Marsala mushroom sauce
Fried calamari and mild jalapeño, served with spicy tomato sauce
Linguini Frutti di Mare
Mussels, clams, shrimp, and scallops in a spicy rapini cherry tomato sauce
I was there last night...on a Saturday. Had reservations at 8 PM. There was only a couple of other tables occupied! Felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. This is in a little retail center in the middle of a residential neighborhood. If it was on a main road, I think it would be packed. Great food and drinks and I think this is a little gem of a restaurant. You should definitely try it. I will definitely return.
Tortino Mare has amazing food. It is truly a hidden gem in Manassas Park. Seek.It.Out.
Excellent service and great food!!
We started with the Portabella mushroom appetizer which was a beautiful presentation in addition to being very, very tasty! I had the crabmeat ravioli with the lobster bisque and tomato sauce,,,it was exquisite! My wife had the salmon in sambuca (sp) sauce with veggies and potatoes she adored it,,,my taste agreed it was also wonderful. We shared a dessert, a cherry/chocolate mousse filled dome of hard dark chocolate set on a chocolate macaron...all surrounded by fruit puree ,,,,It was "To die for!" We plan on going back soon!!!
I'm so glad Tortino Mare was able to weather the pandemic. It's such a great restaurant. We went on a Tuesday evening and it was a pretty quiet place with only a few tables occupied, so it was very quiet. But the food was excellent, as always. Grilled Caesar Salad and Burrata appetizers were excellent, as were the Veal Marsala and Mushroom Ravioli. Dessert was Ricotta Cheesecake and Semifredo. All wonderful.
So great! Food is amazing. We are long time customers. We do miss the Risotto specials though.
Excellent good and service!
Another wonderful evening at Tortino Mare! It's one of our favorite places to dine, especially for special occasions.
Very understated, but excellent food and AWESOME desserts! The semifreddo was EXCELLENT and they can really make a cappuccino! We will definitely be coming back here. A hidden gem in Manassas!
Perfect little hidden gem!
Atmosphere is fine. Food was WAY better than expected. We had 4 courses - appetizer, salad, entree, and dessert. We loved everything. Wine selection was okay. Quiet on a weekday evening.
Fantastic service and amazing food!!
I reviewed this place back in November, and have to reiterate my fears for the future of this very nice restaurant. We were there on Saturday evening, July 10 (during prime dinner hour) and including my wife and me there were a total of 9 people in the restaurant. The food was good, although the menu has fewer choices, and the servers were pleasant and attentive. It’s just very strange eating in what was essentially an empty restaurant on a Saturday night.
One person got fish that had lots of bones in it and she complained to manager, and manager could care less and said that's how the dish is made. Not great customer service. The whole fish should of been taken off the bill and she she have gotten a better meal. The customer shouldn't have to worry about choking on a small bone when eatting. Was able to occupy a large group, which was nice.
It was pleasant
Homemade pasta is fabulous! Great food and service. We had a fantastic dinner and wine!
This was the first time eating inside a restaurant since the start of the pandemic. Their menu seems to be a bit smaller than pre-pandemic, but it still covers all the bases. We started with the Grilled Portobello Mushroom and the Caesar Salad. Both were excellent. The Caesar has a large heart of romaine, which is slightly grilled. The smoky flavor really adds to the experience. Our main courses were the New York Steak with red wine sauce and Veal Marsala. Both were also excellent and were served with fresh vegetables. For dessert, we had Panna Cota and Semifreddo. Again, excellent. It's possible our experience was enhanced by the joy of eating in a really good restaurant again, but I don't think so. This was on a Tuesday evening, and it was not crowded, so it was pretty quiet. However, it had a continuous flow of customers, both dine in and picking up meals. Still a great place.
First dine in restaurant visit since the Covid 19 shutdown and it had to be Tortino Mare! Service and the food were as excellent as it always was. We missed you and I am personally elated you survived the shutdown.
