The beignets are amazing!
Perfect dinner date and awesome brunch!
My bf and I love creole food so this place is THE spot! Never been to Seattle so we were going based on reviews and were only eating seafood. A lot of locals suggested this place as well which made it more exciting to go.
If we were to visit Seattle again, this place will definitely be at the top of our list. Eat ANY of their seafood dishes! Their cocktails are pretty delicious as well and the ambiance feels Seattle-ish.
My first time here! Dinner before the Ballet with a friend who was also celebrating her birthday. WE had a great server and the food was divine! I will be back!
Tried it during Restaurant Week. Staff was very friendly, professional, and attentive.
The service is too overwhelming. We just got our sits, we are celebrating my husband for his birthday with our 8,6 years old children. The waitress came 4x to ask if we are ready to order for drinks. We haven’t even seen the drinks list yet. The food came very fast it’s almost very stressful we ordered the 3 courses menu. The ambiance was nice but very noisy. The food is good though.
This was my first time at Toulouse Petit, and we all took advantage of the Seattle Restaurant Week menu. My wife and I are vegetarians, and although there are limited vegetarian selections, the restaurant did a wonderful job accommodating our culinary needs. We started with grilled asparagus, followed by ricotta gnocchi with butternut squash, hazelnuts, and hedgehog mushrooms. Both dishes were superb--flavorful, very well cooked and seasoned, and yummy. The desserts are definitely Southern style, the pecan pie being one of my wife's favorite desserts ever. I really enjoyed the beignets (and I am not a donut person). They were very light and not too sweet or oily. The service was excellent.
My wife said she was very disappointed, and I agree with her.
Actually, it was mainly her risotto, it was undercooked and the scallop were smelly.
My fish was fine, and my daughter loved her pasta.
I guess in the end, the dessert was a big problem. We all didn't like it. It tasted something like we can buy from a supermarket. Not fresh.
Lovely atmosphere and great food! Fast service and a nice bar list.
Great Happy Hour and for making me great mock-tails!!!
Wonderful candlelit atmosphere. Great service. Varied and interesting menu. Lots of wine and bubbly and beer choices. Pasta steak seafood. Cajun style (spicy) with french techniques. Loved the handmade gnocci with pork shoulder. Tender and delicious. Creole salmon was also wonderful. Awesome pecan pie. Excellent service. We will definitely go again :)
This could of been a great dining experience. Unfortunately the service was a let down. Waitress had no food recommendations and didn't check-in on us. In fact she said hardly anything to us at all except for a thank you when she had to drop off the bill.
I had a wonderful halibut dish that was perfectly spiced. My husband had a veal ragu which he certainly enjoyed. Pasta done perfectly
The food is delicious - tastes as authentic as Cajun / Creole food is supposed to be ! Heavenly desserts, lively atmosphere, and a good taste of what it must be like to eat in New Orleans !
Service was great and the food was amazing! Not a cheap dinner, but worth it. We will definately go back.
Toulouse Petit is astoundingly good! We haven't been in about 8 months and not only does just reading the menu make my mouth water the food did as well. If you were there on Saturday March 30th and you heard some moaning I'm positive it was either my wife or me enjoying our meal. I started with the crab and green fried tomatoes and she had the prosciutto wrapped asparagus. We swapped halfway through just to see what the other person was oohing and ahhhing about and discovered immediately why. She followed up with a rabbi pasta and I had the bbq shrimp and grits. Not sure that we needed the Bananas Foster dessert but we were feeling decadent and it didn't disappoint either. We will be back and we will explore additional parts of the menu! It was truly fabulous and if someone does better food in Seattle please tell me about it so that we can go there next.
My wife and I went here after work. I had the Big Easy Jambalaya and she had the pan seared chicken with hedgehog mushrooms. Both were excellent. The price is very good for the food you get.
Very nice restaurant. Great staff! Parking is limited. I wasn’t super impressed with my burger, but the fries were spicy and good. The others at my table really liked The Lucie and the jambalaya.
Great atmosphere and service, the gnocchi pasta had too much pork and not enough gnocchi.
Good food, great ambiance. Thorough wine selection. Timely service.
Fortunately the food was awesome because the service was so bad it was laughable. We decided to make it a fun time anyway since it was my husband's birthday but when the server is just downright rude to you it's amazing that a restaurant can stay in business. Food, on the other hand was fantastic, the prosciutto-wrapped asparagus was delicious and everyone's main course was great too. In the end they threw in our dessert free because I think the server realized how painful the night had been for us interacting with her. Hopefully this isn't the standard!
This restaurant applied a "living wage surcharge" despite not disclosing this fee on the menu or website, which is required by law. It is an absurd charge for an expensive restaurant. The cost of compensating employees should be included in the listed prices of every item on the menu. Not disclosing the charge is a form of false advertising. In addition, there are other regulatory costs besides a minimum wage that are included in the listed costs of items. For example, the restaurant doesn't charge a separate fee for sanitizing the restaurant.
This is a good restaurant, but insulting the customer with this hidden charge is a great recipe for the customer never wanting to come back.
