Courtney was great! We had a nice time and enjoyed the piano. The food took some time, but was great! We enjoyed our time here.
We were seated at arrival. Service and dinner were excellent.
Out waitress was very attentive.
Parking is good as the restaurant is just on the edge of downtown.
Great Food and Service, but our dinner was a little slow coming out
We hadn't been there in a few years. The food was excellent; the portions were as they should be and service was good. It is now back on our list f places to eat.
The ambience was great, not a lot of tourists. A guy played piano at the front and sang quietly. The waitress although serving all the tables by herself did a great job and she did it with a smile and still had time to talk to us. The food was great too as well as the martinis the waitress made us. I think they need more help there but we were never neglected.
This was our first experience dining at Toscana’s...we were cordially met by our waitress “Courtney” and ushered to our seats. This was early on a Sunday evening and therefore, the restaurant was quiet, just the way we like it. We were a party of four and found the menu varied, but not overly complicated. Selections were interesting, entrees and appetizers cooked well and very tasty. I had the Chicken Abondanza and thought it was delicious...I should add that I come from an Italian family and am used to good Italian food...(I still have family in Italy) and feel that I am a god judge of real Italian cuisine...this is real Italian cooking! The a service was beyond exceptional, which contributed to our overall satisfaction with our dining experience. I would highly recommend this restaurant for those looking for real good Italian food and a fine dining experience.
We were visiting from out of town and stumbled upon this place (via Open Table!). On a high tourism area, it’s a good approach to seek reviews. We were very happy that we did! A bit off the beaten track, and more of a locals place... it was fantastic. Great food and service... the scallops were absolutely to die for! (we both had different scallops entrees). And on our trip there (Friday evening) there was a nice live piano player... just light background music, not overbearing at all. We will definitely return on our next trip.
2nd time eating at Toscana Ristorante...it will be our last. I honestly thought we were being 'punked' both times. After a really bad first experience (chef arrived as the restaurant was opening, which meant long delays for food to be served; and the food tasting awful), I notified the restaurant owner. She assured me that it was a bad night for the chef and that we (hubby and I) should dine again when she was cooking. We arrived a half hour after opening earlier this week. The chef/OWNER showed up a full hour and a half AFTER the restaurant opened. Again, long wait for food, but it was better this time. Hubby still didn't like the swordfish dish, as the swordfish tasted like it had been frozen and was not flavorful and it was rubbery. The only good at Toscana Ristorante is the (one and ONLY server) Courney. I can see how there is only one server needed, as there were only 8 people total on our first visit (a Friday night) and only 5 people total on our last visit (Sunday night). I'm starting to see that the reason for low attendance is because of the way the restaurant is run. Very sad, it the location is great.
Just perfect atmosphere and the food was as good as going into the No End of Boston for an Italian meal.
Excellent food and outstanding customer service. Highly reccomend
Food was delicious and expresso martini was yummy! Small place but I would definitely go again!
The food was delicious and our server Courtney was amazing !
Can’t wait to go back ..
Adorable little place, great service and fantastic food at great prices. Full bar too!
Very good, made a delicious expresso martini!
Small, friendly neighborhood place. Tried the swordfish and the chicken verdicchio - both delicious. The waitress/bartender was very knowledgeable, chatty but not at all overbearing. Just delightful. Not fancy, but a warm casual vibe. Will definitely be back
Food was very good. Courtney did a great job explaining the menu and making food recommendations. She also did a great job keeping our wine glasses full. Food was fresh and cooked to order. Nice dining experience.
The server Courtney was warm welcoming very knowledgeable and extremely attentive. Food was very good. We will be back!
One of the best meals and service I have ever had. This will quickly become a new favorite spot.
Excellent Food! Excellent Service! We loved the Live Music. The server was knowledgeable, and very personable. We will be back for sure.
Another enjoyable visit! Food, service, and atmosphere was great. Music was very pleasant. Thanks for the Christmas tunes.
Atmosphere is relaxing. Need to bring back the Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin music. Our server, Courtney, was excellent. She was friendly, helpful, and attentive. Veal Marsala was very good. Will be back soon.
food was great and service was excellent
This was our first time out to eat inside since February. It was a Monday. We had the restaurant to ourselves. Such a sad time for the restaurant business, but our waitress was warm and welcoming and the chef made our anniversary dinner very, very special. Great food. Great people!
-The wait for food was extremely long.
-The food was unimpressively bland.
-The spaghetti tasted like Comet cleanser residual.
-The piano player was singing, not wearing a mask and not behind a plexi glass screen. He was pitchy and not talented, took away from the ambiance, and made us very uncomfortable knowing that singing is one of the most potent spreaders of airborne covid droplets.
