Japanese Restaurant Featuring Traditional Ramen, Sushi, Izakaya/Bar menu. Torino opened its door to the north suburbs of Chicago in 2017 focusing on creating traditional authentic ramen and it quickly became the busy ramen shop in the north shore.

Torino's philosophy goes beyond ramen. Torino started to offer a sushi menu and was recently voted as the best sushi restaurant in the north shore of Chicago.

    The food and presentation was great however there were a lot of people working there who appeared to have never worked in a restaurant. We were not greeted at our table outside for 15 minutes and when the server appeared, he did not seem intent on engaging, or upselling. Granted it was busy as there was a street festival earlier in the day but “do you want something g other than water” is not a good opener. He pushed for us to order our entire meal at once, did not highlight specials or ask if we had questions. We ordered drinks and appetizers. When he returned with the drinks after some time, the ice was melting and martini was no longer cold, he again asked for the rest of our order. We relented and then received our main course before two of the three appetizers. When I pointed it out to the food runner, she just stared at me. Also, one teaspoon of soy sauce is not enough for one person. The waiter inquired how our food was but did not ask if we wanted more drinks. He did bring additional soy sauce when o asked. when he cleared the table said “you made good work of that.” Unsure of the implication. I then paid, and he stood over me while I entered the tip into the system which is somewhat intrusive. Overall food was good but we will not be returning.

    The food is always delicious! The service is outstanding. The servers are attentive. This one of our go to restaurants as we know the food will be tasty.

    Outstanding place with great food and staff…consistent gap is bar service. Always a long wait for a drink and could generate more revenue if the bar turned faster.
