Amazing food! !! Great service!
Always a wonderful experience 🍷🥩❤️
Quiet and dignified
Much of our meal was fantastic, but my steak came out medium as opposed to medium rare. I expected more by my friend’s and family’s reviews.
We go for their fish. Always perfectly prepared. The desserts are also fantastic. Outstanding crab cakes
Everything was lovely! Exceptional food, service and ambiance.
Have always had an outstanding meal at this restaurant. Excellent, courteous, professional and friendly service. Great menu and wine list. Good cocktail options. Great atmosphere. Really deserves much more attention than some other popular restaurants in town. We visit from out of town but have eaten here about 10 times and have always had an excellent experience and delicious meal. Very well run. Other restaurants should take note of how they run their business.
Everything was perfect. The steaks were the best I’ve had in Rochester. The staff was extremely attentive. I’ve spent way more for way less quality many other places in the area.
One of the few elegant restaurants in Rochester, NY.
Well paced and unobtrusive, very pleasant service. Steaks are excellent; wine list is notable. Overall a bit more expensive, but worth every cent. Only remark that probably should be said is this: for a restaurant of this calibre and price point, one would expect an appropriately dressed maitre d. Perhaps the evening we were there the regular maitre d was taken ill, and the desk clerk for the inn had to step in on short notice. In which case, one would think that person would have an emergency outfit in lieu of shabby sweater and pants. Sound snotty, but for the $$$$ one spends, one expects to be greeted by someone in proper attire.
Wonderful old Rochester ambience offering delicious food and wines. Service was excellent. Memorable.
We have been twice now, each time was amazing and well worth every penny. Had the wagyu ribeye: perfectly cooked and delicious. We call it “meat butter”, it’s THAT good. Sides are big enough to share, deserts are phenomenal and made in-house! Servers have been great and friendly. Honestly, I don’t think this place will never disappoint, and will become part of a tradition for us.
My 30th birthday dinner was superb! Can’t wait to come back for another amazing meal! Thank you!
Always a great experience!! My favorite restaurant in Rochester 🍷❤️
The food and service is always exceptional!
Tournedos has good food but the restaurant is spectacularly overpriced. Rochester has many restaurants that are excellent and that we prefer over Tournedos. If we return, it will be to the lounge only.
Absolutely love this place! Has it all... fabulous food, excellent service, and wonderful ambiance. Our choice for every special occasion!
We had an amazing experience. Went here for our 7th year anniversary. We arrived early for a pre-dinner cocktails. If you like bourbon, try the Kentucky Derby. Had great conversation with our bartender.
Proceeded to dinner. We had an excellent meal. We started with the WAGYU meatballs and the Tuna tartare. Both exceptional choices.
My husband had the Cajun salmon for dinner, perfectly seared nestled in a bed of light peach salsa. I enjoyed the WAGYU strip steak. Never having had WAGYU beef I didn’t know what to expect, but was pleasantly impressed with the flavor. Very robust piece of meat. You wouldn’t be disappointed. Not that much different than your traditional beef. It has more of a natural flavor. Hard to explain. Try it!
The ambiance at Tournedos has a mood settling feel. You’re surrounded by dark wood, beautiful interior architecture yet modern. Extremely quaint yet fancy. Definitely a hidden gem in Rochester. A great date night spot but equally a great place to take a business client if you’re trying to nail that big deal!
One of our party of six received the wrong steak. By the time the correct order came, everyone else was done- she ate her meal alone. We expected some sort of compensation- received none. It was a $700 dinner - all aspects of the meal should have been extraordinary. Disappointed.
This was our first visit to the restaurant. We sat in bar area and the bartender Jen was awesome. The drinks were were excellent - we ordered a couple off the specialty cocktail menu, then switched over to wine & manhattans (Jen tipped us off to a great local bourbon, Iron Smoke). The appetizers were yummy and the steaks cooked perfectly. The bananas foster was my wife's favorite, and the whole meal rivaled the quality of the best we've had in our home town of Boston. The dessert wine tasting flight (4 Inniskillins) was a great price and heavy pours, and made for a perfect ending to the meal. It was not too busy (Monday night) so Jen gave us a tour of the Inn and wine room before we left. We can't wait to come back on our next visit to Rochester.
Steak was perfect! My husband had his “Oscar style”. Waitress was very nice and accommodating. Left super full.
