Beautiful restaurant with service and superb food!
Excellent food and wine. Service good. Would have liked to sit with our friends but there was 6 of us and we could only make reservations for 3 on the date and time needed
Wonderful in all respects.
Favorite spot for lunch. Wonderful food and friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Great service and great food. I could eat there everyday!
Better than we remembered. Our fourth or fifth time at Tosca over 10 years or so. Improved neutral/elegant decor. Excellent service and delicious food. Good, reasonable wine list. Price is at the upper limit of reasonable. Hope management keeps it there. Overall, a very satisfying and happy experience: Definitely close to the top in DC overall.
Fantastic food. Went post-Nutcracker ballet. Excellent risotto and ravioli del plin. Great service.
Toscanini never fails to impress.it achieves an unobtrusive level of service better than most DC restaurants. The Autumnal salad was a flavorful reminder of the season with a variety of complementing ingredients. The duck breast was thick and cooked to perfection. The foie bras mouse added to the dish. French press coffee was perfect.
Wonderful experience before the theater. Everything was lovely and service was just outstanding
My party and I enjoyed a memorable meal at Tosca. Pavel provides impeccable service throughout the meal, answering our questions and attending to our every need. We enjoyed the 24-month aged Parma prosciutto appetizer- it really was like butter! We also tore into the scallops app, cooked perfectly and presented beautifully. We enjoyed the special pasta of the day, a house-made boar pappardelle with a wild boar sauce. The savory and hearty dish was just the thing for a cold day. We also devoured the decadent butternut squash risotto garnished with caviar and decorated with gold leaf. A shared Baba au rum and perfect-foam cappuccinos rounded out this bright experience in an otherwise dreary day.
Service, presentation and quality of food is exceptional. Would recommend highly
Our food was ok, nothing special. The desert was very tiny. For 3 of us we paid over $200 and we had 1 appetizer, 3 main course dishes of pasta/gnocchi, 1 desert, and 2 glasses of wine. For the price there are much better places around. Will not be back for sure.
I have said before, best Michelin Star restaurant without a star and tonight was exceptional. We travel the world and eat in many fine dining restaurants but at Tosca we dine with la familia. As Nicky said...cooking with love from their heart. Creating it, quality of ingredients, presentation and more you wont find in many other restaurants. Last night was a taste of Tuscany and Napoli. Incredible. They made our Anniversary a night we will never forget.
Great every time I dine there. Wait staff are extremely cordial and helpful.
Enjoyed our total dining experience. Our waiter was very helpful and seemed to enjoy helping us decide on our meal selections. The food was outstanding. We were able to have a great conversation without raising our voices. Totally wonderful evening.
Amazing! We will be back!
The portion size was surprisingly smaller than expected
The service was fantastic. We ordered from the dine at dusk menu and it was a wonderful value. Everything was delicious. I particularly enjoyed their take on tiramasu.
Our appetizer was cold and the fire alarm kept going off (intense blinking flashing) during dinner. Waitress didn’t explain the situation or apologize. The waiters are rude. Bad experience.
Good service and food was delish. A pasta dish with a salad and bread was ample for dinner, and reasonably priced.
This is a great place for a business lunch or dinner. It has excellent and creative cuisine in a very comfortable and pleasing environment.
We love Tosca and particularly enjoy its proximity to National and Warner theaters. Great for pre-show dinner. The staff and service is sharp. The creative dishes are perfection.
This restaurant was the PERFECT find for my daughter and I as a 16th birthday/Pre-Theatre dinner option. The fixed Pre-Theatre menu is just the absolute best option one could hope for before heading over to Warner Theatre for a show. There is truly something for everyone, whether you're an adult or teenager! I would definitely make a return visit and recommend this Italian restaurant to my family and friends.
I have had the pleasure of going to Tosca several times over the past few years. I would go more often but I live in Fairfax County, Virginia, not in DC. But when I am staying late in DC and want Italian I go to Tosca. I think the food and service is very good. I am very picky when it comes to Italian food since I work in a great Italian restaurant in New York when I was a teenager and became spoiled.
Love the value of the pre-theatre menu. The braised short ribs ravioli was outstanding and perfect ending to meal was the tiramisu!
Spectacular dinner a few weeks ago at the Chefs Table located inside of the kitchen. The chef was so nice and offered a creative menu. I am so happy to have finally found some truly amazing Italian food in DC. Everyone should experience the tasting menu inside the kitchen because it’s so fun to see all the action happening. Decor is beautiful! Pasta was Delicious. We ate so much and everything was amazing. Dessert was beautiful and tasted lovely. I will be back for sure with friends for more. Thank you for a wonderful dinner!
Pricey but worth it. Quiet, refined atmosphere, polished service, and excellent food add up to a memorable meal.
Loved this place since the day it opened! The most consistently good restaurant in DC!
Fantastic! There just really is no better dining experience. All the staff, every last one of them, are so gracious and considerate and attentive. Truly a first class act. And the food coming out of the kitchen? Amazing! That they get it right every single time is why they have such a loyal following. Love love love this place.
This Italian meal was one of the VERY best I have had in years! Outstanding flavors, textures and presentation on the plates. Our waitress was classy, funny, and very attentive. The entire experience was exceptional. And I highly recommend the tiramisu for dessert - it was OUT of this world!!
I'm biased...end of story. I have been coming for over 4 years for special occasions or just a romantic evening with my wife. I admit the owner and staff have become personal friends and not just because they treat us special. These are genuinely GOOD INDIVIDUALS. Their love and passion for what they do is exhibited in their attitudes which is reflected in their food and service. I refer to this as the best Michelin star restaurant without a star (they should be).
If you want GREAT food, wine and service it is a must visit whether you are living in DC or just visiting. You won't regret it. Oh, and if you are a wine lover, Giovanni has NEVER given us a wine we haven't loved and Ricardo, Niki and Olivia have never prepared a meal we didn't love.
As I said, we are biased...but for a very good reason.
Delicious! Excellent Service even though dining room was full and people waiting to be seated at the bar. Husband loved his white truffle pasta!
First time dining at Tosca on Saturday, 10/27 and it was a wonderful experience. Had a drink at the bar waiting for the rest of my family to arrive and the bartender was great! Elias (?) recommended the Tosca signature drink and it was delicious!!!! He also recommended the beef ravioli plin and that was also delicious!!! My family enjoyed their first time dining at Tosca. Will definitely go back!
This was our second time at this restaurant and it was every bit as wonderful as a year ago. The service and food were exquisite. The snapper was the best I have had. Wonderful wine selection. It was a little pricey but worth it. We will definitely be back when we are in DC again.
Food was only ok. Not great. Service was subpar. No one smiles. Too serious. A little stuffy.
Very disappointing. Eaten at Tosca many times. This was the first time that I’ve been dissatisfied. The food was overly seasoned, and way too much salt was used. I had one of the daily specials, swordfish, but it tasted frozen, not fresh. It was also overpriced. Far too many employees millimg around with not enough to do. That said, the service was up to the usual standards.
We are Tosca fans and have been for the 15 years we’ve lived downtown. Saturday’s dinner was perfect in every way.
Outstanding wine list, salads were very good, steak (filet) was among the best we’ve eaten, and their focaccia is amazing
