   Exceptional food … impeccable service. This is the best Italian in Scottsdale. Our party had a wide range of dishes , pasta and other and all were spot on. The server provided menu guidance and was attentive. Great ambiance and outdoor views of the McDowells on the patio and the bar high tops. Old school vibe in a trendy environment. The owner, Angelo, is charming, considerate, and hands on.

   Toscana restaurant provides excellent menu selection; our meals and drinks were delicious; and the dessert selection was wonderful! Owner Angelo is gracious, friendly and professional; and our waitress was wonderful too! We will definitely return for more meals at this great Italian restaurant.

   Julie provided outstanding service. The food was awesome. Each entree includes an app and our group tried them all. Bread was the owner’s mom’s recipe and was very good. Great wine selection. We’ll be back regularly!

   The melted burrata was outstanding. A must! Gnocchi melted in your mouth. Bolognese was excellent. Service outstanding. Angelo, the owner was a great host. Definitely recommend.

   First time diners to Toscano's. Definitely going back for their cozy bar booths for 2! Any seat in the house is a winner! Service is attentive but not detracting. The waitstaff CARES about your experience. All food is cooked "fresh to your order". Wine list is simple and ample, bar drinks are crisp and creatively mixed. First courses are on the house with each dinner order placed. Amazing!

    So we definitely went too early in the day (5:30 pm) and in the week (Monday) to feel the ambiance we hear from others was better...so that was our bad, however the service was lackluster. Our server seemed like the wrong person for the job. Perhaps he was nervous or new or didn't like what he was being asked to do...they need someone with a more outgoing, warmer personality. So as to the menu and pricing. Personally I understand what they are doing with regards to the margins, trying to avoid having people come there for only appetizers or "Happy Time" etc. however they have lost the opportunity to defray overhead costs by having separate pricing for appetizers, salads etc. and selling more items at different hours from different demographics. So take that for what it implies. The octopus app was very tasty, par-boiled then fried fingerlings were just barely crispy enough and needed salt, everything else on the plate was very tasty. The pasta bolognese was too bland because they added cream to it. It had nice chunks and shredded meats however we had to lots of salt and pepper (which would barely come out of the shakers because the holes are way too small!) Not sure we will return unless they change the menu structure or someone else we know goes and tells us that the other menu items are unbelievably good or that the interesting sounding "porchetta pork chop" is fantastic. We cook all belly porchetta at home very well and so it is hard for us to order that anywhere! We wish them well. It has nice ambiance in terms of lighting and table set up.

    Hi, Betty. Fyi, you can always order plates ala carte from our "Something from Chef" category for $16 per plate. Our apologies if our server did not mention this to you. Salt content in a dish is always a tricky thing as it is quite subjective. When in doubt, I've trained my staff to err on the side of less rather than more. As for the cream, it's not cream. It's bechamel sauce; a very traditional technique to finish Bolognese. I'm confident that if you try us one more time, that we will prove why many others have given us 5 Star rating.
