Loved everything about the experience. Authentic supper club decor from the sport coats that the hosts wore to the wood paneling on the walls. Food fit the theme with sizable portions of supper club classics like meatloaf and stuffed walleye, with a playful grasshopper adult milkshake to cap the night. Well done!
They have some of the best meatloaf I've ever had. The restaurant was loud. The wait staff was attentive.
We LOVED the Tortoise Supper Club. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted and treated so special. Our waiter was great -- knowledgeable and friendly. The food is amazing! We sat near the fireplace -- so cozy and comfortable. The bar area looked great -- reminds us of a Chicago - staple restaurant -- but not with "stuffy" people or staff! Can't wait to go there again!!
Pre theatre dinner. One of our favorite spots to cone with friends.
Our experience at the Tortoise Club exceeded our expectations. We had a wonderful and helpful waitress. She took the time to explain the menu & answer any questions we had. The food was delicious. We will definitely return and will recommend to friends and family.
Great food, music and service at a reasonable price!
We celebrated a wedding anniversary and everything was perfect! A bonus was a jazz trio playing in the adjacent bar.
Delicious food, impeccable service, sophisticated atmosphere. Would definitely recommend.
Outstanding meal and overall dining experience!!
We went there on a Saturday night for a late Valentine's Day dinner after going to the see the SNL exhibit next door. First time there and we will definitely go back Started with a drink in the bar and found the bartenders to be friendly, fast and informative. Apparently they had a jazz combo playing later, but we didn't get a chance to see them.
Our dinner was outstanding. Food was perfectly prepared and plated. Service couldn't be better. The decor was very interesting, especially if you learn the story of the portraits of the Chicagoan's the decorate the wall. The entire meal was topped off with a delicious Cherry Pie and Ice Cream.
It a word, a "great" evening and we are already making plans for a return visit.
Our waiter was a little quick to get our order...I was in the middle of telling a story and he interrupted 3 times to talk about food...he had a bit of arrogance that was not appreciated..the waiter in training however was awesome...very nice personality.
The ambience was great we went out for our anniversary and they brought us complimentary champagne and card which was really unexpected. The steak was a little too well cooked but still very tasty. Would go back for sure.
Food was incredibly average for the price. Food came out looking and tasting like it was prepared by the dishwasher. Servers were friendly, lighting was too bright. Broken shell all over the mussels. Skirt steak wasn’t seared off at all. Oysters had to have been frozen. Everything lacked flavor.
Great spot for lunch. Tomato soup is killer!
