Toulouse Petit Kitchen & Lounge
Our expansive menus offer culinary diversity and range from traditional Creole and French Quarter menu choices to traditional Parisian and French countryside preparations to more innovative dishes that are entirely unique to Toulouse.
Great spot in Lower Queen Anne. Our server was exceptional and took the time to answer my questions, give recommendations, etc. She was also terrific at giving us the time we needed to chat, but kept the drinks flowing.
The food covers several categories, most of us stuck to pasta/seafood/French Quarter favorites and they were all quite good. Super fun evening, will dine with Toulouse again!
It's amazing how many items are on the menu yet every dish comes out as if just made that moment - I dont know how they do it!
We LOVE this place... food was amazing and service was great. Always a favorite! Even tho it’s loud we can always hear ourselves at the table, which is nice for us old timers.
Great food and ambiance
A friend and I enjoyed the gracious welcome and delightful ambiance of your restaurant. The Happy Hour began early enough for us to enjoy authentic Cajun cooking and good red wines before evening showing of the SIFF Italian Film Festival. This is a repeat visit and I will certainly be back with family and friends.
Had an amazing time!! Food was delicious and the staff was attentive and friendly.
Food was ok, some dishes good, others like cheese plate uninspired. Service may have had an off night, but it was out of step the whole time. A drink forgotten, no one checked after food was delivered, another drink sent back as it tasted off, no attempt to remedy. Not great given it was birthday dinner.
Lovely space, but food and service were subpar. I had a vegetarian gnocchi dish -- the mushrooms were tough and the gnocchi were oddly hard and dry. Our server was meh. Luckily I was with excellent company and, as I said, the ambiance was very romantic. I might or might not go back for dinner, more likely stop in for a glass of wine.
The ambiance is romantic and calming. My only issue was with the quality of the food. I ordered the shrimp linguini. There was zero flavor, even though I was expecting strong and spicy creole seasonings. Service was a bit slow, but that was expected for a busy Saturday night.
One amazing dish, one that was so so. Great service.
Restaurant week menu was top notch. Had the seafood gumbo, lamb, and bread pudding. All very flavorful. Love the ambiance (candles everywhere) but be aware it is pretty noisy.
My husband and I went to dinner at Tolouse Petit for our anniversary, and it was amazing!
It was our first time visiting and we were delighted with the food and the ambiance!
We shared the Jambalaya and the Fennel & Pork Gnocchi, both were insanely good!
Then we ended the night with the creme brulee trio which was to die for! If they served the hazelnut creme brulee in a tub I'd go for it.
Overall great place for dinner!
Food was honestly just ok. Salad was a odd mix of flavors that did not belong together. Gumbo was delicious. Lamb was very basic, fattier than usually and chimichurri had no flavor whatsoever. Restaurant is very loud, more like a sports bar. Service was also painfully slow. I ordered a glass of wine before my main dish, it did not arrive until I was almost done. Servers also do not clear plates or empty glasses they wait on slower bussers to do so. Plus there's a 5% service "wage" charge added to the bill which then states it's not for gratitude. Owners shouldn't be so cheap. Increase the cost of items instead of a surprise charge on bills.
Toulouse Petit is my favorite brunch spot in all of Seattle, but last night I got to try their hand at dinner and it did not disappoint. It has a calm and quiet sophistication about it, without being overly formal and it just feels like a bistro in New Orleans, but clean.
The Duck Muscovy and Pork Terrine was fantastic. I wish I could get a po boy with that meat on it at least once a week!
The Cheese plate was fantastic. The Stilton was a little more subtle than I expected, which was nice. It didn't overpower any of the other cheeses and paired well with the terrine!
We decided on the Spicy Shrimp, andouille sausage and Craw-fish over creamy grits... WOW! I haven't had flavor like this in food since I was in New Orleans last year. If I lived in Seattle, I would come back just for this dish all the time. Not kidding, it was a show-stopper. Hint* If you get this dish, please do yourself and get a great bold red wine to pair with this spicy dish. You are welcome!
Also, we got the Filet 'Oscar' mid-rare. I have had filet 'Oscar' a lot... It is my go to, if I am in a seafood town... and it is always delicious, but this preparation had more crab on it than you could possibly imagine!!!! The Steak was 8 ounces and there was at least that much crab on top. I was blown away. NEVER have I seen such a generous portion of crab on an Oscar. Ever! and for 55$, you literally will never get a deal like this in a fine dining establishment anywhere on the west coast!
Go here and enjoy. I will be back.
This is a classy restaurant! The food and drink menu is impressive with lots of choices for everyone. It was too dark and noisy for our group, however.
