Toulouse Petit Kitchen & Lounge
Our expansive menus offer culinary diversity and range from traditional Creole and French Quarter menu choices to traditional Parisian and French countryside preparations to more innovative dishes that are entirely unique to Toulouse.
Server and other staff were very helpful and friendly. Food and service were both great!
It was pretty good. The food was great and the atmosphere was perfect. A little pricey for some things.
The food is outstanding but the service wasn't great. It was very slow, took a while to get drinks and they put in the wrong order which at least they comped for us. It is also quite loud.
My favorite restaurant in this area of town. Service is awesome and the atmosphere is cozy and comfortable. Food is always spot on. Would dine here more often, if I lived closer!
Food was great, as was the ambience. Service, not so much. 10 minutes to even get a glass of water. Once our food arrived, the staff seemed to lose interest in us. We had three empty water glasses on the table for ~20 minutes AFTER asking for more water; finally got up and got some ourselves. Worse, when we informed someone that the service was lacking, and we just wanted to get our check, we seemed to get a big freeze-out. The check came, the payment was picked up, the receipt returned without a single person meeting our glance or saying a word. It was bordering on outright rudeness.
I had high hopes for this restaurant but if failed me right away. The most notable was the service. It took 10 min before anyone even came over to give us water. Then another 10 min before they took are drink order. We were there 30 min before we even got to order.
So I ordered their fried chicken with tasso gravy. Yes I thought tasso was a spice or pepper. But no it was pork. The problem is i am allergic to pork. As soon as i seen my food i knew it was pork and i need a new order. My wife was about done before i even seen any waitress to let them know i couldnt eat my food. Once i finally was able to explain i was allergic they did quickly make me a new plate and they were real nice about it. The problem was when i got my bill they had charged me for both. Sure maybe it was a little my fault for not knowing what tasso meant. But i guess i could have eaten it and got sick in the restaurant. The place was way to noisy. And they played loud crappy music.
Once i got my food it was just OK. Not worth the 2 hours and money i paid for the meal. The best part was the deserts. Nothing to complain with that.
If you want to go for some crappy service and ok food. Then this might be for you. But i could think of at least 10 place within a 10 min drive that would be better for your money.
Very hit and miss. Our appetizers were amazing, entrees (Mussels, Filet, Jambalaya) and desert (Beignets, Pecan Pie) made us wish we would have stopped at appetizers. Not going to be a repeat for us. Service people are amazing, but they seemed to be so understaffed that it took forever to get anyone's attention. And we would have plates stacked at the table and no one would pick them up. Our server was doing her best to keep up, but, they need more waitstaff.
Be ready for a mixed bag if you choose to go here.
Service very attentive given number of folks in the restaurant. Food arrived quickly (too quickly?) and had a bit of that feel of having been over-pre-prepped, so wouldn’t place it in 5* territory. Extensive menu.
One of the best dining experience in Seattle.Higly recommended!
Good food, but definitely rushed by the server and kitchen. We were there about two minutes and the server asked us if we we were ready to order. We ordered drinks and got them in 3 minutes. Good! Crab and fried green tomatoes came within 5 minutes of the order. A little more crab please. As soon as that came the server asked again if we were ready to order.
We sent her away, and she interrupted our conversation less than 10 minutes later. We ordered and had our food really quickly. Really flavorful prawns and grits. Dessert and coffee stretched this out to 90 minutes.
Enjoyed our first dining experience two years ago. It was amazing. We looked forward to tonight’s dinner and it didn’t disappoint!
Mother’s Day Weekend
Our waitress was very attentive without being over bearing. The food was phenomenal. Some may say the portions are on the small side but it satisfied me fully. The dessert menu was fabulous. The drinks were delicious and strong! A bit bummed that the happy hour menu is restricted to the bar area. Overall very happy with my experience here and have already recommended it!
Flighty, poor service. Forgot beverage. Misheard an entree. Clams contained multiple unopened shells and one full of dirt that made the entire order gritty.
Always a treat. Service was excellent
This the first time here, heard about this place from friends.
The food was awesome had 4 different palates and was al good .
Will be coming back again.
Toulouse Petit has been a favorite -- reliably great food, good service from experienced and engaging staff, fun atmosphere. This visit was disappointing on the service front. Our server seemed very inexperienced and inattentive -- after our group arrived, she quickly returned and asked "are you ready?"... nothing like, "would you like to start with drinks?" or anything similar. Ready for what? All the food (soup, salad, entrees) were delivered at once -- no explanation or apology. Subsequent requests for drinks were forgotten, and eventually arrived late. Food was good as always, but we did not feel welcome.