My husband and I enjoyed our Anniversary dinner at Tournedos. Overall, the experience was fantastic with perfect ambience, service and food. I ordered a petite cut Wagyu strip and my husband had the dry aged strip steak. His was extremely tender and I didn't feel that mine was as tender but it was still a wonderful meal for both of us. Next time, I would order the dry aged steak based on this experience. We started the meal by sharing the clams casino which were generous and very good. The sides we ordered were the asparagus and the pancetta home fried potatoes... both very good. The desserts were on the house as it was our 30th Anniversary. That was a nice surprise! My husband enjoyed the blueberry cheesecake and I had the crème brulee. Just the right touch and luscious! Kudos to Rachel!
I have dined at Tournedos several times over many years. This occasion was to celebrate my Significant Other's 70th Birthday. While I indicated this fact on my online reservation, the staff was unaware of the Birthday Celebration. Once I brought this to my server's attention, she was very accommodating.
My date ordered her usual Beef Tournedos and enjoyed them immensely.
I ordered the Prime Filet cooked to medium temperature.. Unfortunately after the second bite, it was apparent that the filet was cooked "rare". While I a have a general rule to never send back a steak for recooking; I could have tolerated "med-rare" but not "rare". Once I received my recooked steak it looked fine, however most of the flavor was lost. I did not want to escalate the issue since my date was enjoying her meal so much! This time I took one "for the team" but was very disappointed with my entry ( yes, I did instruct our server to make the Chef aware).
The steak is one of the best is Rochester and they have a great wine selection.
Birthday dinner for my significant other. Everything w
Tournedos is our go-to for high quality gourmet food in a refined atmosphere. The service and menu are consistently excellent. Dining is a cozy, comfortable affair in a quiet, if not intimate setting. The staff are unfailingly competent, knowledgeable and friendly. All of this excellence is reflected in their prices, but we've dined at plenty of other "high end" restaurants in the Rochester area that provided a much poorer experience.
Fantastic food and service. Best steak House in Rochester.
Had an excellent dinner. Great steaks - very tasty and tender. Terrific service in a lovely atmosphere. Very good for a special occasion.
I cannot recommend Tournedos Steakhouse more highly. My parents and I (who were staying in the equally lovely hotel attached, the Inn on Broadway) dined in the lounge after a long day of moving. We were greeted at the host stand very cordially by the warm front desk staff and shown to the lounge, the atmosphere of which was cozy and inviting. Our server/bartender, Jenn, was absolutely lovely and gave us quite possibly the best, most efficient service that I have ever had. She made wonderful cocktails (my father thoroughly enjoyed the "Mind Your Gimlet," a fun take on the classic cocktail).
Our food was equally as impressive- Jenn suggested a refreshing summer salad special of fresh burrata (fresher even than I've had in my travels in Italy), prosciutto and figs. I had the steak sandwich for dinner, a classic with high quality ingredients- these people know how to do meat! I also enjoyed a glass of the house Pinot Noir, the Eluon, which was far and away a better house wine than I've had in most other restaurants in my travels.
Jenn allowed us to feel at home and relax after a long day and we are so appreciative of that. I certainly will be coming back to Tournedos Steakhouse- it's world class dining right here in the heart of Rochester.
Everything was perfect. Service, location, ambiance, food, parking were all amazing.
I heard so much good about this restaurant only to be a little dissappointed. I couldn't even tell you what the rest of it looked like because I was sitting right at the door almost in hotel lobby. My wifes surf and turf was good but I ordered a smaller piece of a strip steak only to get a regular strip steak cut in half. I mean really come on. Price was rediculous also. A place with such a history could definately do a better job
Service was good, atmosphere is really nice Surprised that the steak was tough. For the price tag, this needs to be spot on and it wasn’t. I’ll still go back and try it again, but this experience was a bit disappointing.
Steak was over cooked and the waiter was very inattentive
A fantastic experience! My wife and I celebrated our 8th anniversary with a delicious steak dinner. Terrific portions and unbelievable flavor, with exquisite service.
Thank you for such a great evening.
We went for a special dinner for our 35th wedding anniversary, everything was perfect!!, Julie was server and was fabulous!!!
Love this place. Best steaks in town.
Food was delicious, my drink was made perfectly. The staff was very attentive and while we were not rushed they got us out in time for our jazz festival concert. It is a little pricey but worth every cent.
A little disappointed in service. Tried to pay bill without my guests knowing and waiter totally messed it up.
Just wonderful. Superb service on an exquisite meal. Seasonal ravioli was exceptional. Chilean sea bass pan seared to perfection. Steaks well grilled on surface and cooked to medium rare within. Molten lava cake just sweet enough.
Definitely will return.
Very good service. Handled a dairy allergy well. Good service. High prices, but we knew that. Beautiful location.
Can't wait to go back! The food was amazing and the service was the best I have ever had in a restaurant.