-The only redeeming feature was our friendly and competent server. She was hospitable and cheerful throughout.
We will never return. This was the first open table experience that was sub par.
We ate there with friends for our Anniversary. The piano player was wonderful and playing at just the right level to allow for listening as well as having a conversation at the table. Our waitress was very attentive and helpful with the menu and made excellent cocktails. The food was homemade and excellent, so much so that we asked the waitress if she would come out of the kitchen so we could compliment her on her cooking. She did come out and we had a great conversation and many laughs. We will definitely go back when we are back in Plymouth!
We read great reviews so wanted to try Toscana while we are staying in downtown Plymouth this week. We arrived in a quiet night and in fact the entire downtown is quiet this week. We were seated promptly and drinks arrived along with crispy rolls and EVOO with garlic and spices, an excellent start. Speaking of starters, we ordered eggplant which was delicious. Next we ordered Chicken Marsala and homemade Lobster Ravioli in Vodka sauce. Both were fantastic, flavorful and carefully prepared.
Our server was excellent, very personable and attentive. We highly recommend that if you want great Italian food in a neighborhood place at reasonable prices that you go try Toscana Ristorante! We loved it.
When we walked in the front door we were in the middle of the dining room. The place was full and it wasn’t clear where to find the hostess to be seated. We stood at the bar and waited for someone to acknowledge us. After several minutes, one of the 2 servers finally stopped and asked if we had reservations. Mind you this was after some awkward avoidance of eye contact while they hustled past us several times, leaving us in a state of total confusion as to where to wait. Service was extremely slow. We waited about 30 mins for our antipasto appetizer which was good when it finally arrived followed with an additional 30 min wait for our entree. The decor was unattractive and it was severely understaffed. The food was ok.
Always great food and great service. Our favorite restaurant in Plymouth
This was our first time at Toscana and we loved it. Although it doesn't look like much from the outside, inside, the restaurant is quaint and small but offers wonderful meals and keeps up with the crowds. Our server, Courtney, was lovely and engaging. We chose chicken scampi and swordfish for our entrees which were absolutely delicious. We look forward to returning soon!
Great leisurely dining experience. Seemed like the restaurant was transplanted from Boston’s North End, minus the high prices. The wine and drink selection was extensive and the main entree and desert were delicious. My only recommendation would more Gluten Free desert options. The most unique part of the evening was Ja Ja’s Piano Bar. The “Name that Tune” part from tv & movies was a bit challenging, but quite fun. I’ll be back again and often.
Wonderful little gem on the outskirts of downtown Plymouth.
Courtney was delightful, very easy to talk to, quick efficient and was working be herself!! The keyboard player was an added bonus, nice touch for the evening.
Food... well we have since been there 4 times never ordering the same entrees and have not been disappointed! Good flavorful, hot, well presented and good portions! And the dessert: chocolate lava cake is so smooth it’s like pudding!
Well worth the extra steps or drive avoid all the wait lines and relax in the great hidden secret!
The staff at Toscana made myself and party feel
Like home. Crafty beverages, attentive service and delicious food all around. This restaurant is a hidden gem.
There was 10 of us and we were the only people there. It took 45 minutes to get a drink and an hour to get food. 2 of the 10 people never got their meals. Appetizers came out after the meals. There was only one woman working in the whole place plus the cook. We honestly felt like we were bring punked and the camera crew was going to come out at any moment. So much more to tell but I don’t have time to write a book lol.
This restaurant was suggested to us as out of town visitors
The ambiance was great and the food value for money was high
We were visiting the area to go to a wedding.
We would come back to this restaurant just for the food.
Marta ad Mary Beth made a great team.
Service was not very good Friday night one person in building got wrong bottle of wine was asked if I want to open it was asked 3 times what kind of wine I wanted food was not very good was quiet but one my 2 tables full
Excellent service and food at this quiet neighborhood gem.
Amazing food, great service, romantic environment. The food was impeccable and the dessert to die for. I highly recommend the cannolis, they certainly gives Mikes in Boston’s north end a run for their money. We will definitely be back.
5 huge stars.. bravo!
Hands down the worst dining experience I've ever had. Our waiter was new, unfamiliar with the menu, delivered wrong dishes, and we didn't receive one dish and one drink (but were still charged for both). He did not apologize - instead, he blamed the computer system, the kitchen, etc. The food that was received was very good, but not good enough to make up for the horrible service.
Friendly and timely wait staff. Food was very tasty and well presented.
We will be dining there again soon.
