This was our first visit. From the excellent waiter to the exquisite meal and elegant ambiance everything was perfect. Undoubtedly the finest porterhouse steak I have had in years and years. Definitely will return.
Great food, very pricey but they served the steak well done and we ordered medium. Took them 30 minutes to remedy the situation
Oysters were excellent and so were the Tournedos with individual sauces for each of the three steaks.
Great food, awesome wait staff. It was very expensive.
Typical steakhouse, expensive, good service. What stands out is that the steaks here are perfectly cooked to correct temperature. Unfortunately these days even at high end steakhouses , that seems to be a continuing problem that is infuriating. How can you not cook your signature products correctly?
Absolutely wonderful meal- great service and the steak was out of this world!
Great food with great service. Always happy when I leave this place.
Great quiet place to dine! The waitresses were right on top of everything! The food was fantastic!
My husband and I come to Tournedos every year for our Anniversary as we got married at the Inn on Broadway. Every year we have a perfect dinner with impeccable service and always leave happy (and full!)! We will most definitely continue this tradition and would 100% recommend this restaurant/venue/hotel to ANYONE! Cheers!
This is a high-end steakhouse. Expensive, but worth it. $200++ for a couple but IMHO it is worth it. We go on special occasions.
Tables are nicely spaced; service was attentive and excellent. We both dislike the jazz music that was playing in the background. Hence the 4 for ambience. Steaks were excellently prepared; both medium rare as ordered. Iceberg salad was excellent with a sweet bacon on top. Neither of us were fans of the mushrooms; they very badly needed more seasoning..pretty flavorless. They did run out of the Ravines Riesling. The blueberry crisp was great. Overall, a great experience!
Great service, with great quality. Proper etiquette and enough table space.
Tournedos is our special occasion restaurant. They've maintained their quality throughout the pandemic and the atmosphere promotes "safe-dining" with most seating apart from the next. The bone-in angus rib steak is still our go-to choice, probably the tastiest we have has and always cooked to perfection.
Everything was great but the small tables and n the patio are too small for two people. Ask for the bigger tables. We were lucky bc they moved us.
We wanted a romantic classy dinner. The service was the best in Rochester (two servers, unique and effective). Very classy, great neighborhood. Food was good.
This was our first experience with waygu beef. The waygu steak was over seasoned and the side of mushroom was very salty. We really enjoyed the steak with the Tournedos house steak sauce which was more on the sweet side and balance the over seasoned steak.
Going to Tournedos always feels like going home. The staff is so personable and really takes your enjoyment sincerely. We were early and were able to grab a cocktail in the lounge- Jackie and Jessica made great conversation and an even greater Manhattan.
In the main dining room, Sarah was very attentive and took the time to answer all of our questions on the menu. I had the crab cake as my appetizer and it was hands down the best crab cake I’ve had. For dinner, I tried the Wagyu Ribeye, since I had never tried Wagyu before. It was a perfect Medium Rare and an excellent steak experience. My partner ordered the Ahi Tuna rare, it was very fresh and cut like butter. Chef Carlo Peretti and the kitchen staff really know what they’re doing!
I couldn’t recommend Tournedos more, it’s hands down the best dining experience Rochester has to offer!
Food was exceptionally delicious! Service impeccable, friendly, comfortable. One of our finest dining experiences ever. Expensive, but you get what you pay for!
It was my birthday I had fun, food was really good and the service was amazing.
The only reservation we could get at the time we wanted was outdoors, which for Tournedo means on their expansive front porch/ patio. We enjoyed being able to watch the world go by a bit while we had dinner. The downside was sitting for 2 hours in 20-minute chairs. I was surprised the chairs weren't more substantial than lightweight folding chairs with padded seats.
Dropping son off at college - last time dining for him for months
Best steak that I have had in a long time.
Wonderful! I booked this reservation for my parents anniversary and they beyond impressed with everything. Thank you for making my parents anniversary special.
Jackie takes great care of us!!!!!!!
Great wagyu steak, cooked perfectly. Valet parking is free.
Everything was exquisite from the moment we stepped in until the moment we left. The food, service, and overall experience were outstanding. Unforgettable! We will definitely be back.
Everyone is always friendly and the food is amazing. The crab cakes are my favorite
The meatballs are a must order. Tuna was excellent and the Barada salad was nice and fresh. Dinner at the bar top-notch service by both of the bartenders.
Service was poor and not professional at all. My beef was poor quality hard to cut and was at least half fat and gristle. Would not return in the near future even though I have a gift certificate.
Had one of my top five filets of all time at Tournedos. Cooked perfectly. Onion rings and calamari were also tasty. Great service.
Excellent steak. We sat outside. Our waitress was excellent. We will return!
Just amazing! The food, the employees, one of the top restaurants I ate at in Rochester
wonderful experience! We have been there many times and have never been disappointed. Service is excellent and food is fabulous !
Disappointed in the food. My wife's wagyu steak came out quite rare instead of medium and needed to be sent back (I like medium rare and would've sent it back too). The tournedo trio was ok, but the maitre d' butter was very overpowering and one of the filets had an almost gritty texture to it. Appetizer of wagyu meatballs was excellent and we were pleased with the au gratin potato casserole, but the highlight of the night is supposed to be the steaks and we were left unsatisfied as steak lovers and frequenters of many other steak houses.
This is a steak house, so have a dry aged steak. Generous cuts and delicious.
What an amazing meal! My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed every bite of our dinner.
Simply excellent! We are visitors to Rochester from Washington DC. We had Oysters, dry aged steak, Pork Chops, Sea Bass, Potato Gratin, and Brussels Sprouts. Everything was perfect and the wine list is well done yet not overwhelming. The service was professional, refined and appropriately attentive. We were very pleased and highly recommend Tournedos to those seeking a fine dining experience.
The appetizers were great. The Caesar salad and sides were great. My husband got the Waugh filet minon was AMAZING. The waygu ribeye was not anything impressive. I have had low choice ribeyes that were more tender than the ribeye I had. So if you are wanting super tender- go with the filet- melt in your mouth!!
My wife and I went out for our first nice dinner in way too long (thanks COVID) and Tournedo’s was a great choice. I had a bone in wagyu ribeye that was one of the absolute best steaks I’ve ever eaten. Perfectly cooked and seasoned, and not absurdly fatty like ribeye sometimes are. I didn’t need the horseradish cream sauce but it was a very nice touch all the same. We shared an asparagus risotto as the side which was also magnificent. Dessert was chocolate cake with Swiss butter cream frosting and a creme brûlée, both outstanding. Service was prompt and attentive. The decor is pretty much like every other nice steakhouse: dark wood, visible wine cellar, white linens, etc. Which is to say it’s nice.
As for value, it’s in line with most high end steakhouses. You’re not getting out of there without spending at least $100 per person. More if you want the wagyu, which you should, because it’s incredible.
Looking forward to going back!
