Food was delicious and expresso martini was yummy! Small place but I would definitely go again!
The food was delicious and our server Courtney was amazing !
Can’t wait to go back ..
Adorable little place, great service and fantastic food at great prices. Full bar too!
Very good, made a delicious expresso martini!
Small, friendly neighborhood place. Tried the swordfish and the chicken verdicchio - both delicious. The waitress/bartender was very knowledgeable, chatty but not at all overbearing. Just delightful. Not fancy, but a warm casual vibe. Will definitely be back
Food was very good. Courtney did a great job explaining the menu and making food recommendations. She also did a great job keeping our wine glasses full. Food was fresh and cooked to order. Nice dining experience.
The server Courtney was warm welcoming very knowledgeable and extremely attentive. Food was very good. We will be back!
One of the best meals and service I have ever had. This will quickly become a new favorite spot.
Excellent Food! Excellent Service! We loved the Live Music. The server was knowledgeable, and very personable. We will be back for sure.
Another enjoyable visit! Food, service, and atmosphere was great. Music was very pleasant. Thanks for the Christmas tunes.
Atmosphere is relaxing. Need to bring back the Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin music. Our server, Courtney, was excellent. She was friendly, helpful, and attentive. Veal Marsala was very good. Will be back soon.
food was great and service was excellent
This was our first time out to eat inside since February. It was a Monday. We had the restaurant to ourselves. Such a sad time for the restaurant business, but our waitress was warm and welcoming and the chef made our anniversary dinner very, very special. Great food. Great people!
-The wait for food was extremely long.
-The food was unimpressively bland.
-The spaghetti tasted like Comet cleanser residual.
-The piano player was singing, not wearing a mask and not behind a plexi glass screen. He was pitchy and not talented, took away from the ambiance, and made us very uncomfortable knowing that singing is one of the most potent spreaders of airborne covid droplets.
-The only redeeming feature was our friendly and competent server. She was hospitable and cheerful throughout.
We will never return. This was the first open table experience that was sub par.
We ate there with friends for our Anniversary. The piano player was wonderful and playing at just the right level to allow for listening as well as having a conversation at the table. Our waitress was very attentive and helpful with the menu and made excellent cocktails. The food was homemade and excellent, so much so that we asked the waitress if she would come out of the kitchen so we could compliment her on her cooking. She did come out and we had a great conversation and many laughs. We will definitely go back when we are back in Plymouth!
We read great reviews so wanted to try Toscana while we are staying in downtown Plymouth this week. We arrived in a quiet night and in fact the entire downtown is quiet this week. We were seated promptly and drinks arrived along with crispy rolls and EVOO with garlic and spices, an excellent start. Speaking of starters, we ordered eggplant which was delicious. Next we ordered Chicken Marsala and homemade Lobster Ravioli in Vodka sauce. Both were fantastic, flavorful and carefully prepared.
Our server was excellent, very personable and attentive. We highly recommend that if you want great Italian food in a neighborhood place at reasonable prices that you go try Toscana Ristorante! We loved it.
When we walked in the front door we were in the middle of the dining room. The place was full and it wasn’t clear where to find the hostess to be seated. We stood at the bar and waited for someone to acknowledge us. After several minutes, one of the 2 servers finally stopped and asked if we had reservations. Mind you this was after some awkward avoidance of eye contact while they hustled past us several times, leaving us in a state of total confusion as to where to wait. Service was extremely slow. We waited about 30 mins for our antipasto appetizer which was good when it finally arrived followed with an additional 30 min wait for our entree. The decor was unattractive and it was severely understaffed. The food was ok.
Always great food and great service. Our favorite restaurant in Plymouth
This was our first time at Toscana and we loved it. Although it doesn't look like much from the outside, inside, the restaurant is quaint and small but offers wonderful meals and keeps up with the crowds. Our server, Courtney, was lovely and engaging. We chose chicken scampi and swordfish for our entrees which were absolutely delicious. We look forward to returning soon!
Great leisurely dining experience. Seemed like the restaurant was transplanted from Boston’s North End, minus the high prices. The wine and drink selection was extensive and the main entree and desert were delicious. My only recommendation would more Gluten Free desert options. The most unique part of the evening was Ja Ja’s Piano Bar. The “Name that Tune” part from tv & movies was a bit challenging, but quite fun. I’ll be back again and often.
Wonderful little gem on the outskirts of downtown Plymouth.
Courtney was delightful, very easy to talk to, quick efficient and was working be herself!! The keyboard player was an added bonus, nice touch for the evening.
Food... well we have since been there 4 times never ordering the same entrees and have not been disappointed! Good flavorful, hot, well presented and good portions! And the dessert: chocolate lava cake is so smooth it’s like pudding!
