Wagyu Ribeye Steak 7 Score
Dry-Aged Porterhouse Steak
Cream of Asparagus Soup
with Jumbo Lump Crab Meat
Simply excellent! We are visitors to Rochester from Washington DC. We had Oysters, dry aged steak, Pork Chops, Sea Bass, Potato Gratin, and Brussels Sprouts. Everything was perfect and the wine list is well done yet not overwhelming. The service was professional, refined and appropriately attentive. We were very pleased and highly recommend Tournedos to those seeking a fine dining experience.
The appetizers were great. The Caesar salad and sides were great. My husband got the Waugh filet minon was AMAZING. The waygu ribeye was not anything impressive. I have had low choice ribeyes that were more tender than the ribeye I had. So if you are wanting super tender- go with the filet- melt in your mouth!!
My wife and I went out for our first nice dinner in way too long (thanks COVID) and Tournedo’s was a great choice. I had a bone in wagyu ribeye that was one of the absolute best steaks I’ve ever eaten. Perfectly cooked and seasoned, and not absurdly fatty like ribeye sometimes are. I didn’t need the horseradish cream sauce but it was a very nice touch all the same. We shared an asparagus risotto as the side which was also magnificent. Dessert was chocolate cake with Swiss butter cream frosting and a creme brûlée, both outstanding. Service was prompt and attentive. The decor is pretty much like every other nice steakhouse: dark wood, visible wine cellar, white linens, etc. Which is to say it’s nice.
As for value, it’s in line with most high end steakhouses. You’re not getting out of there without spending at least $100 per person. More if you want the wagyu, which you should, because it’s incredible.
Looking forward to going back!
Our waitress Megan was absolutely wonderful! Accommodated is wonderful and made our birthday experience a wonderful one! Would highly recommend. Food was 10/10
Food , staff and ambiance was wonderful as always.
Excellent food and service. Would recommend this restaurant always.
Everyone was wonderful and kind. Food was amazing. Didn’t realize it was valet parking but the valet was kind enough to take a Venmo tip. If back in the area and wanting a fine dining experience will go back
I would highly recommend Tournedos. I have been to the restaurant many times.
Had dinner for our 42 Wedding Anniversary and they were prepared for it. Complimentary Champagne was a nice touch. Service couldn't have been better and food was to die for. Serving sizes too big to eat it all. Took some home.
Very nice overall. Brandon, our waiter could not have been NICER! Specials and Menu were huge and our waiter explained them very well. Appetizers were large. MY wife ordered the pork chops and when they came we could not believe the size (and there were 2 with the bone on). My Kansas Strip was a bit Grizzly but sill ok ... MY daughter had a chicken dish which was in sauce, and it was great. We ordered side dishes and they were beautiful. Topped the night off with their chocolate cheesecake with ice cream (we didn't have room, but we ate it anyway!!) Pricing is a bit high, but our experience was good! Brandon made sure we enjoyed ourselves, and we rewarded him properly.
This was our first time to Tournedos. The food was some of the best I’ve had in a long time and the service was excellent. I would have given 5 stars easily except we experienced something a little gross that in my opinion was mishandled by management.
We started the dinner with the bread being delivered to the table with the butter and olive oil, we opened the basket and were a bit surprised/confused. There were only three pieces of cold dry bread.. there were three of us at the table and being our first time there we weren’t sure what to expect. My friend and I joked that they must only give us one piece per person so we save room for dinner. Unknowingly and very hungry after work, we ate the bread. It wasn’t until the server replaced the empty basket with a fresh one (inside was an entire loaf of fresh, warm bread) that we realized we were served (and had eaten) another tables scraps…
My friend an I used to work in the restaurant business during college and understand how easy it is to mix something like this up so were overall understanding, but still grossed out. We are not ones to complain but causally notified the server who later let us know she talked to management. That was the last we heard of the issue…
At the end of the night they offered a birthday dessert on the house (not sure if customary or an apology) but we never saw management.
We spent over 500 dollars that night on a dinner for three that in my option was worth it given the food an excellent service. I gave only 3 stars because I expected that an issue like we experienced would have been a larger concern, especially during a pandemic and with the restaurant’s price point.
Hopefully this review offers some awareness to the restaurant management so that something like this doesn’t happen to someone else, potentially less understanding than us. Had the incident not happened or management appropriately handled the situation, this would be 5/5 stars.
A top-level dining experience with first-class food and service.
Every thing was delightful. The steaks were grilled to perfection. Very flavorful and tender.
Petite NY strip was not a full size.. in fact it was cut in a third, thick but ridiculously small with a huge hunk of fat at the end of it to add weight..huge waste of money. The Brussels sprouts were tiny which is fine but burnt. The Cesar salad was way over seasoned and two thirds cheese. I’ve had much better NY strip steaks in 5 other restaurants for less money and all prime pieces.
