The service was bad ! We were treated badly . Our waiter was the worst I’ve ever had . Will never return or recommend this place to any of my friends or family . I will encourage them not to .
Amazing food, amazing customer service
The ambiance and buzz in the restaurant is inviting and welcoming. Everywhere you look, people are smiling, enjoying their dining experience and their meals. The service staff is very friendly, accommodating and were helpful and prompt in resolving an order issue. My family and I went to celebrate a birthday and graduation and loved it. We will definitely be back and I would highly recommend this restaurant for just a casual dinner, romantic date night or for a small event gathering- you will not regret it.
Good. Not amazing. Needs a better wine program. By the glass wines are weak. Need better and more options. Never received bottle menu. Menu had an asterisk by certain items, but no mention of what the asterisk was for. Confusing.
Extremely bad service, we were sat 30 minutes after the reservation, food arrived at different times (20 minutes apart).
Excellent food and service as always. Courteous servers, great ambiance.
I hadn't been to back Toscanova for at least 5 years. Now I'm kicking myself for losing track of this gem. If you like upscale Italian, you owe it to yourself to give it a try.
Lovely setting, attentive service, delicious food; what more can one ask for!
Great location and excellent service an food. Very relaxing eating outside and Covid compliance was maintained. Nice selection of Italian dishes and was overall an great experience.
Great food and service friendly environment have been a customer over 10 years great 🍷 selection Luka is the best manager
The soup was excellent and the truffle pasta was outstanding. The salad - not so much. The service was excellent - Stephanie who was a delight. Didn't care for the music, and the cheesecake was subpar. Overall we would go back and would recommend.
I had the best calamari salad. It’s light and delicious 😋
Service was poor. Asked for salt/pepper and red pepper flakes twice. Asked for bread one time which never arrived. Never refilled water glasses. Need more staff for busy night.
Great to see things opening up. Their outside expansion makes the place even better. All was good. Prices have gone up alot though.
excellent service; great atmosphere. broad menu. very pricey
I’ve always enjoyed the casual ambiance and great food at Toscanova.
Wonderful Food! Best Waiter..... Nino. Table outside near Fire it. Lovely!
One if the best dining experiences! I highly recommend Toscanova
It was fine. Quiet atmosphere, great waiter.
We eat here frequently. The food is always good and the staff helpful and friendly. Reliable for a good experience.
Booked a reservation to celebrate a birthday. Who pays $50 for an entree at a restaurant whose wine list that offered “red or white”, a total joke
We had a great time. Our waiter was absolutely amazing and I am great full for his suggestions. Flood was amazing
Ambience and service was good but food and presentation of food wasn’t good or upto the standard of what they charge
Well, unfortunately despite the service being good, the food was truly mediocre for the high prices. A $34 plate of spagetti with shrimp, should not leave the diner literally picking shell out of your mouth constantly, leaving a ring of shrimp shell bits all around the plate. When it's nearly $200 out the door and you've had mediocre bread, mediocre appetizer, and a pasta "specialty" that literally had at least a dozen shell pieces in it, and a pretty flavorless dessert? That's a serious drag, no matter how good the service.
Pricy but good
Portions were large enough to share
Calamari was excellent
This was a 90th birthday celebration for my mother and I could not have had a nicer experience. The servers were wonderful, warm and helpful. Our table was just beautiful and we had a perfect celebration. Thank you Toscanova Calabasas!
Authentically Italian cuisine, fresh and delicious.
We waited an hour for our table despite our booking and prompt arrival so it was late by the time we actually got to eat.
Aside from that, great night
I want to start by saying I would NOT recommend dining at Toscanova to anyone right now. The food is as excellent as ever, so take-out would still be a solid option. This is because we had the most horrendous service I have experienced in a fine dining restaurant ever. It started with the server who was carrying a tray of water glasses asking if we wanted regular water or bottled, and when we replied regular, he walked away with the tray instead of serving us. We ended up asking for water 2 more times. We also ordered wine, which took 15-30 minutes to get each bottle.
When we asked our waiter about items on the menu, he was unable to answer and was obviously unfamiliar with it. He did manage to upsell the steak, one of the most expensive menu items, though since it's an Italian restaurant, there are many specialty items most likely deserving recommendation. We had to ask for pepper for our salads, and by the time someone brought it out, most of our table was done with their salads. When they brought the entree, I was still eating my salad, which I ended up having to hold above my entree to finish. We had to ask the server to clear our extra plates from the appetizers to make room for another course. After the entree, the waiter didn't check in or ask if we wanted dessert. After over 30 minutes, I had to get up and ask to pay our bill so that we could leave. I did speak with the manager at that point, who was very apologetic and made an "adjustment" to our bill. While I was speaking with her, another diner walked up to her and demanded his table's bill as well. Much to my amusement, the hostess gave me the bill, and I returned to our table to get my credit card. At that point the waiter brought a neighboring table their bill, took one look at me, holding our bill and credit card, and walked away. I then had to go back to the hostess stand and spend another 10 minutes waiting to pay my bill. To sum up: food = 5 stars; service = no stars
Maya made this experience so wonderful and pleasant for both my boyfriend and I. I will definitely request and also recommend her services there at Tascanova. The food was by far the best Italian food I’ve ever had. We will gladly return with friends & family
The worst service!!!
We were not impressed. While the location and ambience are great, the service was subpar. The bread arrived after the appetizer, and the wine was forgotten. When the wine did arrive, it was pretty warm for a red. We were never asked how we were doing and had to flag someone down for the check. My fish was fishy and really had not much other flavor. The lamb ragu was tasty, but it did not even fill up my 13 year old, who is a light eater. The risotto was al dente, and the chicken milanese was too thin, overcooked and not seasoned at all. We went through all the salt and pepper packets they brought us just to make it edible. The burrata/eggplant appetizer was tasty, but small for $20. This was our entire meal and it cost $200. We will not be returning.
Lovely dinner, beautiful ambiance and excellent food. Loved the salmon and the parpadelle , Cesar salad yum too. Great wine selection. Just good stuff
Good as usual.
Birthday for a friend
Great Mother’s Day experience!!
We went for Mother’s Day, the service and food were excellent definitely will return.
Very disappointed with the service. No waiter came to our table until 45 minutes after seated. We asked multiple times for a waiter to the hostess and bus boy. Food was very good but small portions for the expensive prices. My lasagna was hard as a rock on the bottom and had to send it back. I do not mind paying expensive prices for dinner but when I do, I expect great service. Had to constantly ask for refills throughout the meal. Not sure if I will go back even though the food was good because of the service.
This was an amazing place to bring Mom for an early Mother’s Day dinner! We loved it & will definitely be coming back!
Mother’s Day! Great table !
