Very excited about trying this place out. The atmosphere was great and the cooking area being in the middle of the establishment was a great touch. The service started off well from the start but then kind of went downhill from there. We we had a 7 pm reservation with a 10 pm event to attend at Billy Bob’s. Got to the point we didn’t want to order drinks because it was taking too long to even get a refill on our water. Needed to ask manager to check on our food since it was already getting close to 8:30 pm. Food finally arrived. Now that was the highlight. The food we all got was so good! I definitely want to try this place again and might, but the service portion was very lacking. I get places are understaffed but it didn’t seem to be this night. Maybe another time Toro Toro.
Nathan was amazing! The whole experience was perfect. Best tomahawk Ive ever had!
The food tasted good, but the service was terribly slow. It took a while to get drinks, and then once we ordered we waited an hour for food. When it did arrive, most of it was cold. Things had good flavors, but you want the temperatures to be correct. I was also surprised by the prices. I hadn't checked the menu before we went because I'd heard great things about the place and the location was going to be perfect for our needs. But, to me the pricing was more of a special occasion type restaurant and I just did not expect that. The atmosphere was cool. But that's it.
We brought my 84 years old aunt from California , she loves your Mercado margarita and the ribeye. On the way to the airport today, she reminded me to drink this for her the next time I go . :)))
We had a wonderful time , food is great like usual. . I wish you would bring back the ToroToro burger, it is a great dish for children and even adult like me.
Thanks 4 course meal. Great salad, cold-dry turkey, long waits between courses, great bread pudding w/tiny scoop of ice cream for dessert. The pino noire was sub par. All for a mere $170 for my wife and myself. We were expecting more from the #1 rated restaurant on Yelp??
Had tickets to Bass Hall and made reservations at Toro Toro for 1.5 hours before. Our waiter suggested that we not order steak since it wouldn’t be ready in time - so we ordered a smaller salmon plate that was recommended. After waiting over an hour, we left without getting our meal. The table next to us had been waiting almost 2 hours and hadn’t received their meals either.
Everything was great except seating. When we dine out, part of the experience is the beauty of the restaurant and people watching. We sat along the brick wall. The person sitting facing the wall can see nothing but a boring brick wall. Their back is to EVERYTHING. It would be nice to have large mirrors up to make the experience that much more enjoyable and to enjoy the scenery.
The occasion was my wife’s birthday. We got right in but we were seated at a two top crammed in between 2 four tops like we were all one group. Everyone can hear what everyone is saying. We both ordered Colorado Bulldogs that took almost 2.0 minutes to arrive and we’re poorly made. We had swordfish dip app that was ok. We nibbled on that for over 30 minutes before our server took our order. We told him twice we were ready & “he’d be right back to take it”. We ordered a second round of drinks that also took too long but they only brought one for me and not my wife so we had to wait again. We were there 45 minutes before we ordered. Both ordered the filet. Medium rare for me, medium for the wife. It took one hour for our food to come out. He came by one time and I asked him to check on our order. He came back two minutes later and said they would be out in less than seven minutes. It took 30 more minutes before we got our food. Both of our steaks were medium well. By then we were both quite irritated. We had a carriage ride picking us up from dinner and the carriage was already there waiting because dinner took so long. The manager came by and we aired our issues and he was apologetic. When he came by a second time to check on us after our dinner came in and I showed him how down the steaks were he elected to comp our food 100%. We were not looking for a free meal. We were looking for a good meal for my wife’s birthday. One of the reasons we chose the restaurant was for a particular Apple dessert my wife wanted that she wasn’t allowed to get because we were so late. Then when I get the bill for the drinks I’m even more irritated. $17 each for a Colorado bulldog!!!! I’ve been drinking bulldogs for 30 years and this is easily the most over ever paid. Other high end restaurants charge $10-$12 at the most. As you can guess the overall experience was a resounding thumbs down especially since it was my wife’s birthday. Extremely disappointed.
The food and service was outstanding. It was so good we got the managers contact information to schedule a reservation for a large group in a couple of months.
Love the quality of food and ambiance but waiters came way too many times to the table and rush you to get you out of the door, impossible to
Enjoy like that, give people time, thanks
Food was okay. Service was slow, but our server was friendly and helpful — even though we never got our to-go boxes. Overall, it was okay.
I was so excited to try this restaurant but I will not be back. Nothing really stood out on the menu as something that I have to come back for. The drinks were sub par for $16+. I ordered the tiger prawns and they were not good, I had to spit it out.
This was a very fun and unique experience for a date night! We started with signature cocktails and were not disappointed. My fiancé loved the tuna ceviche as a starter! We got the smoked salmon and tiger prawns, and thoroughly enjoyed them. Our server was insightful and attentive. Overall a very good experience and a fun place to try!
Toro Toro did not disappoint! Great service, good ambiance. The smoked swordfish dip was the best I’ve had, light and flavorful. The Parmesan truffle mashed potatoes were hands down the best mashed potatoes I’ve ever had. We shared the Churassco (they cut and serve the meats table side) and it was excellent. My favorite was the chimichurri sauce with the lamb chops but the Brazilian style steak was the most flavorful and very tender. They served a chocolate dessert for my birthday which is always a nice touch. I want to go back and try more items for sure.
A truly fantastic experience. The presentation was incredible to a point where I was worried we were paying for theatrics. I was wrong. The food was incredible! Our server was attentive and provided some excellent advice on the menu items.
