Service and food were great!
I’m torn... i want to give this place 4/5 stars for atmosphere and service but the quality of the food holds me back. Here’s why:
Almost 2 weeks ago my wife and I visited on a busy Friday evening. We ordered some drinks, she had the burger, I ordered the filet au poivre. I ordered it medium rare. The steak came out fully rare. Mind you, it’s about 1.5 inches thick so I believe it is not that hard to keep the cuisson under control. After showing the manager, I sent it back. When it returned 2 min later, it came back raw still. I asked again and was finally given a ‘medium rare’ steak. We were comped the steak and I didn’t think more of it.
Fast forward a week and we invited a few friends for an evening and went back to Toulouse to give their steak a second chance. Long story short, I know order it medium, expecting to receive a medium rare. Low and behold it did come out medium rare, proving that they just cannot keep their cuisson under control. Didn’t complain this time as I kind of predicted it and proactively ordered. On top of that, 80% of my friends mussels were closed, which could indicate non-fresh mussels (she didn’t take any risks).
As I said, I’m torn. Next time, if there is one, I’ll go for something else.
Love this place...service was outstanding, they had a Belle Glos Pinot Noir on their wines list and the food was wonderful...my favorites here are the french bread and escargot
Everything we ordered was amazing! Highly recommend the salmon with Brussels sprouts but you really can't go wrong.
Great night . Mussels are always fabulous
Service great . Love sitting on patio
I’ve had the same waiter the past couple times. Older gentleman with a mustache and spanish accent. Front part of the restaurant. The food is so good, everything is great. He just keeps making me feel dismissed and looks bothered when I asked questions. I just need to ask for a different waiter.
Simply great in every aspect.
Mousses and frites never disappoints!
Great ambience for Valentine’s celebration.
Our all time favorite restaurant in Dallas. Wait staff is incredibly nice and seem genuinely pleased that you are dining with them. Everyone from Giuliano, to Matt to Memo go out of their way to make certain that your dining experience is 5 star-without hovering over you. Food is first class. My wife and I love the moules and frites as it reminds of our time spent overseas. For Valentines we opted for the duck and were not disappointed. It was cooked to perfection. They also have a very nice, albeit limited, wine selection. The dry martini at the next table looked great and that patron confirmed that it was done perfectly to his request.
Parking can be tricky, but there is a valet service right across the street.
Would not recommend this place as we don't want word to get out that Toulouse is a great dining experience in every sense of the word.
Perhaps the best bouillabaisse I’ve had. Very good wine list. Excellent service. Only negative was their dog policy. After we ordered, a young woman came in with a large, poorly-trained dog and was seated two tables away. Welcoming dogs is surely a positive feature for some folks. Just not for me.
This is my favorite restaurant in Dallas. Lively , yet intimate conversation is easy . The decor is fresh and Old World at the same time it is as if you have suddenly been transported to a cafe in Paris. The staff goes above and beyond the usual service. The food is incredible . The presentation is as pretty as the food tastes. We always have a wonderful experience at Toulouse.
Wonderful food and service. Will definitely be coming back!
Fantastic spot! Great food and service. We are coming back....
Ordered a medium rare steak. Came our less than rare. After putting it back on, it still came out rare. Waiter/manager was very kind though
Food absolutely overpricing!!! I go to this place for 10 years and now the quality is big 0 !!!! Never again!!!
The food was phenomenal and the service was above and beyond.
Amazing food, atmosphere, and service.
The food was exceptional, service was fantastic- will definitely enjoy another meal at this warm and gentle place.
We were in Dallas for the Celine Dion concert. We both love French cuisine & Toulouse did not disappoint. I had the Duck Two Ways and my husband had the Filet au Provire - both were cooked perfect and so delicious. Finished off with my husband getting the Chocolate Mousse & I had the Apple Tart Tartine. Both also excellent. We are coming back in 3 weeks for the Dallas Stars vs St. Louis Blues hockey game and plan to go back to Toulouse and take our son who loves mussels (he should be so happy)!!!
