We are on a Sunday so not too filled. The menu was really inviting and unique. Got a mojito but didn’t taste like there was any alcohol in it. Presentation was great and so was the taste but expected a few more chips to my skewer. Could have had a little more food for the price. Waiter wasn’t very attentive.
The guacamole with atun and the pulpo were excellent! Their traditional Margarita was very good too!
Our server, Roberto was excellent. He made sure we had great food choices.
It would be a good fun place for groups with nice energetic atmosphere who aren’t picky about the food and service. The food was good but not great. The food service was good the drink service was terrible- my first drink arrived after the first round of food. We ordered the “family style” food which is a good deal. But a bit strange that they brought so many of the same dish out. And their mixed drinks were very weak, tasty but totally watered down. I’m a total light weight, I normally have to limit myself to one cocktail. Here I had 5 and never felt them. But I don’t totally mind since I enjoyed them.
A surprise...great $40 a head unlimited topas is the way to go...fun food
My son took me for Mother’s Day Brunch and everything was exceptional except there was an extremely loud family when we arrived. Other than that everything was a class act from the time we entered at the hostess station through the entire meal. The General Manager Josip went above and beyond to ensure our service was top notch and we truly had exceptional dining experience. The food was great and the service first rate. Will definitely visit again.
Been here several times In the past on Saturdays and they had the brunch buffet. Came today mother's day and was disappointed. No buffet. There's no options for kids and the menu is less than impressive. Presentation is unattractive and it all tasted cold and not fresh. Brunch drinks were super weak. Overall felt like a total waste of money. I stuck around cos its such a lovely ambiance but probably wont ever be back
Great food, great service. The family and went for mother’s day brunch and we will definitely be going back.
We kept pushing our reservation and they were very accommodating especially since our group number was less than that on the reservation. Great food and great drinks!
From the moment we entered (early for our reservation), we were greeted at the door and shown to our table. The table happened to be right near the front entrance. I requested we be moved since it was pouring outside and pretty chilly that evening. Upon asking to be moved, I could see the consternation well up in the gent's face. Here's the oddity: the restaurant was practically empty and there were dozens of open seats. I requested a window 2-seater; he responded that it was already reserved. How now brown cow? (No one ever sat at that table btw) On to the food. We ordered family style. After some confusion from the water, whom English was clearly not his first language, we started to receive tapas (2 of which we were clear we weren't interested). I'll cut to the chase - nothing was really memorable. We were excited to have their 3 ceviche dishes and they were all just meh. One tasted like the marinade was French dressing. A few things were good but nothing was excellent. Before long, this joint turned into a club - unbeknownst to us. Folks started streaming in and the party was jumping downstairs. We had no clue. The waft of cigarette smoke started to pierce its way into dining room and those who were too inebriated continued to file in. Not nearly what we were hoping for on our 12th wedding anniversary. I hate to say, but I wouldn't recommend Toro Toro. Sorry not sorry.
Toro Toro took great care of us, a party of 11 celebrating a college graduation. Food was outstanding. Drinks were pricey. Service could not have been more accommodating and they really made an extra effort to make our evening festive and memorable. Highly recommend.
Food quality was exemplary and a great value for the price. Diversity of tastes and spices from a wide variety of Latin cooking...Peruvian ceviche, Colombian choclo, Mexican sauces, etc.
We did the unlimited drinks and plates. The drinks were weak, plates were brought without asking what we wanted more of or didn’t want more of, server was rather inattentive. It may have been better if we had ordered a la carte as the food was good.
Excellent food. Very loud music from whatever was going on downstairs.
I did not receive my 10$ code
Great food and service! I am a pescatarian and the server was very accommodating!
I can't recall our server's name but she was excellent as was the food and the place. Will go again.
I was disappointed by this place. Had high review, but We found it to be only so-so. Several dishes were overly salty. Not so amazing flavors. We’ve enjoyed much better Tapas places in DC. The place is also rather loud, even though it was not totally full - hard to have a conversation. We went as a normal Friday night dinner. I don’t plan to go back. I’d not recommend the place highly.
