really enjoyed our meal.
Great dinner with an out of town guest. Everything was super!n
Perhaps the best steak I’ve ever had. Great service. Very knowledgeable waiter ( great job Leo!). Perfect restaurant for special occasions. The prices are on the high side but between the food, service, and ambiance, you can’t beat it. We’ll definitely be back!!
Best restaurant we have been to in sometime. Great food great service and great ambiance.
By far the best fine dining experience I had on a recent trip to Rochester. The food was very good overall and the Clams Casino (a personal old-school favorite) were outstanding. I was apprehensive visiting a steakhouse considering I live in DC where good options are around every corner. It was great.
We celebrated a milestone Birthday for my husband at Tournedos. We were a party of six and it was the first time any of us had been there. We've all been to many of the other local high end steak restaurants in the area and Tournedos was by far the best! Our server was kind, professional and very patient with a our many menu questions - there's much to choose from! Each dish, beginning with our appetizers to our main course, was exceptional. I also found that the food was prepared without a lot of added unnecessary seasoning. I often find many restaurants over salt or tenderize their meat with various rubs. My NY Strip Oscar style dish was incredible - the beef, crab and asparagus flavors were able to shine. Our server also kindly accommodated my need to bring my husband's favorite dessert from a local bakery and served it most graciously. It was truly a treat in every respect and we look forward to returning to Tournedos again soon!
Both the steaks I ordered were over cooked on the outside and raw on the inside. It’s probably not worth $40+ for each. Hope
We were there to celebrate a birthday and our experience was excellent. The service was attentive and the food was delicious. We enjoy the ambiance of the restaurant.
Been there two times. The first time the server got political in our brief conversations. Was dining alone this time at 6:30, by the time the waitress got to me, the covered bread on my table served by the first waiter has already got cold- so I would say perhaps 10 minutes from when I got seated. The servers were nice this time, friendly and appropriately attentive.
Ordered a dry-aged bone-in rib steak petite, half of it was perfect and the other half was unevenly seared. The lava cake was moist and balanced though, and they make a decent martini. I’m no expert in crab cakes but if you like bigger chunks of crabs and moist texture with just a tiny bit of crispiness at the top, you’ll like the ones here.
I’d recommend going on an occasion, I just went there alone because I felt like having steak last minute and Tournedos offer easier parking than Morton’s and a more convenient location than Black and Blue. Tournedos definitely does not come on top.
Even though it's a steakhouse, we had the seafood specials, scallops wrapped in bacon and salmon. The salmon was the best I ever had. Drinks were strong, couldn't finish, which is rare, but the appetizer, dinner and dessert made it worth the higher cost for a nice special night out.
My husband and I each had the best steaks we have had in years. A perfect spot!
Very expensive, ala carte menu. Food was very good but due to the cost could not go there for anything but special occasions.
Typical, excellent meal. Eating in the bar/lounge at the last minute is always a nice option, especially if you want to dine less expensively.
Steakhouse burger was awesome, cooked medium as ordered. Companion's snails were tasty too. Her half chopped salad was flavorful and huge.
The oreo cheesecake isn't typically a desert option, but we loved it.
Can't recall a disappointing meal in years. We'll be back.
Great food, reasonable prices. Would go there again.
We came in on a Monday night. They accommodated a last minute change request and placed our party in their beautiful parlor. The food was fantastic and our server was amazing. Thanks!
We arrived and were greeted by a very friendly valet and a wonderful host. We were promptly seated in a nice cozy booth overlooking a warm crackling fireplace. The ambiance in the dining room was perfect for our date night. Our servers Jess and Mike were amazing. This being our first time there, we had questions about the menu, Jess answered all of them! I ordered the Wagu Ribeye and my girlfriend ordered the tenderloin. We were not disappointed. The steak was perfectly seasoned and cooked exactly how we asked for it. The brussel sprouts and sweet potato had excellent flavor and were a large enough portion to share. We ended the night with the mouthwatering molten cake, it was outstanding. The attention to detail was second to none, you really get what you pay for. We ended the night impressed only to walk outside to our vehicle parked right out front already running with the heat on! Great experience, We will definitely be back.
Wagyu Ribeye was cooked to perfection. Love the way the King Crab is cut for an easier and less messy eating experience. Lobster bisk was creamy and the escargot was flavorful.
The food was incredible
My fiance and I came here the Friday after Valentine's day because we had a gift card to use from ages ago and wanted to enjoy a high end meal together. We arrived and were seated promptly and were pleasantly surprised by the complimentary valet and coat check services. The service we received from the staff throughout the night was wonderful and attentive.
For our meal he ordered the Porterhouse and I had a Filet Mignon. The steak was underwhelming in flavor. For a place that prides itself on their cuts of meat, we were disappointed. The meat was clearly high quality but didn't seem to be seasoned well and really needed the sauce accompaniments as it was flavorless without. The sides, however, were delicious, especially the truffle mashed potatoes, and the wine we enjoyed was wonderful.
Our primary qualms with Tournedos relate back to the cost and what you get for your money: everything is a la carte' and for $65 for a steak without sides I would expect it to be impeccably seasoned and prepared. Sadly we were underwhelmed on this front. While we are unlikely to return due to this, we hope patrons who do not mind spending this kind of money continue to enjoy Tournedos.
Fantastic meal and atmosphere. We will surely be back for many special occasions.
Went for Valentine’s Day dinner and it was terrible. The bartender took forever to serve us. Then we were taken to our table that was a backfill to the actual restaurant the chairs were extremely uncomfortable and the room echoed so you could hear everyone’s conversation. The food was extremely mediocre. The only good part of the meal with the filet. Lastly, the bartender and server tried to charge us for other people’s drinks. After accusing us of being wrong they then miraculously recalled that we only got one glass of wine at the bar and a bottle at the table... no remorse, and the manager was less than helpful.
The meal was very well prepared, the atmosphere was upscale but relaxing, and the service was friendly from the time we drove up to the restaurant until the time we left. Our meal was not rushed so we were able to enjoy all of the courses. A very nice change from most other restaurants whose atmosphere is very noisy and meals are more rushed. We were very happy we chose to have our Valentines dinner here.