Good food, but the restaurant has decided to pack as many people as humanly possible into a tight space. Noisy, crowded, hard to maneuver. Service was very good. Value so-so.
Always a great experience
Food was very good. Service was a little rushed with entrees served too soon. Room was crowded and noisy. Popular for family and friends gatherings.
I love the feel of the restaurant and food is excellent. However, the chairs are not the most comfortable chairs that I have ever enjoyed.
The food was excellent! I will return with more friends very soon.
Hands down one of the best restaurants in Dallas. Lisa our server was so fantastic!
Fantastic service wonderful food. A bit too noisy inside.
Excellent service and food. The waiters and manager are superb. Fun to sit on the outside porch too!!
This place is the best. Whatever you want in fine dining you have it here. Juliano is wonderful. Eduardo and Leah are great wait staff. Everyone is so friendly and accommodating. The valet employees are jewels in a hard to find a parking place environment.
Everything was excellent, as usual.
We enjoyed a pre-theater dinner and the staff was ready for our need for an expedient dinner without creating too much of a hurried atmosphere. The food was terrific.
Toulouse! Nothing more to say. This Dallas mainstay is a favorite on Knox St. next to Katy Trail.
Always a hot-spot for lunch, dinner, brunch, or drinks - the patio is the place to sit if there is a table open.
Speaking of the patio, on beautiful spring and fall days, they open the roof and you can dine al fresco.
The food, the staff, and the location are all 5 Star.
If you haven’t been, go! If you haven’t been in a while,go back!
Great first time experience!
Toulouse has wonderful food, ambiance and service. It reminds me of my New York days. Great bar with congenial bar tenders as well.
Always one of our favorite restaurants when we are in Dallas. Everything from the ambience, service, and food is top notch. We arrived early, and were seated promptly. We had an early reservation and planed to have a drink at the bar before eating. Decided to pick our choice of a table, as the room was filling up fast. My wife had the bib salad, with the trout as her entrée. I always have the escargot, followed by the peppercorn filet medallions. Everything was delicious! We finished with the chocolate soufflé, which was also wonderful.
We've eaten dinner here several times now and it never disappoints! Wonderful food, cocktails, and service.
The food was absolutely Wonderful and let me know how much I missed Being able to order escargot. The staff was very knowledgeable and very polite
This is my wife's favorite place so I made reservations for her birthday. The staff, especially our waitress Zeinab made it a special night.
This location was just as enjoyable as their Houston location.
Great service, we were greeted as we came in. Seated and beverages offered immediately, wonderful. Checked on frequently enough to be considerate. We always love the food. My duck breast was pretty over cooked this time (but usually perfect). The chef was even were gracious enough to let me change my accompaniment which is very nice. Overall great experience.
Firstly, my friends and I are huge fans of the Lombardi Family dining! Taverna is our staple brunch spot on Sundays and we’ve never been disappointed. The dinner menu is equally luxurious and appropriately priced. Easily our favorite restaurant in the metroplex. The manager literally knows us by name lol
Toulouse is yet another hit! We’ve been for brunch a few years back, but I decided to try dinner with my family. They loved it! Authentic French cuisine, we ordered the escargot to start and it comes deshelled and ready to eat. Super tender and great flavor. For entrees I got the bouillabaisse (catch of the day was salmon), parents had the trout almondine and short rib bourguignon, and sibling enjoyed the filet au poivre. Everything was so delicious! No complaints. Everything tasted fresh and portioned appropriately. My seafood was tender and Toulouse didn’t spare any seafood - great amounts of mussels, clams, shrimp and scallops!
For desert we enjoyed the soufflé, lavender creme brûlée and apple tart. I don’t really have a sweet tooth, but again everything was a hit! The soufflé was decadent and moist and the touch of lavender in the brûlée was refreshing.
All in all the service was excellent, the atmosphere charming and the food delicious. If you’ve never experienced the Lombardi Family restaurants, Toulouse is a great start!
