We were in a group of 9. They sat us together instantly, combining two reservations. The restaurant is gorgeous. The setting is so pretty. The small touches were fun; a special shot of juice for the entire table and then some special gluten free bread. We didn’t stay for dessert because we were heading off to see fireworks so we want to go back just for the dessert! Everyone enjoyed their entree. My daughter went crazy for her sushi. It was a wonderful way to spend America’s 250th birthday. Thank you Toro

The food service and atmosphere was incredible. How they recommend the Hamachi starter, and the Ahi poke guacamole.

We went for my daughter’s birthday (annual tradition). The staff is always so friendly and makes a big deal for birthdays. Being a Monday night, they were quite busy and out of a few entrees. However, the food is always good & La Bamba dessert is a huge hit!

We have enjoyed many meals at Toro however this time there were several dishes that they were out of and it was a bit unusual as they were playing rap music from the 90s at multiple volume levels. I don’t mind the actual music, but it did not fit the restaurant. The volume would go way up as if you were in a club and then it would come back down to a moderate level. We could literally hear the music way before we even got to the restaurant as if we were approaching a nightclub. This was a Sunday night dinner, not a Saturday night cocktail. A little disappointed by this visit. Not sure I’ll be back in the near future

We have been wanting to go for Sunday brunch. One time we showed up and there was no one there, so we passed. On Father's Day there was no availability. Then we made a reservation on a following Sunday only to find no one there again. But this time we elected to stay. The restaurant is inviting and the view of the 18th hole is beautiful. On the surface, it should be a no-brainer for Sunday brunch. But it doesn't seem to attract a weekly crowd. We had just returned from a trip to Santa Monica where we had had delicious meals at restaurants there. This being operated by Richard Sandoval had us expecting at least equal quality food and presentation. But it was just blah. Not horrible. Just not above average. The waitress was wonderful but service was slow, even though we were the only one's there. And they didn't have to-go receptacles stocked, so it took some time before she was able to locate any. This restaurant needs to step up its game. If it's going to market itself as a top chef restaurant at a major resort on a golf course, it needs to build a quality, at-least Los Angeles quality if not NYC/Chicago/SF/Houston quality menu and find a way to make it the favored destination of locals after church or on weekends even during the summer months. Other average restaurants, e.g. the Vic, seem to do it. What a waste of attractive space to not have people clamoring to visit. We expect a bold menu with items sufficient to draw food critic attention. Not the same old same old. We will return, but only because it is nearby and isn't terrible. We wish we could have given it a stronger review. Maybe this will invite some changes.

Perfect brunch for a large group celebrating a special event. Inside seating was great with nice views of the golf course. Food and drink were excellent. Nice DJ curated music going but noise level was perfect for conversation amount a large group.

It didn’t start out great. I had originally booked a table for 6:45pm. The day of, I changed the reservation to 6:15pm. We arrived at 6:10 and were told that we would be seated closer to our reservation time. Only 5 minutes, but OK. We waited 5 minutes and went back. The hostess said our reservation was for 6:45 so we would not be seated until then. Now looking around the restaurant was not busy. More than half of the tables were free. Open table showed reservations available for basically anytime. So why would we not be seated even if we were early?? It made absolutely no sense to leave us standing at the entry for half an hour when there were many tables available and reservations available for anytime. I politely informed her that our reservation had been modified to 6:15 and showed the confirmation. We were seated immediately. What?? Seriously. That just makes no sense. Now for the good. From the time that we were seated everything was outstanding. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and just the right amount of attentive. We enjoyed a sushi roll for an appetizer, which was delightful. Our entrees were salmon and beef dish. Both were excellent. The most amazing flavors. It was a very enjoyable meal overall, minus the experience with the hostess to start.