Well worth the extra steps or drive avoid all the wait lines and relax in the great hidden secret!
The staff at Toscana made myself and party feel
Like home. Crafty beverages, attentive service and delicious food all around. This restaurant is a hidden gem.
There was 10 of us and we were the only people there. It took 45 minutes to get a drink and an hour to get food. 2 of the 10 people never got their meals. Appetizers came out after the meals. There was only one woman working in the whole place plus the cook. We honestly felt like we were bring punked and the camera crew was going to come out at any moment. So much more to tell but I don’t have time to write a book lol.
This restaurant was suggested to us as out of town visitors
The ambiance was great and the food value for money was high
We were visiting the area to go to a wedding.
We would come back to this restaurant just for the food.
Marta ad Mary Beth made a great team.
Service was not very good Friday night one person in building got wrong bottle of wine was asked if I want to open it was asked 3 times what kind of wine I wanted food was not very good was quiet but one my 2 tables full
Excellent service and food at this quiet neighborhood gem.
Amazing food, great service, romantic environment. The food was impeccable and the dessert to die for. I highly recommend the cannolis, they certainly gives Mikes in Boston’s north end a run for their money. We will definitely be back.
5 huge stars.. bravo!
Hands down the worst dining experience I've ever had. Our waiter was new, unfamiliar with the menu, delivered wrong dishes, and we didn't receive one dish and one drink (but were still charged for both). He did not apologize - instead, he blamed the computer system, the kitchen, etc. The food that was received was very good, but not good enough to make up for the horrible service.
Friendly and timely wait staff. Food was very tasty and well presented.
We will be dining there again soon.
We love coming to Toscana. The food is always fabulous as are the owner & her staff!
Toscana is truly a hidden gem just south of downtown Plymouth. The fact that it's on a quiet block by its own, away from the other restaurants and bars, and has no parking lot, may be why it's off the radar for so many. Go find it! We've been several times and had excellent meals and incredible, personalized service -- when we arrived for a 645PM reservation last Saturday, we were the only people in the place! The owner/host/chef/bartender is friendly, attentive, and makes amazing authentic Italian food. I will make a point of returning more often, especially in the summer when the rest of Main Street and the Plymouth Waterfront is overcrowded -- I'd prefer a great meal in a quiet restaurant rather than waiting an hour for a table.
By far one of the best Italian restaurants I have ever been to... I spent two months in Italy and Toscana's brought me back all over again. The food is so delicious and authentic. I have to travel to get there but it is so worth the trip. Everything on the menu is outstanding and I can't wait to get back there to try something new. Marta is not only a great cook but a very warm and charming host.
Love it here! Went with my boyfriend on our anniversary and it was the most amazing time. Great food, great service, great environment.
Food was great but service was off. Not sure if they were short staffed or what but another couple walked out and we waited 15+ minutes after being seated just to get menus.
Expectations fell short. Valentines day, they could not find our reservation but were able to seat us in booth because there were tables open. It had a lunch bar/cafe atmosphere with red and white decorative lights and loud cheesy music. Our booth seats transmitted vibrations from the adjacent booth. Two serving staff were working hard and apologetic but wait time seemed long. We opted to take out. Menu selection was limited; the food was hot, the braised short ribs were good, lobster ravioli fair but too heavy on sauce.
Food was great. Service was very poor. This is actually my first review ever, and am writing it because of how bad the service was.
The ambiance was lovely. The restaurant featured white table linens and mood lighting. The food was delicious. My husband and I began with the antipasto salad and an appetizer of rolled eggplant and cheese, cheese raviolis and meaty meatballs. We each ordered the gnocchi pasta dish, mine with shrimp and my husband ordered his with chicken. We enjoyed every last bite!
Authentic Italian food that everyone in our party of 11 loved. Slow-paced, quiet environment allowed for an enjoyable meal and good conversation. My Italian family never rushed through a meal because “gathering” was as much of the purpose of dinner as was the food. Since everyone talked about the appetizers, entrees and desserts all weekend, I have to highly recommend Toscana.
First visit Friday Night Food was very Good Great service. Away from the waterfront in Plymouth so no waiting and fast service . Very Enjoyable atmosphere
Fried calamari was mushy with a huge amount of dough. Antipasto was very nice but the rest of the food was very average. There was a cook and server only given that it was a weekday. They were both very nice. Neither knew anything about the wines they carry. Red wine had been in cooler overnight and I actually asked the server to microwave it for 15 seconds to get it somewhere near room temp. Website advertises early bird specials. Neither knew anything about this and there was nothing noted on the menu. The server called the owner but the info that came back was very unclear. Again the staff were very nice. I have to put this all on the owner. Very disappointing since a visit a few years ago had been very nice. We won’t be returning.