It was amazing food ! The beef carpaccio with burrata was fantastic! The service was incredible and very sweet! They gave us an additional appetizer on the house for our anniversary! Can’t wait to go back.
The food was fabulous! We enjoyed everything from appetizers to dessert. The after dinner Lemoncello drink was very tasty. Our waitress was exceptional and the chef is fabulous. We cannot wait to go back again!
Beautifully presented and delicious food and perfect service! I was worried because we had my two small children in the party, but the restarant and staff were so accommodating. Our server was wonderful and so kind to my kids. Love this place. Food was deliscious. Try the salmon!!
Food is exquisite, classic ambiance excellent service!
So so. The entire experience was so so. Tiramisu was great.
Pre-COVID, we dined regularly at Tortino Mare. Our last few visits in late 2019 and early 2020 were rather disappointing. The food was still great but the service had become mediocre. One time we had no less than 5 servers. We dined at Tortino Mare for the first time in over a year on Friday the 5th. The food was delicious and our server was delightful. She was attentive but not intrusive. We also felt very safe as everyone was wearing masks and the tables were more than 6' apart. The only complaint is that it was really chilly.
Good was extraordinary as usual! Extensive wine list, knowledgeable staff!
Food was ok but the service was not prompt or professional
Over all the food was good....the service was Ext really slow and inattentive, the cost for value was way off. I will likely not return.
We had a great experience last night celebrating my 84-year-old mother's birthday. The food was great and the staff was warm, pleasant, and accomodating. We were given a private room which helped us feel safe dining out with her with covid. They brought birthday balloons and a birthday dessert without us asking. This was a very nice touch. We very much enjoyed our meals and I would definitely recommend it.
We booked for NYE after reading the online reviews which sounded promising. While the service and presentation was good, the food lacked flavor, texture, and quality. Having been to Italy and growing up in and around Italian households, this place missed the mark and we were extremely disappointed.
Birthday and Christmas and all expectations were met we have been there on other occasions and are never disappointed.
As always, a great meal and exceptional service. One of favorite places for special dinners.
We enjoyed this, an alternative to getting together with family this Christmas.
I like this place very much. We’ve been here a number of times, and have always been happy with the experience. With the pandemic, though, we haven’t gone out much and I’m afraid we aren’t the only ones. We were there on Wednesday evening, and from 6:00 through about 7:30 we were the ONLY diners in the place. It would be a shame to lose such a nice local restaurant, but I fear for its future if people don’t start getting out and patronizing them.
The food was delicious and well prepared, and the service was excellent.
Amazing food. We both got the day’s specials and were so pleased. High end dining outside of DC Metro.
The calamari was the best I have ever had! So was the taramisu! I had the tagliatelle. Delicious! My husband Had the lamb ravioli and our friend veal Marsala. Everyone enjoyed their dinners. I highly recommend this restaurant. The pizzas looked delicious!
The Linguini Frutti di Mare was not as good as we had heard. The shrimp were over cooked and old tasting. There were no clams and the spicy sauce was absent. The Veal Marsala was very tender with a flavorful wine sauce. The Grilled Portobello Mushrooms were tasty but over cooked - the char being slightly too dense. The Calamari Fritti was tasty, the fried jalapeño a nice touch, the spicy sauce a not at all spicy tomato paste. The Semifreddo was amazing - this is a must have. The Mixed Gelato was two steps away from dessert heaven. If you like sweet and sour, this is a great go-to. The room was clean and quiet, the service five stars. The Pinot Grigio Quadri was pleasant and crisp and a good choice for the seafood plate.
This is a hidden gem! Food was awesome! Even the Cosmo was awesome!
Manassas doesn’t deserve this culinary establishment! Outstanding Italian restaurant. From the appetizers, pizza to the outstanding Veal Marsala entree, excellent!
Chef has a new restaurant and this one has fallen way off. Servers don’t know the menu, food was borderline terrible. Should have known things were bad when only one other party was dining. What a shame. Used to love this place. Never again.
