Toro never fails to deliver the best sushi in the area!! The seared sushi rolls are outstanding!! The food is always fresh and delicious. A great wine list adds to the attraction of the restaurant. The service is good for the most part. That said, the servers are always friendly and the food always comes to the table promptly. I’ve eaten there a dozen times or more and will continue to always go there for sushi. And at a time when so many restaurants in Carmel are so overpriced, Toro remains very reasonably priced!

I am a sushi sashimi lover. I gave Toro 3 stars. The place and the services are good. However, I care more about food quality than anything else. In the last 30 years, I have tried a lot of different Japanese restaurants in the States and other countries. I know good or bad fish/sashimi. Toro’s sashimi is okay but not fresh. The fish was turning dry and in the refrigerator for a while. It's not a fish today, for sure. For the price, it is a bit over price. Maybe due to the location. But not, I won’t revisit Toro.

The sashimi was wonderfully fresh and flavorful, and the tempura was delicious--light and crunchy. We enjoyed the flights of sake also. The wait staff are friendly, informative, and upbeat.

Superbly fresh nigiri. Friendly neighborhood vibes. Best hotate we have had in decades. Hamachi served was not from the belly yet still delicious. Would have appreciated more NA beer options, but this place is a winner. We hope to make this a regular spot!

Lovely space with wonderful food and service. Outside seating is very peaceful and the heaters work well. All the dogs were well behaved - it must be their favorite spot too! The sushi seems to have a little extra/different something that makes it special. Everything was delicious. The staff is extremely pleasant and so enjoyable to interact with. We look forward to our next meal there.

Lovely casual sushi place. Sommelier was friendly and provided a great recommendation. Food well priced. We had a great experience. If we lived here, we’d come regularly.

Great sushi, loved the ambiance and decor. Waitress was very attentive and helpful. Wife has a gluten allergy and they were great with it, plenty of good options for her. We were a group of six and they accommodated us no problem. I’d be happy to go back a definitely recommend.
