Tortilla Republic WeHo Ratings and Reviews
I've gone to TR almost since day one. Lately the service has become really bad. The waiters and staff used to be right on top of everything. We recently had Adam. Second time we've had him and second time, I've felt not only rushed through my meal, but pushed out the door so he could turn the table for more customers. The service has become less personal, more robotic, and certainly feeling like they don't want you sitting there any longer than you have to.
Outside of the service level changing, the food is always great quality and is always consistent.
Decided to come here with my girlfriend to celebrate a nice 8 month anniversary. We were seated immediately and we’re taken care of very well. The food was great the steak was well cooked and her enchiladas were very flavorful. They even gave us dessert on the house! That was great. Cannot complain excellent experience we will definitely be back in the future.
The service was great and the vegetarian option was yummy. The carnitas was heavy on the citrus, which wasn't a favorite at our table, and the jicama-shrimp tacos were a little bland. It's a nice environment, but really, really loud. It's not a place for an intimate conversation.
Have been here many times over the years, but the this time the service was the worst. The waiter never came to take our order. We had the flag someone down after waiting forever. Also near the end of the evening the place was almost empty and no one came to offer the bill. We had to find someone.
This is a go-to local Mexican restaurant for us and they have taco nights as well as special events that are fun to attend. Overall, the menu has a good variety, though a couple of the taco combinations have sometimes been a little tasteless. It seems like it varies with the inspiration of the chef. Go-tos like the carnitas and the nachos are delicious plus the place is always a scene, and lively.
We loved our first experience at Torilla Republic and can't wait to go back. The menu is extensive and their food was delicious. Their "Skinny Margarita with Avion tequila" was great as were each and every item we ordered. We ordered the Tres Salsas and Queso Asado to start, followed by the Ceviche, Chicken Mole and Carnitas. All fantastic. Best Mexican we've ever had.
Picked it at random as a pre-Troubadour-show dinner (just a couple of blocks away from the club). The food, the service, and the ambiance all were excellent. My veggie enchiladas were superb. We were seated in the back room, and the low noise level was conducive to conversation. I definitely plan to return to Tortilla Republic.
A really FUN restaurant on the HOTTEST street in West LA. Very energetic, exciting Bar Scene with really attractive people. Hand crafted cocktails, terrific margaritas made with freshly squeezed lime juice, two TVs for you sports fans, guacamole is made table side and if you like enchiladas, at TR you wont be dissappointed, for they make the most delicious sweeza chicken enchiladas Ive ever tasted. Though, If you're a Salmon lover, that too is to die for, always fresh and yummy tasting. Their menu is unique, the torilla chips are fresh and come hot to the table with a delicious housemade salas that is absolutly perfect. I am a very finicky eater, I only eat the freshest of fresh ingredients and Tortilla Replublic never fails at that.. seriously, the best mexican restaurant in the Los Angeles area, nothing compares!! Highly recommend this restaurant to all foodie, you won't be dissappointed. A real WINNER!!
Always have a lovely time at Tortilla Republic. An easy place to meet, a little away from the SM crowd, but close enough to get there before or after.
Love the jalapeno margaritas by the pitcher. We love the short ribs, but the flautas are great, mole, etc. And of course the servers are so sexy and charming.
I met two friends for happy hour on a Friday evening. The margaritas were fabulous and the short rib tacos were divine as were all of the happy hour delicacies that we ordered. It is best to make reservations on weekends as it is very popular with the locals in WeHO . I was particularly happy with my server, an African woman from England. She was very attentive to our needs and went beyond the call of duty to ensure we had everything we needed. Being in the service industry myself, I love it when service in done correctly. I would recommend TR highly and plan to return soon.
Good experience until valet across the street closed & took my car. They didn't tell us when they were closing when we valeted, so when we got there around midnight we were shocked to see that no attendent was there & my car was gone. Stressful. Had to uber home & come back the next day in hopes that valet just parked my car somewhere & it wasn't stolen.
Carnitas were too greasy.
Over all my experience at the restaurant was very good. Great ambiance. The presentation of the food was simplistic yet cultural. The staff was pleasant and attentive. Wasn't too pleased about the parking (2 hrs for $5 then, I believe $1 every few minutes) but that's LA for ya.
