Toulouse - Houston
In the tradition of all fine bistros, Toulouse has imaginative and seasonal menus that provide exactly what its patrons long for: cozy tables open to the street, mouth-watering specialties a la Française, delicious desserts made from scratch and an extensive wine list. Enjoy the tastes of France with our exciting yet comforting dishes such as our famous quiches, an expertly cooked trout almondine or the best mussels in the city.
Dine with us and be transported to Paris, if only for a moment.
I was there for my birthday. We only had today to celebrate before the actual date because we both typically work weekends. Very beautiful space. I came here once for restaurant week and remembered it being beautiful and wanted to eat somewhere aesthetic for my birthday. Had the petite seafood platter. Mind you we had afternoon tea at Hotel Granduca beforehand. It was enough. We were already full from tea, which had ended 2hr+ earlier. Also there is chartreuse! A table for two is small if you order a lot of food. Keep in mind table realty. The octopus and foie gras terrine is wonderful.
It is always good and delightful
The food was very good, the staff attentive, not much for vegans but delicious otherwise.
This restaurant delivers consistent high quality service and food, and the setting is always epic to enjoy Houston's wonderful springtime weather. The staff is always attentive and accommodating
Not up to their usual standard and forgot to bring the frites for the steak tartare
The food was delicious but the service was extremely slow. The server was nice but she would drop off the food and run away, never asked if we needed a drink refilled or anything. She also brought the check out when we hadn't asked for it. My sister was actually getting ready to order another flatbread. We paid and had desserts elsewhere. Great food, but they looked very short staffed.
Toulouse is such a fun restaurant. The ambiance and service were outstanding, but the food was so-so except for the bread and wine.. Perhaps if you order French food it would be better!
Always a great time!
It was the third year anniversary of Toulouse. There was a very festive atmosphere with live music, etc.
The menu has some newer additions & everything was delicious. Great service & ambience.
Always terrific. It was unusually loud and crowded Saturday night but it was their 3rd anniversary. Great patio dining and the food was perfectly prepared.
A little bit of Paris in Houston! I cannot wait to come back.
We sat outside and it was nice and soft music playing. The food was great and so was the service.
Will go back again
Toulouse is consistently a great choice for meeting up with friends - the food is very good, the service is terrific and noise level, especially inside, is always low enough for conversation.
It was hot and humid inside the restaurant—more so than it felt outside. We moved tables twice and finally felt cooler and more comfortable in the bar. Management was unsympathetic to our discomfort. Food was great.
Great server, Jana. Ask for her, she’s good.
We are Loving this place!! Great service and staff. Fab food. Love the Tuesday French wine special.
Great ambience. Excellent service. Good food
We love coming to Toulouse. Have been coming here since it opened. We always appreciate that they can accommodate our small child who is very well behaved.
First and last time eating here! Food was definitely not worth the cost and just didn’t taste good. Appetizers over cooked and the main course was laughable, it had zero flavor and really looked like a it came out of a can. We would have sent it back but the server didn’t make it back to our table for 20 min. Feel bad for my wife who took me for my Birthday diner. At least they gave us a free dessert (didn’t taste like anything no flavor)
Good but too expensive
Beautiful outdoor area. Got a little breezy so we headed indoors. Very accommodating
Everything was perfect...salad, tomato bisque and scallops superb. Overall it’s a good restaurant but a bit pricey
The food, service and ambiance was great!
We have been to Toulouse many times, and usually the service, food and ambiance are good. We invited friends to try it this past Sunday, and the service was appalling, the food was wrong, cold and VERY slow, and the lack of umbrellas up meant that everything on our table was covered in oak pollen.
We sat outside so really the noise level was not a factor as it can be noisy inside.
Great band playing. Good food and half price Rose
Most of the time the food and service here is very good, yet on a Thursday Friday or Saturday night it can get quite loud. If you want a quieter restaurant on those days go somewhere else
Great evening shared with old friends. Felt we really were in a brassiere in France!
We had not been to Toulouse for some time. We were a little tired of the menu & felt the food was not as good as in the beginning.
On Friday we went again & had a wonderful experience.
There were new items on the menu & the food was delicious. All three in our party were impressed.
The service was faultless. The manager sent a grand marnier soufflé to our table! Everything was fabulous.
Absolutely the worst dining experience I have had in Houston. There was zero skill in the preparation of all dishes. I was trying really hard to find just one redeeming quality in the food and there was none!!! No flavor, no taste and mediocre ingredients.
It most definitely was not French. It was the output of a terribly unskilled team in the kitchen.
In my opinion Cafe Touluse is an elaborate ruse and I think they are on their last legs. I would not surprised if this restaurant shuts down in the next month or two.
Fabulous!!! The service was impeccable and the food was delicious! It was a beautiful evening so we sat outside where we enjoyed live entertainment. Everything was perfect! Great evening!!!
The staff at Toulouse has always taken great care of my family. It's my grandfather's favorite restaurant in Houston, they always accommodate his unique requests. Though pricey, the food is excellent. Mondays and Tuesdays are half off French wines, and they are very good. If you're looking for a good French restaurant, Toulouse is the best. I highly recommend the French Onion Soup or the Toulouse Burger.
Great service food and smbiance
Todo muy bien
Love coming here for lunch, everything I’ve tried has been delicious!
Great food, outstanding service, what more could you want?
A pleasant place to enjoy French food. Martini was outstanding despite being a simple drink.
Reserved a table for two with instructions to seat away from traffic, that was over looked. The waitress was preoccupied (maybe an off day??), but did not reflect what the reviews stated. The food was an experience, but not out of this world. We chose indoor dining for our meal and the music made the table conversation a challenge. Over all the total experience was a personal disappointment.
Always a great night out! Service was a tiny bit slow, but they were very busy and we were not in a rush so it wasn't a big issue.
I ordered beef fillet cooked medium extremely tough, could not cut into the beef in addition taste was very bland. Lucky I ordered pepper sauce. Would suggest you delete french fries from the menu as these were overcooked. Knife should be a serated steak knife.
My wife had salad that did not taste fresh.
You have invested in a very nice decor pity you have not the done the same with the kitchen staff
It was my husbands birthday
Better then flying to Paris ! Especially the soufflé !!
