Loud! Black bean soup was more like a thick dip. Guac really good & lots of it! I’ll def be back!
Everyone’s Food Was Cold
Had a 2:00 reservation and was instructed to get there at 1:45 to be seated prior to the start of the show. Was not seated until almost 2:30 because our table was not ready. Took close to 20 minutes for a server to even check on us. Our group chose the bottomless option but was only visited about 3 times total the entire time we were there and most certainly did not get our money’s worth. Gratuity was included as well. Would not have tipped nearly as much since the service was so poor. Priority was more on larger groups than our group. If you have a large group I recommend this place because you will get your money’s worth and be treated better than a group of 7. Was overall not pleased at all.
False advertising. It was supposed to be a drag brunch, no such thing.
Hey Bryan, Thank you for your review. Our drag show starts at 2pm and I see your reservation was at 11:30am. I do apologist if our advertising was misleading in any way or if you were given incorrect information. Our drag show is very popular and I hope you stop in again soon to see it. Best, Tony Curran General Manager
Drag Brunch was really fun and the variety of bottomless drinks makes it more dynamic than just orange juice mimosas
Atmosphere was amazing. Food was very disappointing. No flavor very bland. Drinks were great, bartenders had great energy. Not the authentic Mexican we were looking for.
The location seems nice and relaxing but the food quality not so great. As an authentic Mexican I wouldn't recommend this place. If you want to have a quick snack and drinks then I think this place will be good.
Great place was there for National Margarita Day ! It was the best the ...the spicy guacamole is everything
Birthday dinner. Had a great time!
Food, drinks, and service was really good! The restrooms were not clean at all though, I actually skipped going just because of how unclean it was.
The hostess that was supposed to greet us at the door, let us wait for app. 3 min before she acknowledged us, because she was busy talking and laughing with friends, even though she was right there and I know she saw us standing there. Not a great first impression..
While I was hoping to take the opportunity to write a good review on this restaurant, unfortunately I was generally disappointed.
I made Saturday reservations for 2 at 12:30pm and arrived to a empty restaurant at 12:15. The hostess had me reserved for a table right at the front, next to the door - the only table in this area. When I requested to be moved to a different table in the main seating area as I saw the restaurant was empty, she said she had to discuss with the manager.
The manager proceeds to tell me, quite rudely, that they were incredibly busy that day and should I choose to move to a different table I would not be allowed to stay any later than 1:45.
Once again since clearly I had the first reservation of the day in an empty restaurant this did not make sense to me, especially the attitude of the manager.
Once seated my friend and I did manage to enjoy meal. The food was alright, neither exceptional nor horrible. Our server was great, absolutely no complaints about him.
Throughout the hour and a half we managed to stay at this table we saw 3 larger parties (6-8 people) trickle in and another 2 person reservation, still the tables were not full. After we had paid the check, the manager finally comes up to say we could stay longer, to which I replied "we're leaving."
I would not recommend this restaurant. There are plenty of other restaurants you in the area where you can get a bottomless experience while not being treated as a nuisance by the manager. I would recommend, better planning the dining area to accommodate small and large parties.
My wife and I visited on 31 Dec around lunch time, I think it was opening time. Naturally, the place was slow, but picked up as we concluded our meal. Its a nice hole in the wall type place. The inside is comfortable and the staff was polite. Keep in mind that our priority was to have something spicy due to the previous night...lol - So we started with drinks, naturally, and went for the micheladas, they're not on the menu ;^) - But they are deliciously spicy! Highly recommended. If you're not used to the heat, probably want to let them know. We also shared appetizers, the food came quick and was delicious. I recommend it, and if I'm in part of town again, I will definitely return.
I took my boyfriend here for his birthday. we ordered a drink tower and quest to start out and we ended up leaving after taking a couple sips out of each drink and the queso. The drinks seemed to be more flavor than alcohol and the queso tasted like flour was mixed in it, the texture was not like cheese at all. I wanted to like this place. Our waitress was really nice, and the restaurant/bar was pretty. The queso was the main reason we left and didn't order entrees.
Was quite enjoyable! We will return soon. Food was great!
Good service but we were disappointed with the food. Lack of flavor.. bland
Amazing food and service. The waiters were super nice and attentive. The brunch special is delicious and worth the price.
Food was ok but needed more flavor. Cemitas sandwiches had hardly any steak and was mostly breading.
This place is a bit overrated. The option of bottomless brunch for food and drinks for just $50 seems like a good deal but the quality of food isn’t the best. They bring out several small plates but none of them taste great leaving you satisfied or wanting more. The drinks were well made and enjoyable. My friends and I went for Sunday brunch and was not aware that there was a drag show. If that is not your scene than you won’t enjoy it at all. The music was incredibly loud to the point it induces headaches so if you’re looking for a brunch spot to talk with your friends this isn’t it. When my friends and I were there, there were young adults dancing on the tables after eating their brunch so like I stated earlier if this isn’t your scene you won’t have the best time. All in all I’d rate this place a 2 out of 5. The breakfast nor the drag queen show was enjoyable for the price.
Had a blast at their Sunday Drag Brunch! Made a reservation, but ended up choosing to sit at the bar.
I went for the burlesque brunch and the show didn’t start on time and was only about 15 min long. The food was not great and didn’t have much of a variety.
Excellent brunch for a big group. The food and drinks kept coming and everything was delicious
Not bad, but way too expensive for what it was. No one needs to pay 18 dollars for a burrito.
Love this addition to the Financial District! I enjoyed my taco salad and everyone in our group seemed to enjoy their meals as well - plates were cleaned! They really did a great job with the space and everyone had a great time.
Why no points? I don’t know why I didn’t get any points for dining here??? The margaritas were very good, as was the guacamole and the steak and pork taqueria. The server brought chicken instead of steak, but quickly rectified it. I’d certainly be back if the restaurant provided Open Table points.
Good vibe to the restaurant. It was more of a bar than a restaurant. We were unable to book a table for 8pm for 3 people so booked it for 9pm but when we got there, the place was empty.
The waiter was amazing. For brunch you don’t order it kinda just comes which might have been an issue because I’m vegetarian but the waiter went above and beyond to get me enough to eat. The brunch is also only for 2 hours so one of the staff (Terry) politely asked up to continue drinking at the bar. Then Terry came up and offered us a drink on the house because of the inconvenience. The best! Such a nice and unnecessary thing to do. It’s the little things that really change your experience. Love it. Will def be back. Thank you Terry
I understand Toro Loco is still in "soft" opening mode (late April) but so far so good. The space is beautiful and the servers and hosts are genuinely friendly and helpful. Great guac and chips (though not made tableside as you might expect). The food menu is a bit predictable and ho-hum (tacos, burrito, mexican-ish salads and sandwiches), hoping this will change as they officially launch. Everything we ordered was good enough -- ingredients seemed fresh and on point -- but meat was a bit underseasoned. Cocktail menu looks fantastic -- this is going to be a happy hour destination, for sure!
