3.5/5 stars. Visited this spot yesterday for my birthday lunch and had mixed feelings. The ambience is hip and comfy, really enjoyed the vibe. I even mentioned it was my birthday in my reservation and to the server, so it would've been nice to get some sort of small token of appreciation, like a complimentary dessert or drink. Food-wise, portions are okay but not impressive. The $28 shoyu ramen bowl was a letdown - expected to see chasu pork in it, but it was just broth, noodles and veggies. Broth was good, but not what I expected for Japanese ramen quality (been to many ramen places in Asia, so I know what I'm talking about!). Bibimbap was close to perfect, but again, where's the meat? Mango salad was a highlight - fresh and perfect for summer. Cocktails are overpriced for the size, $12 for a tiny drink? Overall, good but not great, maybe tweak the menu and portions to justify the prices and pay a bit more attention to celebrating special occasions.

The food here was sooo good and fresh, cocktails were fantastic, dessert wonderful. Probably the best meal I've had in Halifax since moving and it was reasonably priced for what we got. My friend has celiac and still found many options. Lots of great mocktails available as well. And the staff were so helpful, attentive, and kind! Ten outta ten! New fav restaurant.

Reserved a table of 8 here for my wifes birthday. I told them ahead a time it was for a birthday we were greeted with a delicious sesame honey roll cake with a candle in it. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience and the food was amazing! Highly reccommend the KFC cauliflower and pork bao buns as apps. For mains the party all choose noodle dishes and they were all of excellent taste and quality. 100% will be back again to try more items on their spectacular menu

This is my second time enjoying lunch at Toridori. The service is always excellent, with a wonderful attention to detail. The food is so flavorful, fresh and prepared with high quality ingredients. It's a great price for the quantity and quality. Can't wait to go back!

I love this restaurant, the value is second to none, the atmosphere is great, food and service are excellent. Toridori is not a typical Halifax restaurant, the design encourages interaction with other guests, no reservations means you can show up anytime. I definitely recommend!

We had the pleasure of dining at toridori before it opened and had a wonderful meal. The fried chicken was perfectly sweet and crispy , the the dumplings were so fresh I could have eaten 10 more of them. We had the slap noodles which had a really nice spice and texture. The space was really interesting and there was a lot of attention to detail in the service and table settings. Would highly recommend!
