Tortuga's Saltwater Grill
The food was delicious! My girlfriends and I all ordered a different brunch plate, and they were all phenomenal! My 2 favorite were the Tenders and Toast and the Chorizo Eggs.
Cool place. Need reservation on busy summer weekends
Good food not great. Service was ok but that’s understandable for covid and Port A. Ate outside bc weather was good. Kids menu is a nice touch also.
Love the team at Tortuga’s! Always such a great experience for us when we go! Our steaks were perfect, and the potatoes and asparagus were on point as well.
It was so nice to not only find amazing food in Port A, but also a clean restaurant, and one that is taking Covid seriously and taking precautions. Our meal was so good. Highly recommend the tuna nachos. The only place worth eating at there is this one. It’s a must!!!!!
This was a great choice for us! We recommended Tortuga to the people we were staying with! They ordered to go and really enjoyed!
We dined outside and all the staff we came in contact with was excellent. Our server was Laura, and even with the mask having to be worn, you could tell she was extremely happy and loved her job. Literally could not have asked for better service! The food was excellent, as well.
10/10 recommend Tortuga’s!
The charbroiled oysters were delicious. We ate dinner once and all enjoyed 4 different entrees then went back for lunch and the Ahi Tuna bowl was yummy. Also, they do a great job with COVID guidelines and we felt very safe.
The food was amazing and the staff was great! We loved it!!
If your looking for a dish that isn’t fried this is your place!! Beautiful plate creations!!!! Gorgeous place for din we as well!
Wanted to try something different. Did not disappoint. Loved it.
It was delicious!
We went for Father’s Day, the food was delicious and service was great.
The crab crusted sea bass was delicious, but the risotto was bland and the asparagus was woody. The snapper ponchatrain was great, but there are bell peppers in the sauce, and the person who ordered this is highly allergic (not mentioned on the menu) and had to be rushed out to get her EpiPen, missing our friend's birthday. Mussels were good but also a little bland. Seafood pasta was good. Server was really great, but service itself was a bit slow. Do love that they take reservations. Definitely too pricy for what we got. Was $200 for party of 4.
It was our 4th wedding anniversary. The food and service were great but the noise was intolerable. They should have asked the customer keep it down. We paid 108 for our meal with the tip. We expected a whole lot more for the price we paid.
Our experience was so great that we are going again tonight! Thank you!
Ordered $40 filet mignion and it was cold.
A $27 pesto that was cold. Way too overpriced
I can stress enough how important it is to make a reservation during this “pandemic”. They are doing an amazing job about keeping it clean and tables away from each other. It’s a small, intimate setting. I can’t tell you how many people walked up, annoyed, that the wait for a party of 12 was 2 hours. They were absolute pros.
Came here for Sunday brunch - ordered the shrimp and grits cake and it was absolutely delicious! Our server was very sweet and knowledgeable. I’m gluten-free and she pointed out to me the items safe for me to eat. Very clean restaurant. Lots of people waiting to get in, but we had made a reservation and were seated right away.
Open table moved our reservation from outdoor seating to indoor. The manager made good on this with a free appetizer. We were not pleased this change happened without our knowledge. Otherwise, great food & staff!
Good food. Only complaint is they keep the red wine chilled
Loved our meal so much! Shrimp and Grits was yummy and the filet with blue cheese and red wine reduction was hands down the best steak I’ve had in a long time! What a fabulous night to venture out after quarantine. A special place.
When we got there, we were told by the hostess that the table we selected thru this app wasn’t available but they still got us seated within 10 minutes (family in front of us was told 45 min wait) so that was a plus. Just wish the app would lock you in at a table forsure, but other than that, the food was delicious and our server was AWESOME and wearing a mask 👏😊
Food was okay not the best but definitely not the worst I’ve ever had. Service was friendly but not that great. I think it’s nice for a server to at least propose dessert no one did here, she just showed up with the bill.
Great food. Great service. Great night out!
Wonderful service! The chargrilled oysters were delicious and the filet with bleu cheese was perfection! So tender and flavorful and cooked as we requested I would definitely return to this restaurant!
Birthday dinner and first social outing after stay at home orders. Been to the island many times and this was our first and definitely be back. The fish was outstanding with the crab! I highly recommend the appetizers of mussels; the sauce is drinkable
You guys were great. The food was so good, fresh and delicious. I am so glad we made reservations. I am sorry that you guys have to turn people away due to being out of food or having to abide by the new 25% capacity. In light of all you guys did a great job!
So great that you can make reservations so you did t have to wait!
Amazing meal. I had a blue cheese-crusted filet with a red wine reduction sauce that was fantastic and my wife really enjoyed her flounder covered with lump crap. The service was great and there was a nice wine list. We’ll definitely be back
Our waiter Laura/Laurie/Lori(I can't find my receipt to confirm her name, long blonde hair and tattoos) on Saturday night(2/22) gave us just about the best service one could possibly hope for at a restaurant. She is one of the best waiters we've ever had in 25+ years going to Port Aransas.
Megan provided excellent service and food was overall very good. Disappointed in up-charges of $2.99 for iced tea when all other adults had ordered an alcoholic beverage, $1.49 for 2 additional slices of bread for mussels, and 2.99 for a 4oz, actually 2oz, sauce indicated as something I really needed to taste (I assumed it was complimentary, my fault for assuming). Avoid the “love spritz” @ $15, too sweet and served in a tiny champagne flute. Recommend the boudain balls, shrimp and grits, mussels, and grilled daily fish. For dessert, the chocolate creme brûlée outshined the key lime pie but both were very good.
Amazing food and drinks. So wonderful knowing they take my gluten sensitivity seriously.
The Valentine's Day special menu still provide a varied selection of appetizers, entrees, and desserts. Everything tasted wonderful. The waitress even offered a key lime pie for dessert that wasn't on the Valentine's menu.
So wonderful! The Valentine's menu was amazing. The staff was wonderful about my Gluten Free status. I had the Blackened Grouper and GF prepared Key Lime pie.
Overall, our Valentine dinner was excellent. Our first time to dine here and was not aware, when making reservations, of a limited Valentine menu, but we still had a good variety of choices. We will dine here again when the full dinner menu is available.
Valentine’s dinner with wife and another couple. Food was excellent but restaurant ambiance was anything but romantic or upscale. Cold air rushed in whenever door opened. Family with multiple kids seated next to us. We asked for booth but told couldn’t have. Staff not dressed appropriately if trying to be more upscale. We were never asked if f we wanted more wine or dessert.
Our only critique of our dining experience was that our NY strip steaks were not as tender ad they could have been. Other than that, we were celebrating our anniversary, which is also Valentine's day, and our server, Moriah, helped make it very special. Overall, very special.
Great dining experience. Casual atmosphere with some of the best food we've had in Port A
It was the off season, so no problem getting a table on a Saturday. Waitstaff was polite and friendly. I had steak and shrimp and my wife had the shrimp and grits. She said hers was very good. Mine was excellent for the price. Cooked just right and very flavorful. We would definitely go back.
