   I was completely blown away. This place was a last minute planning and I was so pleasantly surprised. From the staff, to the service, to the food it was all amazing. If you Love Italian and looking for a wonderful place to take someone you can stop your search.

   So bad. It pains me to write a bad review considering the state of the restaurant industry right now but this was so bad. They had the bartender waiting tables and bartending, granted there were not many people in there but 6 tables and ppl at the bar is too many ppl for 1 person to handle. My friend and I ordered the margarita on their special cocktail list and it was disgustingly sweet. But it took him so long to get back to us that we just drank them. We ordered the shrimp cocktail for an appetizer and it came out with 5 small shrimp with jarred cocktail sauce. For $19.99 I can't believe we didn't get so much as a lemon wedge… and 5 shrimp? Come on. We asked for lemon and again it took so long we had eaten the tiny shrimp. She ordered the roast amish chicken which tasted like it was freezer burnt. I got the pork chop which came with a sauce that was super salty. It wasn't worth complaining bc again he didn't come back to check on us for at least 20 mins… The cocktails were supposed to be half off (HH) but we were charged full price. Overall terribly disappointing and SO expensive. Would not recommend at all

   I have dined at Tortoise many times. Each time a delightful experience. Food never disappoints. Love the old time elegant atmosphere. Service thus far has always been attentive and quite friendly. My last visit was October 23, 2020. Thank you Tortoise for making my birthday special.

   Our third visit and as special as always. Amazing cocktails—especially the whisky sour. Loved the shrimp scampi dip with Ritz crackers. Yum!

   Server ruined our Sweetest Day Celebration. He was rude, condescending, and his behavior bordered on harassment. He wanted us to order and eat as fast as possible so that he could go home. We were constantly rushed and pushed to order our complete dinner ASAP. He consistently interrupted our thoughtful conversation and ruined our evening. We won’t be back with him working there.

   For our last date night before the birth of our next child, we wanted a high-service blow out dinner night. We chose Tortoise Club, where we've dined many times. Once again, it was spectacular. Even in the age of Covid, our experience was spectacular. Matt, our server, like all the staff, were masked. They made our night fun and literally never missed a beat on a 4-course blowout. Our favorites were the octopus starter, the (fully dressed) wedge salad and the New York Strip au poivre. And of course, the Tortoise Pie. Now more than ever, these restaurants need your support and it's time to visit your old favorites. We are so glad we chose Tortoise Club again.

    I loved tortoise! Our server was excellent, our food was delicious and our drinks were superior! We also happen to manage scoring, what I would consider, the best seat in the piano bar!

    Our server was attentive and had good recommendations. The octopus was smaller than we had thought but very tasty. Steak was perfectly cooked and seasoned. There were multiple people walking to the restrooms without any mask- and no one addressed. Servers walked by them without mentioning it - also, a table of more than six was sat as we were leaving. I am not sure if management is disregarding protocol but unfortunately, it did seem like it.

    We decided to celebrate our anniversary at Tortoise Supper Club. Having never been there we weren’t sure what to expect. As soon as we arrived, we were received warmly and led to a private room in the back of the restaurant and given two glasses of champagne and a kind note congratulating us on our anniversary. The service was incredible and very friendly. Despite being in the midst of a global pandemic, the staff went out of their way to provide us with a truly special night. We started with the relish tray, a true supper club classic and it was delicious!! Having spent many years of my life “Up North”, I’ve been in more than my fair share of supper clubs, the ambiance and menu reflect that experience perfectly. The French onion soup was executed flawlessly. I enjoyed the Saturday night Prime Rib special and my husband enjoyed the filet....both were cooked to perfection. Cocktails were fantastic. Honestly, I can’t say enough good things about this place. We will definitely be coming back and will be telling all of our friends.

    The preparation methods of the pork chop and Grits were executed poorly. The pork chop was over cooked. It was very tough and the sauce that was used didn’t accent the meat. It really didn’t make any sense. A vingare based sauce of whatever was used was sour. Pork loves sweetness. You could of used those sour cherries in your cherry pie instead to make a sauce. Or made some sort of apple glazed The cheese grits were under seasoned, had no flavor, and no cheese flavor. Your methods for preparing the asparagus were on the level of a home cook. You left the stem or root on the bottom of the asparagus which doesn’t look good and you should of shaved the asparagus skin to make it look more appealing. I would go back but only for drinks.

    what an amazing experience! they gave our party a private back room which couldnt have been more perfect. the wait staff was SO attentive and kind and even let us stay past closing time! Thank you SO much Tortoise Club for this awesome experience!

    This is my favorite dining and music spot in the city. Fantastic food, paired with great wine, and live jazz on the weekends. A great place for a special night or just to unwind from the week.

    Wonderful dinner out with family- took our children, and restaurant was so gracious about them being there. Server was simply the best we’ve had or seen in years. His baritone first happy birthday ding was unrivaled and we felt very safe from a covid-pandemic standpoint, even dining in. Would highly recommend!

    We really enjoyed our dinner. Our servers Sergio and Manny were excellent. Loved the atmosphere. We decided to eat indoors as they reassured us they followed guidelines for covid, and they did. The food was excellent except for my son ordered the scallops with risotto and was disappointed with the risotto. I had the meatloaf, which was excellent, my husband had the prime rib, and my daughter in law the steak Diane, which they said was very good. We loved the relish tray. All of our cocktails were very good. The tortoise pie was to die for, and I had it with a scoop of bourbon ice cream. A little pricey, but all in all it was a very enjoyable experience.

    This is one of our favorite go-to places, so it broke my heart a little to be the only people in the dining room for the entire night. Menu is still fabulous, food is consistently great and the service is always top-notch. They are completely adhering to all protocols, so there's no worry on that front. We're definitely going back again, and soon.

    Service was decent, but food was underwhelming. I ordered a medium NY Strip and they overcooked it. The Old Fashioned was more ice water than bourbon. We were sitting outside (b.c covid obviously), and noticed that their "Tortoise" sign was completely covered in spider webs and bugs.

    Live music was great -- definitely worth the trip. Soup du jour was great (crawfish corn chowder). Chilean Sea Bass was very good, but overpriced. Pork chop was dry and tough -- definitely not up to the standards of the club.
