Tortino Ratings and Reviews
Good, straightforward Italian restaurant. Quality ingredients, preparation, and presentation. Excellent service - just the right balance between friendliness and professionalism. Great value for money. Unpretentious decor. If we lived in the neighborhood, could see this becoming our go-to spot.
Visited on a week day at 12 noon. Was rather empty but the interior looked cozy and spotless. Food good not great. I would have to go back to try something else for a possible additional star.
Gave me the New York City Italian restaurant vibe. Must be the townhouse basement atmosphere, which I like.
Just discovered this restaurant off the beaten path and love it. The food was great and so was the service. Unfortunately not enough people know about it. Once they do, it will explode. Great potential for this bistro. Small menu so the chef can focus on quality and in house made desserts.
We love Tortino and have never been disappointed. We first came here about 5 years ago and then we moved away from the city. We moved back a few months ago but were just able to eat there again last week. The food was great as usual. Can’t wait to head back.
We picked this restaurant as it was just around the corner from our hotel; we'd been travelling all day. I saw this restaurant had good reviews. We were welcomed with a smile. The server gave us the specials; I had a Buffalo Mozzarella, Tomato with a Cucumber sauce appetizer, my Sister and Mum both had the Carpaccio; which was delicious. For my entree I had Papadelle with Lamb Ragu, I can safely say, one of the best Pasta dishes I've ever had. We had a Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, which was excellent, maybe a little pricey. Overall great food, would definitely go back, if ever I'm in DC.
Really excellent restaurant. The Caprese type appetizer made with Burrata cheese was superb. The eggplant appetizer was also great. Thin slices of eggplant with a tomato sauce. The pan seared scallops were perfectly cooked over a cauliflower puree. Finally, the grilled marinated Portobello mushrooms were al dente with a balsamic drip. The spinach Tagliatelle with chicken was just right. Finally, the Roasted Veal Tenderloin was served medium rare as requested served over au gratin potatoes with a Black Truffle reduction. The couple next to us raved about the grilled pork chops. So don't go anywhere else before Tortino. By the way, very reasonably priced.