Your wait service staff are excellent! We are a party of four seniors and with rather difficult eating issues. So we were quite a difficult set of customers to please and your waitstaff went out of the way with patience and a warm and caring attitude. This alone beats the heck out of great food. And so on top of that we ate great food! Thank you so much. So again just for the senior crowd and perhaps others who just have a more quiet interior for themselves the noise level is a bit much we were shouting at each other over the table but not everybody we realize has this issue. Thank you!
Food was generally good, very nice ingredients, but not mindblowing. Cocktails were unremarkable and inconsistent. Service was polite and reasonably quick but nothing special. I would try it one more time but I'm not in a rush to return.
Was my expecting the money to be so large and diverse. There are even dishes with an Asian flair which we find strange for a New Orleans restaurant but the food was delicious. We loved the Bibb salad with the mustard vinegrette but the sea salt on top was too salty. We loved the clams with the nuoc cham broth- the best, and the halibut was so fresh. Pretty disappointed with the one true new Ileana specialty we orders, the beignets. Tastes nothing like the real thing and did enjoy the sauce.
Great food and great serivce
Food was delicious, server was amazing. Overall, a wonderful visit.
Toulouse is always so delicious! Love their menu. Makes it really difficult to choose but this time we had the mussels in the most wonderful Dijon mustard sauce (fabulous) and the seafood gumbo, another standout.
Toulouse Petit is a regular stop when we visit Seattle. Fun atmosphere. Extensive menu. Good food. Finding street parking can be a challenge, so allow time.
A great place. Food is excellent quality and substitutions are accommodated without fuss. It can be a little noisy so not recommended if you want somewhere quiet
Hands down the best place we have eaten at in Seattle and we’ve tried some of the best.
This place was amaze! We had a large group and they handled it like a champ! Our server was so great...very helpful! The food was so tasty and one of the best Bloody Mary’s I’ve ever had!
I visited last weekend after booking a last minute reservation while visiting from Vancouver. Decor and ambiance is stunning. Like you're in other world. Loved that part. Food and service wasn't as great. Restaurant wasn't that busy but server came to our table breathless and hurried. After our food arrived, she didn't come back once to ask how we were doing. Another person came to deliver food and remove dishes. He was not friendly in the least and practically threw our food on the table. Two out of four dishes were good. I had buttermilk fried chicken. KFC is tastier. It had no flavor at all. Steak frites were also below average, tough steak , flavorless. Definitely not worth the $32 price tag! The shrimp linguine and risotto were very good. Very hit and miss!
Excellent distinctive food in a unique setting. Extensive menu and wine list. Looking forward to returning there again soon.
This restaurant offers similar menus for its regular service and happy hour. One thing I noticed was that it shares a very similar menu to the restaurant next door. In fact, I tested this by ordering the same item I had at Pesos (prawns and linguine). Honestly, the dish was the exact same. You can pretty much go to Toulouse Petit or Pesos and the only major change will be the ambiance. These two locations might actually be sharing the same kitchen. But hey, I'm not a local so maybe it's something I'm just not informed about.
A lovely time was had by all.
Outstanding dining experience, love the food here and the menu has a ton of options these days. One of our favorite places in Seattle for a date night
Our food was delicious. I'm glad we finally got a chance to visit this wonderful restaurant.
All four of us truly enjoyed our meals. It was our first time there. We will come back soon.
If you have lived in Seattle for more than a few years, coming back to Toulouse Petit every now and then is like visiting a dependable, good friend. The food is well-prepared, the menu should fit just about every taste and budget, and the atmosphere is fun and relaxed. It's almost better than it was, when it was a little more frenetic than it seems now, and thus a little noisier and hectic. Now it just has a comfortable, easy-to-be in charm. Really makes me want to come back more often than the once every so often schedule we have been on for the last few years.
One of the best dining experience I’ve had. From the sumptuous visuals, friendly and enjoyable staff to the amazing food all enjoyed in a 3 hour no rushed meal.
Great restaurant. Food was delicious! Pricing was good.
First time at this establishment, made reservations a week prior for a group of six. Excellent service. Ambiance is cozy/elegant. Servers entree suggestions were spot on, drinks were tasty. Definitly recommend to friends and plan to come again.
I am a frequent patron but this time the service left a lot to be desired. Also they did not shut the side entrance so people kept trying to enter and opening and shutting the door right right. Y our table.
I brought my Sis and Friend here for lunch on Friday. I have been before, a few times, and the food is always so good. They had the cauliflower soup with creme frieche, and sides, to die for! I had the crab and Peruvian prawn salad which is excellent. Love the ambiance.
One thing we noticed is the heavy dust on the blown glass lights and on top of the ventilation system in the ceiling. But the bathrooms are nice!f