The staff, cocktails, and food were great; the ambiance not as much for me. The overhead lights at our table were super bright and harsh, the space is very loud, and generally it just wasn’t what I was looking for that night. That being said, I’d go back knowing what to expect.
Went to Toro Toro for my birthday and it was the perfect spot! The food was great, cocktails were delicious and the service was impeccable. They have an unlimited food/cocktail option that we chose and it was the best choice! Tacos, empanadas, skewers and greens salad! I had prickly pear cocktails all night. I’ll be back soon
Food not particularly fresh. Hard to understand the great reviews...
I’ve had brunch here when it was a buffet and it was GREAT! They’ve changed to a tapas style model and the food takes so long to arrive you forget what you’ve ordered. Same with the drinks. It was so loud we had to raise our voices just to hear each other at the same table. It’s also very dark even in the middle of the day so hopefully you’ll get seated by the windows. At $40/person I expected a better brunch experience.
Excellent and interesting food and great outdoor eating as well. Very noisy, be warned.
Great food as always!
Noise level was high and although the lighting was a bit brighter then I prefer for a dinner, it was still difficult to read the menu since it was printed in about 6 point font in a script that offered poor contrast to the background color of the menu.
The food and service was very good, but the overall experience could have been better based on the above.
The food was great but service was terrible. The waitress barely paid attention to our table. I specifically told her we did not want to do the all you can eat option. We ordered 5 items for 3 people, as well as a dessert. When the check came we were surprised to see the waitress had charged us for all you can eat, much pricier than the amount we had ordered. We asked for this to be resolved, when it finally was 30 minutes later, the bill went from over $200 to about $100 - much more reasonable for the amount we ordered! Be ware that they try to pull a bait and switch - look over your check carefully!!
The food was ok. The ambience was nice. Had a reservation for 11:45pm and still had great service! Geraldo was our server and he was AMAZING!! Great personality and very attentive! Although, he was never updated that the kitchen may be out of certain menu items. So I had to order something else. Dancing downstairs for late night experience. Cool place but menu could be a tad better!
First night in DC with my family for the Cherry Blossom. This place has wonderful dishes and very good wines for descent price. Service was attentive and excellent. Do try their special dessert. The place could use some decorative structures as it is too opened and exposed.
To loud! Food was ok.
The only reason I gave this place 3 stars is because the food was delicious. The service was absolutely horrible. First thing we hear from our server was they just found out that the section we were in was now assigned to them. Then they spill water on our table. When placing orders for drinks a person at our table asked for a certain type of tequila in their margarita. The server came back and told him they were out of the shot he ordered. He didn't order a shot. The table ordered 2 orders of Shrinmp ceviche they brought 2 orders of Peruvian chiviche not once but twice even after we told them it was wrong the first time. Some of us were completely done with our meals by the time others got what they ordered. We complained to a manager and nothing. Not even coming over to the table and apologizing or comping anything.
Toro Toro used to be the go to brunch. It had amazing service and amazing food. The new style set up is not it. The waiter was super inattentive and the food was bland at best. I felt rushed there. It was not the thing I wanted to do for my birthday
Upon arriving, they put in an order of starts and shareable items. You get several rounds of delicious food, plus whatever else you’d like to order. You don’t even have to ask for refills on drinks. As soon as I turned around to order another drink, our server was placing my new one on the table. I go here a lot for Happy Hour and now I am going to be going for brunch!
Meh. Tried once, was okay
Exceptional service. Great food! We enjoy the weekend brunch because we are able to try different food Toro Toro has to offer.
Food was great, especially the shareable menu. Raul is a great waiter!
They have just two wegan options, but both were yummy. Loved the guacamole and salad.
Food was ok, service was fine, they failed to inform us that they would charge us $14 for water.
We had a nice lunch at Toro. Food was good and service (Matt) was exceptional. Will definitely be back.