We LOVE everything about this place! The food is outstanding and the service is exceptional. It is expensive but you get what you pay for. Tournedos is worth every penny.
We had an amazing time. The food was above-and-beyond delicious, the staff was super friendly and accommodating, and the atmosphere provided the perfect setting to say goodbye to the city I grew up in.
The steak and lobster was excellent, as well as the Caesar and wedge salads. Our waitress Megan was very friendly and attentive.
The food was excellent. Able to get the reservation we needed. We had the surf and turf. Very well prepared we were happy with the outcome.
Went out last night for a special dinner (anniversary) and was very impressed by Tournedos. Service was excellent. Although the restaurant was busy it was not loud. Everyone seemed to be having a great time. Steak was delicious and cooked perfectly as was the rest of our dinner. Highly recommend.
Placed at good location for conversation. Food was excellent & service was attentive, but not obtrusive.
An excellent venue for top quality food & attentive service.
Service was exceptional, atmosphere was quiet and enjoyable. Unfortunately, the food was not what I expected. The filets were not seasoned at all, and even with butter added, did not make much of a difference. The same goes for the Yukon masked potatoes. I am a huge fan of Augratine potatoes and was disappointed in those. I don't mind spending $230 but I would have expected better flavors. Again, our Waitress was phenomenal and I will say the Creme brulee was the best I have ever had hands down! I would have ordered one to take home if I knew it was that good.
You won’t be sorry with the waygu steaks or any of their fresh fish and chef inspired specials. This is a must dine, if you are celebrating something or if you just want a wonderful meal!
A birthday dinner for my husband brought us to Tournedoes. Totally excellent dinner including the fun and helpful wait staff. This was a fine dining experience just like the last time we dined here.
We had a wonderful experience having dinner with family at Tournedos. The food was tasty, well-presented and the atmosphere is very comfortable and quiet. We enjoyed our time immensely. Service is next level.
Visited with my husband for a special occasion. Great atmosphere, a lesiurely-paced meal with a wide selection. Highly recommended if you're looking for an elevated dining experience in Rochester.
Had a very nice time. Food was outstanding and the service was very polite and helpful.
Did not disappoint. This was the first time eating there and only had the reputation to go off of. Food was excellent, cooked perfectly, and the staff was polite and attentive.
I took my husband and our kids to this restaurant the food was delicious but the staff was very unprofessional, not friendly at all and was treating us like if we were the employees and they were the paying customers
The waitress was asking me what i wanted to eat from a mile away, she couldn't hear me, i couldn't hear her
Do you think she came closer to speak with me? Of course not, that was a lot of work for her
My toddler spill water on the table and they didn't clean it or give us more napkins
I was taking a picture of my daughter and one of the staff was starring at me with a disgusted face
I seriously didn't say anything to not cause a scene because my children and husband were present and celebrating father's day but honestly i didn't enjoy my time there and don't recommend this place to anyone (unless you are ordering takeout)
They don't like little kids or Hispanics with an accent or both
Tournedos restaurant, staff and food once again set the bar for quality, service and experience!! One of the best!
Food is superb, service was attentive and professional but not too warm. Prices are high, but so is the quality, so good overall. Ambience was a little unexpected, not sure if I saw the whole restaurant but seemed small and cloistered.
I relocated to Rochester from Boston, MA about 3 years ago. I LOVE dining out at exceptional restaurants, and Tournedos fits the bill. My favorite steakhouse in Boston was The Capital Grill. Frankly, with the exception of the ambiance, I prefer Tournedos. The food and service are better. Period. I did Tournedos at home a couple of times during Covid and was impressed by both the quality and little extra touches which were noted and appreciated. I really like the fact that they have expanded the menu a bit; my companion ordered a seafood app, seafood salad, and a seafood entree! My dry aged prime bone-in rib steak was the best I've ever eaten. The service was, as always, perfection. PS - I tried Black and Blue about a month ago and was sent a $50 gift card to apologize for our disappointing meal. (I used it in Boston last week - much better there!) Simply put, If you want a top notch restaurant experience in Rochester, Tournedos is it!
The Decor really needs to be updated. We sat next to the kitchen and the door is in and out of the restaurant. We heard dropping cutlery constantly and people were moving around us the whole evening. We have eaten there before but felt the food this time was not that good. I also noted that it was a birthday celebration and nothing was mentioned by the restaurant
Always a good bet
Most amazing time ever!
Excellent service and food was prepared and served perfectly. Wonderful, relaxed experience as always.
It is a little pricey but the memories you will have is totally worth it.
Really nice place especially for romantic dinner. Service was good but kitchen was backed up so we had to wait a long time for our food. However the waitress took care of our appetizers on the bill so that was nice! Food was good but overpriced ($69 for a 8 oz piece of beef! Albeit delicious it seems like a lot!) also they messed up our bill a little bit but they were super gracious about it. Overall great experience but only got very special occasions!