Am disappointed that this is no longer a tapas place. That made it different and it was kind of cool. Now it is just another steakhouse. Food was fine but there a million of them. I can’t blame them for the change because that is likely what hotel guests want
Great food and service, fantastic drinks, overall excellent location to celebrate a special occasion
Toro Brunch was fantastic I highly recommend the brunch special!!
Food was amazing! My Ribeye was cooked perfect and my wife's salmon was awesome. The white raisins in the Brussel sprouts were the perfect touch of sweetness to go with the dish. Our server, Brett, was very friendly and informative. We were pleased with his suggestion of the swordfish dip. Our only issue, as trivial as it is, was that the AC was blowing so hard on our table that it would move the paper menu! Can't wait to go back!
Food was excellent and they went above and beyond to accommodate a food allergy for me. Our server was friendly and attentive. Large space, well decorated. Noise level is a little high, but I still strongly recommend Toro Toro for good food and service.
Looking for a steak house look else where food was decent not special. Value was not good
Food was less than average - very over priced for the quality of the meal.
Entrees were really good, excellent lamb and beef. The desserts were just barely fair. They serve NO bread, what’s up with that.? Our waitress was in training, and the waiter in charge of her did inform us, so we knew the service would be questionable...
The main reason I won’t go back is due to the bar and cocktail situation. I asked for “Crown and 7”, and was told that they only carry Pepsi products. So no 7-Up, nor Sprite, nor Ginger Ale. They offered Sierra Mist as a mixer. Gross.! Any nice restaurant/bar I’ve ever been to, always has the ‘basics’ to mix with cocktails.
I’ve been to this restaurant before Covid came to town, and everything got shut down. I had a great experience.
Last night’s dinner was not a repeat experience.
Great dinning experience! I made reservations for 4 and was a great birthday night for the the birthday boy! If you like spicy food they have it!
Food was good. Too must salt on Ribeye.
52 oz tomahawk did not disappoint!! Best steak we have ever had. Service was extremely attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. Cocktails were fantastic, too!
The food was outstanding and so was the service, thank you, Nikko! The noise level was way too loud. Prices were a little high, discouraging some selections. Overall, a good experience and we will be back (with ear plugs 😉)!
Short Ribs horrible!!!! Crazy salty!!!
It was great other than the noise level.
It was so loud we had a hard time hearing our own groups conversation.
A but noisy for me but food was fantastic! Highly recommend the salmon.
I stayed at The Worthington Renaissance Hotel Fort Worth in which this restaurant is located, so I had a few encounters to comment upon. My reservation for Friday evening could only be done through OpenTable. I called the restaurant days before checking into my hotel to reserve a spot and was told there are no reservations, but I can ask the day that I would like to book and I would be fit in. I look on Yelp which takes me to OpenTable to book for Toro Toro.
Fast forward, ,my reservation was fine, my server, Austin, was excellent and the food was divine. I literally ordered everything on the menu except the burger and 3 of the salads for my table.
The next day my husband goes to the bar to order beers to take back up to our room to drink while the football game is on. The bartender ignored him. She even served people whom came to the bar after him. He had to say something to her before she even recognized served him.
The following day I go the bar for a bottle of champagne. The bartended (we are not sure if it is the same bartender b/c we were not together for these events) serves everyone except for me. My husband had not shared his story with me at this point, so I am flabbergasted that this bartender is going around the bar as if I am not sitting there.
I am a minority, as is my spouse. Our bartenders were White females whom paid considerable attention to other Whites. It was not until our ride home that my husband and I shared these stories to come to a conclusion of some type of racism that went on after our wonderful dinner.
For our dinner we had a server whom would get our drinks so we didn't get treated as if we were not patrons of the facility. When both, myself and spouse, went to the bar as individuals, we were ignored by the bartender. The blatant disrespect is a problem.
The food is wonderful, but the treatment by the bartenders are subpar. I don't know that I will be back on the treatment alone.
The service was fantastic. The meat is good but the side lacked flavor big time. It was good for a one time visit.
Absolutely Our favorite place for cocktails and a night out .
If we have been there for 2 weeks , I start missing it .
My husband and our children stop asking where do I take them.
Thank you Austin and Zack for another wonderful dinner . It is so nice to meet you Zack.
Our server was great. Very attentive and expedient. Ambiance was fair due to being to near the lobby and bar and noise being an issue. Food was fair. The steak was cooked to order and flavorful but was a supermarket cut for an exorbitant price. The asparagus was great but the mashed potatoes were runny and poorly seasoned. The dessert was said to be “smoked Granny Smith apple but there was no smokey essence though it was a tasty apple crisp. Over all, high price for mediocre quality menu but great service.
Food and service outstanding. Server was very attentive and helpful.
Celebrating my wife’s 50 birthday, advised staff, it didn’t seem to matter. Was dissatisfied on a couple of occasions, once we were not asked what we wanted to drink, second we had to ask multiple times for plates to eat from.
Excellent first time experience! The salmon dip was delicious. The shared mixed meats was cooked to perfection! The truffle mashed potatoes were a delight! The desserts were the perfect cap to a very delicious meal!
The acoustic was way too loud (there was a happening going on every day we stayed there). The waiter was satisfying professional, but he was very busy, so it took forever to get our wine.
Thank you for your rating! We appreciate your feedback and will share your notes with the team. We hope to see you in again soon!
Great food and service. Was just very loud. Would be good for a big group.
Thank you for your rating! We appreciate your feedback and look forward to the opportunity of having you in again soon!
Great experience. Valet validated parking.
Thank you, Joshua, for your 5-star rating! We hope to see you in again soon!
