Amazing restaurant. We stumbled upon it randomly a while back and were in awe by how delicious the food was. This time, we went for my birthday and the food and service were great - again!
Will be going back.
Authentic delicious true Italian food. I haven't had an Italian meal this good since the last time I visited Italy. Bravo to the chef!
LOVE LOVE LOVE TORTINO! We couldn't ask for a better neighborhood restaurant!
Tortino is always a delight. Everything on the menu is good. But try the specials if they have something that interests you.
We had the tomato and burrata salad last night. Sweet and silky. Wonderful. Squid ink pasta with scallops was terrific.
Small chef run Italian restaurant. The food was fresh and excellent. Not inexpensive but worth it.
We were excited to try the food based on reviews. The atmosphere was very nice...quiet. We ordered the scallops for an appetizer. Kind of lack luster. Wouldn’t recommend it. It only came with 2 scallops and the texture and flavor didn’t impress. However, we ordered two pasta dishes, the Parpadelle and the Fettuccine. Both were made with homemade pasta and the sauce was outstanding! I would go back to this neighborhood style restaurant any time.
My husband and I are so excited to have discovered this new restaurant, well it is new to us. We ordered the Branzino and it was very well cooked.; the bread, the salad, the crab cake special and the waiter was so thoughtful. This is a solid restaurant and I highly recommend it.
Charged 8 dollars when we wanted tap water. Food was salty and over priced. Waiter offered me oil and black pepper to dip my bread in, had to ask for balsamic. Very dissatisfied would not return
Amazing experience, Tortino never disappoints. Crabcake and burrata specials were fantastic, and the pasta as always is excellent. Service was great and cannot recommend this place enough.
Excellent Italian. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Negroni was fabulous.
If I lived in Washington this is the kind of restaurant where I would be a regular customer. It isn’t extraordinary in any way but so comfortable with good food and super-nice staff.
Wonderful to return to Tortino after a year missing great food by the owner chef
As always, the food was spectacular! I brought 4 of my friends who had never been there before. Since it was such a beautiful night, and they don't take reservations for the patio, I asked if we could be seated outside. The staff was more than willing to accommodate us.
Each course was better than the next! This is a hidden gem in the neighborhood. For shared appetizers we ordered the prosciutto and the grilled Portobello mushrooms. A few of my friends told me they didn't even like mushrooms but there were delicious. A few had osso bucco with risotto. They ran out of the dish but those who were lucky enough to snag them were in heaven.
It was a beautiful evening with spectacular food and good friends I could share it with.
They all vowed they would be going back!
Service was super. Allowed tasting of various wines prior to ordering. Accommodating with changes requested. Food was excellent with good variety. Wonderful experience.
Great food, wine, service! Will return for another beautiful evening!
Very attentive service, friendly staff. As good as any meal I've had in Tuscany while living in Italy. A very nice Puglian wine to boot.
We had dinner at Tortinos on Mother's Day. Originally I wanted to eat out on a patio due to being cautious with the pandemic, but the weather was not looking good so I came across this restaurant near my daughter's house and was able to book a reservation a few days before. I am so glad we decided to try this restaurant. Tables were socially distanced and the waiters wore masks. The service was excellent and our party of four loved their entrees of Saffron pasta and lamb ravioli. The tiramisu we ordered for dessert was delicious. This was our first indoor dining experience since the pandemic and we were all very comfortable and pleased with Tortinos. Looking forward to return again to this restaurant.
Staff and food are the best! Can’t wait to go back.
All of the food was absolutely incredible and a great wine selection. The ambience was nice and quiet so you could easily have conversations. Hidden gem! Will definitely be back.
The food was absolutely superb. The wait staff were knowledgeable about the menu and were extremely timely.
I have been going to Tortino for many years. Everyone I have ever taken there falls in love with the great food, excellent service and an all around great meal. Can not say enough about them!!!!
Pedro was phenomenal. Top-notch service. Also, food was amazing, hats off to the chef.
Food was very good as was the service. Good wine recommendations. We chose to sit outside knowing that it can get noisy with traffic.
Very quiet and personable. The food was great and I definitely will be back again!
It was the best itilan restaurant I have been to
Wonderful! We will be back upon our next trip to Washington DC.
I was super impressed with everything about this restaurant. It was great for a special occasion. If you’re driving, then give yourself a little extra time as there were not a lot of options when I pulled up unprepared.
Excellent food and service. A little way from the downtown busy area but with taxi or uber/lyft it was very reasonable.
We really enjoyed the scallop and truffle cauliflower appetizer. Pastas are made in house and gnocci was excellent.
My husband and I were visiting DC (which we love to do from time to time). We tried Tortino for the first time this past trip (the first we’ve made since the Pandemic). The server was excellent, the bar tender made fantastic drinks, and the two ravioli dishes we ordered were to die for. I had Lobster Ravioli in a blush sauce. This is usually served in a heavier cream based sauce. Not here- the sauce was light, fresh, and full of flavor. The flavor was amazing and the pasta’s texture led us to believe it was fresh. My husband had the lamb ravioli in a red wine reduction. Also incredible (I got to taste it- and I don’t even like lamb!). I’d strongly recommend trying this local gem!
Tortino is an excellent choice for a quiet, delicious meal.
Food was outstanding. Lamb Oso buco , pork chop in balsamic glaze. Excellent.
My favorite neighborhood Italian restaurant in all of DC. The food is outstanding and the prices are reasonable. My favorites are the beat salad, and the Osso Bucho, but haven't been disappointed with any choices. There is no pretense in this restaurant, making it relaxing and enjoyable. I've tried to skip the deserts, but failed. They are wonderful.
Restaurant is super cute and service was on point. We had the restaurant to ourselves, so it was very peaceful and nice. Great atmosphere and vibe.
We ordered the cauliflower soup and tuna tartare as appetizers. Soup was delicious and light, totally would recommend this. I wasn’t a big fan of the tuna tartare, thought it was slightly too sour. For pasta, I ordered the seafood linguini with lobster, shrimp, clams and mussels. I wish the pasta sauce was a little bit creamier and less salty. I think it was the seafood that made it a bit too flavorful. Overall, a good restaurant and food was good, but definitely been to better Italian place in the DC area.
I love Tortinos, I go here so often the food and service is always great. It’s never crowded. I recommend this place if you want a nice calm evening.
Everything was AMAZING!!! From the server to the ambiance to the food to just about everything you could think of - will definitely be headed back!
Tortino is such a neighborhood gem! The specials are outstanding! Anthony and Benito make us feel like family when we dine here. Because of COVID, I do not dine out but I occasionally make an exception for Tortino. The staff wears masks and takes COVID procedures seriously.
Amazing dinner with my fiance, she loved everything plus a nice bottle of barbaresco
Restaurant was quiet and lovely. Cozy atmosphere. Best part was the food. 5/5 highly recommend for a quiet date with a loved one.
Good bread, tiramisu and sorbet but the main courses were very disappointing, especially the goat cheese gnocchi that had no flavors. The staff was very nice and the service was good, but we won't go back.