I'd come back here for drinks at the bar, and I'd leave it at that. The food, while good, was not good enough to justify the prices. Worst of all was our waitress. She was inattentive, acted liked our orders were an imposition, took menus and glasses too early without checking whether we wanted more, and didn't understand typical social cues. Early on, she approached our table shortly after we received the menus and asked if we wanted anything to drink. I said that I needed a few more minutes because (a) we were waiting on one more person and (b) I'd not had a chance yet to look over the solid and lengthy wine list. She came back just after our friend arrived, but before she could've looked over the menu, and said, "Now that you've had some more time, what do you want to drink?" Although the words are neutral enough, her tone was unpleasant and put-upon. In addition, we were taking a friend out for her birthday, so I approached the waitress before we were done eating, gave her a credit card and asked her to hang on to it for the bill. Instead, she ran the card, brought the bill to the table, and gave it to our guest because I was in the bathroom. In short, this waitress took a middling restaurant experience and made it lousy. Unless we're looking to grab a drink at the bar, we will not be coming back. There are too many solid restaurants in the area to spend our money here.
Very good food. Service isn't great, but the amazing food totally makes up for that.
Anniversary had a nice ambiance.
Food was excellent. French onion soil was tasty but poor value. The Lucie, with shrimp seafood and grits was easily best Creole I have had outside of NOLA. Well done. Sazerac was a little off but drinkable. Cocktail list was broad as was wine list. Great room but quibbles aside, would go again. Great chocolate creme brûlée. Atmosphere was very good and conducive to catching up with friends.
I’ve dined here many times and the food and service is amazing! The music is ridiculous. It’s like they are playing club dance music while you want to relax and enjoy the company of your friends and this amazing food. Not sure what the management is thinking with regard to the music when they get everything else right. It was very annoying.
Excellent food! Service was a little off since we could not hear the waitress. She could not project her voice, and did not seem to try. Noise level was just too high for a dining experience. I hate loud music when I am investing in a dining experience. I guess some don't, so by all means go for it. I most likely will not come back since it was uncomfortably noisy for my husband and I.
Great authentic southern cuisine- everything has a spicy kick to it which I love. Fast service, good drink menu, centrally located downtown to walk to Key Arena or other activities. Perfect for date night.
I love the food and think it is a the closest to New Orleans one could find. Having grown up in a New Orleans kitchen I feel confident with my statement. There is so much more to fine dining in New Orleans than just Cajun or creole and I feel Toulouse encapsulates this quite well. Every time I read the menu I find am surprised by the subtle nuances that tie it to one of my favorite cuisines. This visit I was honestly not very impressed with our server. Possibly an off day?
Nothing out of this world
We were in town for the PAC 12 women’s basketball tournament and was looking for a place for a late night dinner. We found this restaurant and they served dinner until 10 PM. The food was delicious and the staff was friendly. Great find and it was in walking distance from Key Arena.
I was able to make a reservation for myself and my 4 friends very easily via Open Table less than a week in advance. I was excited to try this restaurant because I had heard good things about it from other people. Our waitress seemed quite irritated with our questions about the menu, and when our food came out, we were told our friends SALAD was going to take a bit longer to prepare because someone was TRAINING in the kitchen. Not a big deal (we thought) until it arrived and it had so much pepper on it, she couldn't even eat it. Luckily, I was able to share the rest of my entree with her & the salad was taken off our bill without much fuss, but then we decided to order dessert which seemed to take longer to arrive than our entrees. Our waitress passed by and seemed surprised we hadn't gotten it yet since she claimed she had seen it sitting in the kitchen. It then arrived half melted, making it difficult to eat. The ambience was great, but the service and the food wasn't what I had expected.
Part of my beau's drink was forgotten and was brought to the table separately. And his cheese selection order came with two dishes of raisins, not nuts.
Over all everything tasted good, but those two misses were noticeable.
good food good mood with great ambiance.
good for groups as well
Funky atmosphere and great selection of NOLA food choices. Hot spot so you’ll need a reservation. Even then we had a wait. Worth it!
Great food! Great service! Excellent selection of wine and spirits. Overall, just a great time.
Steak was not good. Mealie and little flavor. The tuna tar tar was light on tuna and too heavy on cheaper cut up vegetables. The rest of the plate was piled high with bread.
We've always loved Toulouse Petit for its Creole and Cajun stylings, its feeling of authenticity, and its down-home sense of fun. This latest visit was no exception. We tried two dishes we'd never had before--the Meatloaf and the Lucie--and both were wonderful. We also liked the high-quality list of bourbons to choose from. The service was professional but friendly and amiable as well. We always feel welcome here, and can tell that our comfort and satisfaction are paramount to the restaurant's ownership and staff.
Great ambiance. Bbq shrimp and Lucie delicious. Not a fan if corn grit base. The Beignets were rich, tasty, a little heavy on the sauce. Cocktails too sweet for out taste. Small plates interesting and creative
Fantastic atmosphere and amazing selection of food. We'll be back and will tell our friends!