We were a party of 4 and we ordered appetizers, specialty cocktails, entrees and desserts. Everything was super delicious! Our meals came quickly and everything was hot. The seafood portions were very generous, fresh and flavorful. The seafood salad was the best I've ever had (more seafood than lettuce). Our server was friendly and very knowledgeable about everything on the menu. The restaurant was cozy, but bustling and filled to capacity. Can't wait to go back!
We loved the atmosphere and the food! The prices are fair for high quality food.
First time dining at Toulouse Petit this past Friday and had our best meal in Seattle, to date!! The menu was tastefully overwhelming with so many delicious options to choose from and we could barely contain our excitement as we discussed our choices for appetizers and mains. Everything was beyond delicious, capturing the flavors of Big Easy and rivaling the flavors I have experienced in the south.
The ambience makes for the hippest spot I have been to in Seattle with an understated elegance and chill vibe.
This is one of our Seattle favorites when going to the Seattle Rep theater. Tonight was awful, not the typical service we have received in years past nor expected. The desserts had to be packed to go, the check came late for a different table and then the new check didn't even had a receipt. We ended running to the show, just a minute before curtain time. Very disappointed and dissatisfied for a fun evening out sans children, real bummer. Would have rated the food higher if we could actually enjoyed our sweet treats. 😟
The blood orange and fennel mixed green salad was outstanding.
I prefer a quiet restaurant. This wasn't it, but the surroundings were lovely as my guest and I were shouting at each other.
Great ambiance, I took my now wife here for one of our first dates and recently again for our anniversary. Good wine selection too!
Servers were hard to get a hold of, especially since they forgot to bring us cutlery! Gumbo was a little watery although all the other dishes were A+.
Four of us went for restaurant week and there was a choice of four appetizers, five entrées, and four desserts. We wanted to try everything so we did except for the pork entrée. Everything was fabulous and everything seemed to go well together which was surprising. It was fantastic to have so many complementary and wonderful tastes. The best evening in a long time.
Toulouse is one of my favorite restaurants. When I have out of town visitors, I always try to take them here and they always love it.
Even with a reservation, we still had to wait a fair bit for our table. We also didn’t get seated in the dining area, but in the lounge by the bar. Food and service were great otherwise.
Believe the hype. Delicious breakfast stop.
Food came out in a timely manner. Tasted excellent. Price is on the higher side. Ambiance is nice, cozy feeling.
We were not seated until 35 minutes after our reservation time. This was the same time-frame they were giving to walk-ins of the same party size (2). Neither the hostess nor host that joined her appeared concerned about this. The server was satisfactory but twice left us while ordering to see to other tables. Food was very good. Given the large menu we, of course, speak only from our one experience. Based on the food, I would return and recommend. Based on the service, I would suggest making a reservation for earlier than you would like especially if you have after dinner plans.
Wonderful food and service. Beautiful atmosphere.
This is a beautiful restaurant..very french bistro...all the gorgeous tile and iron and the candles...beautiful. Had wonderful briney oysters and the crab salad. Then had the pasta with mushrooms and corn and proscuitto...excellent meal overall..Great service as well.
Toulouse Petit Kitchen & Lounge is my favorite restaurant. I don't live in Seattle so when I am in town I always have a meal there. It's by far the best food, service, ambiance that I've ever experienced. I only wish there was one where I live as it's a 2½ hour drive for me to go there.
Beautiful atmosphere! Rib-eye steak with smoky demi is to die for!
We have been to Toulouse Petit many times and enjoy the food and the service; and we will continue to return. The 4-star rating for food is because the gnocchi was overdone. I have had this menu item before and it was done perfectly so this was just a fluke. The flavors of all the dishes were very good and the other meals were done just right. Service was excellent. Our waitperson offered to return my meal and get me a new serving and the gnocchi was OK, just not great, so I chose to keep it. I just wanted to let the kitchen know so that they could keep an eye on the prep process for the next person.
First, when I have a reservation, I expect to be seated more or less immediately. We waited for ten minutes. Service was very indifferent— we were hassled several times for our order and she was shouty. The noise level was intolerable. The main courses were a mess; I had halibut with crab and it was a pile. There are many good restaurants in Seattle.
The help dresses inappropriately. I'd like to think it's a nice restaurant but they hire people who don't know how to dress. What would you think if I invited you to my house for dinner with my butt cheeks hanging out? Noise level is extreme.
Amazing meal, wonderful service!!! Definitely a must return place
Great food and atmosphere. Easy to make an appointment, and they accommodated us arriving 30 minutes early, and they were able to seat us immediately. Will highly recommend to friends in the future.
